My friends son and DIL, named their new baby boy.................yep.................Bernard
it's like wading through mud..
What's your high alarm set at Knikki?
@Knikki how is your BG now? Any improvement as yet. Looks like Tresiba will take a while to settle with you
Gives an idea of this mornings battle and yes I know it is say 3.7 but that is fine
As Dulac has a 42 hours window then I am prepared for a bit of a struggle and while for it to settle down, just was not expecting such a fight on the first day.

@porl69 As you can probably guess that is Libre with a MiaoMiao and thats the kind of overload of data you can get. It is the same sort of stuff Mel gets from her Spike.
Makes you almost 'obsessive' about things
I have gone from not giving a flying flamingo in my early twenties (regretting that choice now!) To being a VERY good diabetic now (97%) of the time. 3% I think we all deserve to stick 2 fingers up to the 24 hours attention it takes to keep us in rangeI've just come off a 30 day trial on the Dexcom and I certainly felt that my diabetes became a much bigger part of my life when i was using it, which i'm not sure is a good thing.
It’s definitely become a much larger part of my own life - but as I neglected it horribly for the last two decades, it’s probably about time in my case....I've just come off a 30 day trial on the Dexcom and I certainly felt that my diabetes became a much bigger part of my life when i was using it, which i'm not sure is a good thing.
uuummmmm........don't you mean treacle? treacle-blood!

@Chris Bowsher In the past 6 weeks I have gone from injecting Nova Rapid in an almost set amounts plus Lantus again in a set amount using finger prick machines to having tech in my arm connected to several apps, changed insulins to something completly differnet and using less insulin in one go but much more corrective doses.
Oh! and using Jelly Babies to deal with hypo's, at least there is an upside to all of this
Before that all I was really concerned about was Hb1Ac results and the last time I had it checked was the highest it has been for the last 10 years at 43 I really want to be back down to 38.

I was in burnout for many of those 20 years, in complete denial. I did the absolute barest minimum to not die - took Lantus at bedtime, and basically that was it. I’d go months without testing or taking my Novorapid and ate whatever (as long as it was the NHS approved low fat thing) I wanted. I went on holiday without taking supplies with me, other than my basal pen. Literally the bare minimum. I hate to think what damage I’ve got stored up for myself, so having the opportunity to start afresh with the tech I have has literally been a lifesaver. I’ve only got results back to 2010, but my HbA1c was usually in three figures... Playtime is very much over.I think i have been going slow and steady for the last 20 years but there is no doubt i have regularly burnt the candle at both ends, but you've got to live a little right?
I didn't know whether to "Like", "Winner" or "Hug" that post@Chris Bowsher In the past 6 weeks I have gone from injecting Nova Rapid in an almost set amounts plus Lantus again in a set amount using finger prick machines to having tech in my arm connected to several apps, changed insulins to something completly differnet and using less insulin in one go but much more corrective doses.

So in the last 6 weeks diabetese has become a much more "in your face mate" than it has for the last 50 years.
Is it a good thing?
I suppose it is a Yes, No senario and to me it is still a game to try and keep things in that stupid, daft, ar5e green band on the Etch A Sketch
Updatenow running at 5.5 and level.........hopefully stay there for the rest of the day
Snap.....After 20 years (I was 26) I had had enough. I did exactly as I wanted, pretty much the same as you. Its just that mine went on for another 20 years (on and off being an OK type 1). Obviously totally regretting it now.......BUT too late to dwell over that now. Get up and on with it nowI was in burnout for many of those 20 years, in complete denial.
