What meds do you take for bp? I know we are all different but does anyone take Losartan?

I seem to be getting UTI symptoms but GP says it's good for the kidneys.

Any thoughts please.

I've been on losartan for at least a decade.... Haven't noticed an increase in UTIs, which have always been influenced by my bgs for me...

Personally I take a small dose of Ramipril which I believe is also good for the kidneys. As far as you suffering while taking Losartan, I think no one should have to put up with side effects from meds. There are many more different BP meds. If I was in your position I would go back for a discussion with my GP with a view to trying something else.

Thank you! I agree. I was in Perindopril 8mg but was changed to Losartan by cardio consultant only because I had abit of a dry cough. Not for any cardio issue. Never had any uti symptoms so will definitely visit GP.

I also take Ramipril (was advised that it was particularly suitable for someone with diabetes). However, if you look at the leaflet, it has its own long list of potential side effects; so best chat to your GP as @Rachox said.

Lisinopril for 10 or so (maybe a few more) years I think - seems to work ok with no side effects other than a thumping headache if I miss one
