Phone for the paramedics...Hello, this is my first ever post.. and I am a type one diabetic with really high sugars at 30.5 I have had some correction doses to bring them down but seems still rising.... drinking plenty of water and still not helping. Any advice? I'm 24 and been diabetic for 20 years
Why is a pump user at a higher risk? Are you able to check for ketones? Have you changed insulin vials and checked injection sites? (If you're on a pump then you can go into DKA even more quickly than a basal/bolus person so you should really be ringing 111 now.

Oh okay thanks for the explanationMy understanding is that because they don't have any basal in their system they can run out of insulin much more easily eg if the pump's connection goes wrong. (Not a pump user myself, so I may have misunderstood what I've read from pump users.)
The thread can certainly be moved if the OP wants it. How are you this morning @Jadeeee ?Hi @Jadeeee - how are you this morning? Tagging some mods for you as @EllieM suggested this may be better moved to the T1 forum - @Rachox or @Brunneria
Glad to hear your numbers have improved xI finally got them down thank you so much for the advice and i did ring 111 and did as asked
