Diabetes doesn't cause pain. If you have complications from uncontrolled diabetes some of those complications can cause pain (neuropathy, gastroparesis) but you should really have those sorts of pains investigated for a diagnosis and treatment. Diabetic complications and the symptoms arising from them can be alleviated by improving glycaemic control.

What kind of pain and where @jonniey ?

In general, improving control can help ease pain or stop more occurring, at least. How are your blood sugars? Is there anything in particular that's adding to your struggle with control?

I drink beer everyday I have migraines everyday and sometimes pain in my chest I'm a skinny guy was very active all my life. my sugar is rarely under 180 my sugar is mainly above 270

Migraines and chest pains could be any number of things.......

worth a visit to the doctor....

I don't get any regular pain apart from recent pain which I thought was kidneys but it was actually sore back due to a bad mattress....

I drink 2 to 4 litres diet coke and about 3 litres beer or more everyday. I also starve
myself as much as possible

Not great @jonniey , you should seek help from your Dr and Diabetes Consultant for the pain, diabetes control and your drinking/food problem.

Migraines and chest pain don't sound diabetes related. You should see your doctor for the cause and treatment.

Guidelines are for no more than 14 units of alcohol a week. You're probably having more than that per day.

Why are you starving yourself?

the beer is basically just like food so by that logic you should be limiting that as well.....

getting back to the original point of the post which was your pain and whether it can go, the answer is yes.......i don't think any discomfort you have is diabetes related at the moment......

being healthier will help, like getting nutrients in.......

you need help from the diabetes team at your disposal........you need to be told and eventually shown what insulin needs to go in and when...

I think the pain is from constant high blood sugar I don't know

I mainly just eat brown bread sometimes even just 4 slices for the day sometimes 1 egg and some meat... I never eat fruit or vegetables

You could be enjoying all sorts of food to be honest if you can get the right insulin in at the right time....

what insulin are you using....?

how often do you test your blood sugar levels....?

I use lantus and humalog at the moment 13L morning and 6L night ant 1 to 1.5 Humalog ....but I correct more than I actually take the estimated amount of humalog because I really fear hypos

I test 6 to 8 times a day and my sugar fluctuates between under 10 and over 25 sometimes 'HI' ......and my head hurts like hell!!

That's probably because you have dangerously high blood sugar and you're dehydrated.

Chest pain can be a symptom of dka. Do you test for ketones when your blood sugar is that high?
