Trivial but what kind of bag do you use

Hi @Diabeticger To be honest anything works, as long as it's easy to carry, portable etc then the actual bag itself is simply down to personal choice, I haven't seen diabetic bags as such as the amount of kit each diabetic carries is down to personal preference, I tend to carry what I need with my daily so glucose and meter, if travelling away from home then this x 3 and back up pens and insulin as well as all my pump paraphernalia so will use a rucksack as it's easy to carry :)
 
I use the Elite Bags FIT's and have done for the last couple of years. It's been everywhere with me, has an isothermic pouch in the middle for hot climates and has meant I don't need to cart my rucksack around all the time (and it fits inside it conveniently when I have it) :)

If you Google "Diabetes Kit Bag" there is plenty pf choice and I used to get ads come up on Facebook suggesting I purchase one but I have never bothered.
Before I changed to a pump, I used a Healthy Back Baglett (https://www.thehealthybackbag.co.uk/shop/category/bagletts). This was plenty large enough to carry two insulin pens (with Frio bag if on hols), test strips, spare needles and lancets in the pocket with spare batteries for the meter, a lancer, a tube of GlucoTabs and the meter. There is also space for a credit card, phone and door key. I never found the need to carry the meter case and then put it in another bag so the meter case got chucked years ago with the box.
Once I changed to the pump, I followed Knikki's approach and shoved the meter, GlucoTabs, test strips and lancer in my jacket pocket for a short trip (e.g, down the pub or out for a meal) and for a longer trip (e.g, work day), I put it all in my laptop bag with a syringe in case the pump decided to have an off day (I have spare syringes in most bags, just in case).

ANYTHING with the word DIABETIC on it is going to cost a small fortune. Dont waste your money....any normal bag will do. For work I use an ASDA shopping bag, it fits my sarnies in and my BG test pouch and it was only 10 pence :)

I used to use a plastic Aldi bag but my friend gave me a cool childs rucksack in the shape of a pink elephant. I put longer straps on it and now I'm not going anywhere without my diabetic elephant!
Very practical as everyone remembers it's mine because it looks pretty ridiculous, so it will come back to me if I mislay it.

I'm not a pumper and just use a make-up bag to carry both pens, needles, meter, strips and a tube of glucotabs. I make sure I have enough needles for the day, and more than enough strips for any eventuality and that the tube of glucotabs actually has some in :rolleyes: (been caught that way before). The make up bag fits in a normal handbag along with all my other essentials - keys, wallet, phone etc.

Other than that I have spare needles in my desk drawer (lockable) together with spare glucotabs and spare strips. Also there are glucotabs in the glove compartment of the car.

Trick is to "stock rotate" the strips so none go out of date.
 
As a person who uses a handbag I just throw my stuff in the bottom. That or in the bottom of my backpack. I don't keep it all clumped together. A small backpack might suit you. You could get your wallet in it and phone and ...water? Your plastic bag so you don't get caught out and be charged 5p. Etsy is a good place to look up and I know you're a guy but search large make up bags then our favourite football team or tv show. That should pop up a decent sized bag with a zip that you can fit all you need in while safely under your team's badge as opposed to floral patterns you tend to find in the shop. I agree with others saying don't search for diabetic ones. Total rip off. I'm a tomgirl myself so when I go away for a few days I do use a bag and its 30cm long and 15ish high mb? Real Madrid badge on it and plain purple the rest over.
 
For me:

Boyfriend's hoodies, men clothes have large pockets, hehehe and i'm jealous that they get that luxury. :hilarious:
I have a Fjallraven backpack for uni, so I chuck anything in the front pocket, I'm always surprised when I find unopened packets of test strips.
sometimes, an odd sock to wrap around pens and strips.
and pencil cases are pretty cool, I have loads of those. :)
