hi im a type 1 diabetic who started a job on a rotating shift work of 6-2/2-10 and its started affecting my readings, my employer asked for evidence to support my claim that the hours are affecting it from a doctor, my local doctor said there was nothing they can do and now i don't know where to turn, can i use the information on here and show him or not? is that evidence to support it?
kind regards

Hi @Jordan88 and welcome to the forums.

Quite a few T1s do do shift work but people vary a lot on how easy it is to control their levels.

How long have you been T1, what sort of insulin regime are you on and have you asked your hospital consultant about the issue?
I believe that UK employers have to make "reasonable allowances" for your diabetes, not sure whether that would include not giving you shift work.

Also, are you a member of a union, as I believe they can help if you believe you are being discriminated against?

Perhaps if you tell your employer that your GP is not going to help and ask if they have a doctor retained by the company for work related problems you can get this sorted out.
There are so many problems within the NHS at the moment I'd have thought they would understand the difficulty.
