Morning y'all :) waking at 6.2 and looking out of the window would say we've had the best of the summer, yesterday was the first day since April I've not worn shorts :( . I missed my gym session yesterday in the name of feeling tired and have woken up a little grumpy :) but that feeling won't last.

Hop @Knikki had a good first night with Tresiba :)

Morning
5.2 at 5.30am but it felt lower.

It evidently was 5.2 because as it felt low I ate 2 huge plums (I leave home in the car at 6.20) and I've just tested now and i'm10.4. which is about right for plums with no fast acting insulin.

Happy times and places
Tony

Mornin’ all, 5.7, after a surprise Thai last night since him indoors had insisted it was his turn to cook then found he couldn’t be derriered so we went out - it’s always delicious. The lovely owner had been home to Thailand to see family and was looking younger for it.
Plums are a danger here too @Tony337, it’s so easy to grab one now they’re ripening: compost to the bin = correct for plums.

Slipped downstairs last night. Broken phone (in pocket) and one buttock looks a lot more Kardashian than the other.

Morning campers.

Well I am still here :chicken:

Stuck 17.5 (carts fit Nova pens) in last night of Tresiba, Degludec or 'Duloc' as it is getting called.

Early part of the night all OK and then it went steadily up when it set one of the High alarms off at 5am :arghh:

In with 5 of Aspisdtra, breakfast with IOB on board add some more insulin in and I'm sat here with another High alarm going off. :***: so in goes more insulin.

Its going to be an 'interesting' week. :meh:

Hope your pension future’s falling into place @Cumberland, does the NHS have a good one? I feel really lucky to have a work based pension these days. Despite the part-time job to top it up, as a result of never wanting to get into management (I’d have probably been hopeless anyway, and too cross with policies to be able to act as wanted) and only working a few evening hours when daughters were young, I feel relieved that there’s a steady drip into the account.

Hang in there, it is like driving a new car, it takes time for the rattles to settle and idiosyncrasies to become known.
Just try not to get cake crumbs on the seats.:watching:

Hi @Diakat, Maybe your mobile phone saved your hip joint. RICE ( Rest Ice, Compression and Elevation) is the usual mantra, for you in this case an exercise in ingenuity. You are excused from washing up, drying and all household duties !!
Best Wishes for a quick recovery.

Fingers crossed for you @kev-w and @Knikki :)

Smooth night here - I’m having a late evening rise afte dinner, but getting back into range at 1-2am - not sure if it’s protein or if I need to adjust my evening basal rate. Will try a meal without fish tonight and see what happens.

Just off to the surgery to get blood drawn for an HbA1c
Blood draw = no washing up and cooking for that day.

I had a real easy change over on mine. My dietitian told me to cut my basal by 10%. Was on 22 units of Lantus before. After 3-4 weeks of messing around with it I am now on 14 units of Tresiba. Most of the time it is spot on BUT every now again, mainly on days ending in "Y" it is like I have only injecting half the dose! BUT we are all aware of that with T1D :)
Do dietitians over there have to right to change your insulin ?? Only doctors and nurses educators here in Oz can do that !!

Clearly I’m a stone today. Nurse couldn’t get any blood out of my usual arm despite some serious digging around so had to use my other one that I save for emergencies. I suspect I was pretty dehydrated, first time I’ve had an issue. I wonder if gloopy blood will affect my HbA1c score?
Let us all hope for more wide spread use of the HBA1C test using finger-prick blood. ? What is next, ? Tears or saliva ??

so was an unusual 3.5 before bed last night so had a cereal bar, 20g carbs of which 12 was sugars, so thought that would be ideal to raise me fairly quickly in the first instance and then keep me fairly level 'til morning - not so, 4:45am 3.2, had 5 glucotabs (yeah should have only really had 3!) 7.3 at breakfast at 7:15. hey ho.

Was back at work yesterday and was relatively comfortable regarding sciatic pain, got home and I was in agony - certainly feeling it today as well. Time to chase up my physio referral!
