Trigger Finger

Hi,

I know I’ve asked before on here if anybody has trigger finger, but as the one I have on my right hand is very painful I contacted my dr via the patches system asking for some painkillers for it. I now have an appointment with a physio in a few weeks. Had anyone else been referred to physio and did it help?
Hi.. I have had trigger finger on my left ring finger for about a year now. Had physio. Didn’t help. Had a splint made of plastic that really did ease it had to use it for 12 weeks but once taken off still the same. And so painful once my finger was stuck. I’m now waiting surgery to release the muscle or whatever it is the gets stuck. It may be painful to wear something at night to stop your finger from getting trapped but once you’re asleep you don’t notice it. It’s helps so much for the morning. Keep pestering your physio or go who can refer you to the next level.

Yes left hand for me, sometimes it can be very painful for years even now. I don't know but I try to stretch it out, whether it's neuropathy as it's not just feet and my Pregabolin keeps pain down.

I had a trigger thumb on my left hand. I couldn't bend it unless I forced the knuckle. I was sent for an x-ray and was then referred to hospital. They gave me a steroid injection into the base if my thumb. This really worked for me, although I do still get some discomfort and have been left with a small lump. At the base of my thumb. Diabetics are more prone to trigger finger and I was told beforehand that the steroid injection may not work and/or may have to be repeated. I'm still ok after 4 years ❤️

hi everyone responding on this thread .... type 1 for 53 years and so far have had 5 surgeries for trigger finger ( duypetrans contracture ) also 2 surgeries for carpal tunnel ..... if you can get a steroid injection while waiting for surgery i would recommend ... it does help ........the surgeries have happened over about 20 to 25 years ( 1991 to 2013 )so not been continual pain and issues ... and once the first was recognised and operated on my awareness was much heightened and so sought assistance much quicker than the first one .
