Type 1'stars R Us

Good afternoon. 7.8 bedtime and 7.8 on waking. Never had such stable BS, I know I am not eating foods I used to eat, but happy with results. Not a bad morning, managed some washing up and I watered my tomato plants by myself this morning for the first time in weeks ( other's have done that).
An odd thing happened that night. Went to bed after watching and dozing, to The Green Mile. Went to bathroom, then all of a sudden I felt incredibly sick, knelt down over loo bowl to be sick and I experienced 'dry heaving' ( googled it today) couldn't stop, but eventually it did and I felt better, 1st time I have ever experienced that !
Cup of tea time now and maybe a GF sandwich,
Happy Sunday to you all :)
Are you on antibiotics? If so, maybe a cause of the dry heaves ? Hope you feel better and it doesn't return !

So far the Libre is backing up my theories and experiences. One of the things that was pushed on DAFNE this week was to ignore 'vegetable' carbs (yes, all of them!) and only use 'of sugars' for things like beans. I had a cooked breakfast this morning and tried a halfway house counting the carbs religiously (18g) and halving the dose instead of just counting the sugar and, well, I remain unconvinced considering I've been fairly active the last few hours.

I think it depends on amount. I decided to count veggie carbs recently, as I was eating quite a lot of them, and my blood sugars are working quite nicely.

I think I might need to go on a DAFNE re-education course. I suspect they are trying to give advice that works for that fictional average person, and it has to be adapted depending on how much we aren't that fictional person.

That seems likely as they are aiming the principles at a large audience from different walks of life with differing experience with diabetes and I get that you can't tailor for everyone. I could totally understand if the advice had been disregard small amounts of above ground veggies where the total is unlikely to be high unless eaten in large quantities (like broccoli, cabbage, leafy greens) but to include all is a step too far for me (sweetcorn - 20g per 100g, parsnips - 13g per 100g).

But then I also couldn't deal with not correcting unless prior to a meal or before bedtime. I'd be feeling lousy wandering around with a high that I could do nothing with because I'm not about to eat or have a kip at the moment. Maybe my approach is wrong ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hmmmmm!!! :shifty: about an hour an half ago 19.9 Etch A Sketch pointing upwards  problem is I don't know why, been feeling a but under the weather but even so, not been that high for at least a couple of years.

Hate being that high, hate the damage it is doing. Plus I have even eaten less today and last night than I have eaten all week.

So 16u of our old friend Nova Rapid/Sluggish/Useless and 50 minutes in the gym.

Now sat here fresh fruit, coffee and Jaffa cakes because I'm at 2.5.

Ok not right either but I can deal with hypos better than hypers and love it or loathe it it is the way I prefer.

Give it an hour or so and I'm back around the universe again blowing all heck out of everything :D

Keep fighting it. It’s the only thing that we can do.

Afternoon of swimming with the child. She's now half asleep on the living room floor. She's managed to scoff a quarter of the fudge as well.

I thought DAFNE excellent 2 years ago. However our newfound knowledge, care of the Libre, is a game changer and they need to update it. Corrections are so much easier for a start and you see the affects of different foods on an INDIVIDUAL in real time.

Don't get me wrong I thought most of the course excellent and well run there were just some things that didn't seem right in my (admittedly relatively minor) experience with Type 1 so far. It certainly lays the foundations of management down and re instills them as a refresher but I also felt it was a bit rigid and wouldn't allow for fine tuning for those who felt confident enough.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, Libre is definitely a game changer and I'm so thankful I got this one when I did as I'd have admittedly been nervous of all the dose changes I've had to do over the last week without it.

Absolutely. Being able to see what’s happening as it happens has been a real eye opener for me.

Yeah I guess that does take the “ long acting “ sales pitch to a new extreme.
It would have to be split doses. Half now and half at Venus.;)

If was thinking somewhere a little further away from the heat of the sun? :D

Hypo of 3.3 to finish off the weekend, think my Fiasp got to work before the tagliatelle in my late evening meal. :depressed:
Glucotabs in and an upwards arrow imitating a rocket on the Libre. :D

Goodnight to all those off to bed.
