A - you don't.
I recently read something along the lines of "test every two hours or when safe to do so".
I would argue it was not safe to do so when at the wheel of the car and there was nowhere for you to stop.

But then I can be a bit stroppy and argumentative at times ... and that has nothing to do with diabetes because I was the same before I had it.
Some may suggest it has something to do with my red hair. If so, I should be getting less argumentative as more grey streaks appear.
But I'd argue I am not which disproves that theory too :)
I just stick my finger out and the teenager stabs it for me if I can’t stop...

Sadly (?) no teenager in the car.
It’s definitely numpty-time here. Went down to get Levemir at stabtime this morning but got talking to son-in-law and forgot: dumbhead!
Been chasing highs all day and they’ve just come down. It wasn’t helped by going into town without bolus insulin and an couple of hours of dashing about to pick up and order essential part-time job stuff. Double numpty, on toast, with a side order of total dafty.
I stuck in half the usual Levemir when I realised, 6 hours later than I should have, but’ll have to watch the double stacking of both basal and bolus.
Now would you cut the evening Levemir and risk a high tomorrow morning? I’ll be on my own tonight.

Been a good type 1 for a few months now eatin, for me a fairly low carb diet, about 90g per day ( i was on about 220g).

Anyhoo did not have any salad stuff for lunch, or eggs for work, so noticed a tin of macaroni cheese in cupboard. 44 g of carbs so not overly high. Had that and it was not that nice. 2 hours later went from 7.3 to 13.6:nailbiting::nailbiting:. Even now 4 hours later when I normally am around 6 its at 12.5.

Moral of story dont eat **** carbs

Just had a correction dose and will have dinner, about 20g of carbs about 6.30 so this could be fun tonight

Oh no! At least it's gone now, and is no longer there to tempt you.

The small child's equipped with big school uniform and both parents are alive and unhurt :p and we only had one row in the hour together....

I realised I'd run short of needles, so took myself and some charm to the GPs surgery and sorted a script to collect at 4, goes back at 4.30 and it can't be found, then it was but unsigned, so a call to the adjoining chemist ok-d that, or it would have done if they'd had the tips, but they didn't so back tomorrow before they shut, and for some reason they've given me a box of Tresiba.

I've a supermarket's best fish pie on in the oven, potato salad and steamed veg'll take me to 105g complex carbs and an early tea, then out door knocking for some window money, then a mate's coming round with his guitar for a 4.20 kind of evening/

Well that was not fun. Must have overdone the Novorapid a tad, just had my worst hypo in years. Could feel myself dropping and checked my Libre after about 1 hour, showing as 4.9, but it felt MUCH lower and it was. Done a finger check and 3.2 . That was unusual because all my previous sensor have both around the same BG

It felt really low and panic mode then kicked in which of course makes much the hypo feel much worse. Lots of fast acting carbs on board, Libre now at 3.9 and showing a down arrow. Another finger test down to 2.9. Now real panic set in so quick glass of coke and away to lie on top of bed. Libre now at 3.2 and still showing down.

10 minutes later and back in land of living at 5.2 finger test. So back onto rollercoaster

I know some people hate going hyper, but I really hate going hypo and will probably feel cr ap for rest of night:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Macaroni cheese, from a tin, must have a very high GI. If you'd eaten it very slowly you might have had less of a peak, however.................now you have to reduce the size of the zigzags, which is no fun at all.

Think I’m losing the plot

Went into Carlisle this morning for an appointment at CAB (pensions) and reported to reception to find out my appointment is on the 28th

You’re not alone! A couple of weeks ago I turned up seven days early to an appointment. It involved paying some money so maybe I was hoping to get the pain done and dusted? At least yours will be for getting some dosh

Hope those who've been in hypo-land today recover well.

I had a momentary fright I was there at 2.2, but really didn't feel low so re-tested immediately on both meters, which agreed at 5.6. Now convinced I've got a dodgy vial of strips this time, which is unusual for this meter, as this is the second time in a few days and it's definitely the same vial.

This all happened outside Cadbury World as I was heading home again after a long walk, and a longish gap since I'd had lunch. Fortunately, I was strong enough to march on past the temptation of the shop.

(No, I'd not been to Cadbury World. It's school holiday time - it's not pleasant unless you're accompanied by children, and not even with such company would I lightly venture there... anyway, I'm saving up my next trip for going with a friend who's coming to stay.)
