@Knikki Good luck with the change, remember it's a slightly lesser amount to inject they say, I've gone from 22u Lantus to 15u Tresiba, having started at 17u and dropped down over the first month @ 80kg weight.

Thanks for the info, I was aware that it was more "potent" than Lantus the DSN I was speaking to mentioned that I should drop a couple of units.

If it is that good then I am going to be keeping Basetts in profit from all the Jelly Babies I will be eating over the next month ;) :)

Fingers crossed for you @kev-w and @Knikki :)

Smooth night here - I’m having a late evening rise afte dinner, but getting back into range at 1-2am - not sure if it’s protein or if I need to adjust my evening basal rate. Will try a meal without fish tonight and see what happens.

Just off to the surgery to get blood drawn for an HbA1c

You have reminded me that 40 years ago (aged 10) I went into hospital for 3 days.........

To change my insulin!!

Its what they did back then!

I recall being jealous of the kids who had their tonsils removed because they had ice cream with rice pudding on top!

I'm back! Week in France turned out to be a day shorter - due to M25 being closed we missed our outbound flight, first time I've ever missed a flight! Any way we got there in the end and had a fab hot and sunny time! Still suffering from sciatic pain but it is getting better just very slowly, I even managed to put my socks on this morning :smug:

Hope all is well with you and yours everyone.

Yep I ended up in Hospital for a whole week during half term and not allowed out of the ward because "they changed the insulin and wanted to monitor the effect" which were............absolutley nothing

The only thing it did was put me off tea for life. :hilarious:

Clearly I’m a stone today. Nurse couldn’t get any blood out of my usual arm despite some serious digging around so had to use my other one that I save for emergencies. I suspect I was pretty dehydrated, first time I’ve had an issue. I wonder if gloopy blood will affect my HbA1c score?

A very pleasant morning up here

Been to see a pensions advisor this morning

Good. How did your meeting go?

It's cold here, because it's only the end of August I'm still trying to get some vitamin D, so I rolled up my sleeves, to get some sunlight on my forearms, and was thinking about putting a hat on, because it's cold enough for one.

Good morning/afternoon to everyone. Well after an interesting weekend with sugars yoyoing am back to a normal work routine again. Woke to a 5.8 (WOOHOO) and been a steady straight line so far, currently 6.2, no spike after breakfast either. This is easy (today!)
Good luck @Knikki for your change over tonight, sure you will nail it OR you may flamingo it right up ;)
@kev-w fingers crossed for Thursday

Good morning Karen, have a great day. You’re up early!
I’m not usually awake at this time but have been brought to consciousness by indegestion, my own veg soup I think, made using everything edible in the veg baskets and garden on return from family bh next the sea.
afternoon fairygodmother im in work at 6am hope your well nice to see you back

@porl69 Cheers but I expect a fair few flamingos will get called :hilarious:

I had a real easy change over on mine. My dietitian told me to cut my basal by 10%. Was on 22 units of Lantus before. After 3-4 weeks of messing around with it I am now on 14 units of Tresiba. Most of the time it is spot on BUT every now again, mainly on days ending in "Y" it is like I have only injecting half the dose! BUT we are all aware of that with T1D :)

Morning peeps back to the grind this morning. Decent day yesterday only a slight blip after lunch to 10.0, rest of day mainly 5--7. Straight line overnight and a 7.3 this morning This diabetes stuff is a dawdle:happy:

What frustrates the life out of me, is I had the same breakfast this morning as yesterday. Yesterday between breakfast and lunch I stayed between 5--7. Today it rocketed to 12.1 and is falling back very slowly, still sitting at 10.1 :(
