Good morning y'all, waking on an 8.6, flat line all night too but anyway...

Yesterday ran away with itself just working, house clearing and pottering around, no gym since Saturday and that's probably the reason why it's a bit higher, I'm on a flyer this morning, clinic at 9am and that'll be half way in the car and the rest on my pushbike, I know one thing and that's I'm going to very happy or very grumpy later :)

Morning my sexy little pancratic challenged friends. :D

Still here and day 2 in to Dulac :bag:

@Alison54321 You were right, I stuck some more Dulac in last night and had a much flatter profile, still set the high alarms off but held off and woke up with an 8.2. So this stuff is still bedding in. :writer:

Flamingos 2nd High alarm just gone off but only stuck 3 units in 10 minutes ago.:banghead:

HMMM might be time for a rethink. :shifty:

@kev-w Good luck with the appointment.

Bore da ffrindiau (getting all Welsh on you this morning) :)

@kev-w - keeping it all crossed for you today ❤️

@Knikki - “Duloc and the Aspidistra” sounds like some sort of prog rock concept album that you’d need an awful lot of non-prescription medication to “get”...

I’m off to Marlborough today, dropping my boy off as he’s going to his dad’s for the weekend. Taking my amazing friend Mad Jean (almost 80, mad as a box of frogs and a long term T2, also a retired nurse) for a trawl of the posh charity shops. Also Waitrose, where hopefully I can get some goat-milk-double-cream and proper halloumi that doesn’t have cow milk in.

Smooth night here more or less. High alarm went off at 2am, not sure if it’s a basal issue or a late protein rise. I’ll have a similar dinner tonight (konjac rice or pasta with some vegan “chicken”) and see what happens. Bunged in a couple of units and in the 4s now, so will have some unbolused breakfast (boiled eggs and soldiers, maybe 7g carb) to get me a bit higher for the drive.

Hope you all have a lovely day, will check in later x

By heck :) our hospital's got wifi and my hba1c is 46, welcome to the modern age (the hospital not my hba1c :p)
I'm laughing to myself with memories of wrestling with a guy 30 odd year back over a week old newspaper in the clinic waiting room.
Back to chewing my finger nails.

Good luck today @kev-w.
Amazing story @Mel dCP, and have a wonderful day with Mad Jean, may the charity shops be full of wonders! Love what you can find in a charity shop, even if you don’t want the stuff it’s a walk through such a variety of lives and artefacts.
Woke at a horrible 15 this morning after a 2.8 low before bed that I may have over eaten for, but just a tince of over eating, so looked closely at the Levemir vial. Had to correct for highs during the day yesterday too. I’ve been travelling with it, with frio, but still, and it’s just 0.5 c from ending, so change vial and fingers crossed for a better profile today and tonight. All vials are created equal but some vials are flakier than others.

Well done Kev with HBa1C.

I too have poor memories of the diabetic clinics in bad old days of 30 years ago. We would all be given the same appointment time at hospital and there would be perhaps 30 plus people waiting. Sometimes you could be there for 3 or more hours. You would get called, doc would ask how you were doing, Fine I would say, OK see you in a year. That was it after waiting for hours.

That's why I stopped going to clinics. Nowadays much more civilised, even have a telly in corner and waiting times no more than 20 minutes and a pretty thorough check with DSN, dietician and doctor. Happy days

Some vials are associated with vile results, others with less vile ones.

10.9 at 5.30am
Low last night ate too much nuff said

Tony
I was similar last night stayed at 4 most of last night, between 8pm and 10pm but just before bed fell back to 3.2. had a biccie and cuppa but by 11pm this was only at 3.8. Took a handful of jelly beans to boost me and this morning woke to a 7.7.

I am starting to be a bit braver with my lows. Normally if I go below 4 I would panic and start with coffee with a couple of sugars as well as 3 or 4 biccies. Its been a slow learning process for me, that I do not need to panic as much, in many ways thanks to you guys on forum

Fantastic result @kev-w !! Save your finger nails. You may need the protein later on.

Dulac and Asperdistra sound like a couple of comics on a Variety show, talking about dried flower arrangements (modesty prevents me from translating that into humour), floral bouquets and the rest.

I have gone from not giving a flying flamingo in my early twenties (regretting that choice now!) To being a VERY good diabetic now (97%) of the time. 3% I think we all deserve to stick 2 fingers up to the 24 hours attention it takes to keep us in range :)
Great attitude to have @porl69, Monitoring is next to purity of spirit. ( and not the evaporative sor)t.

Morning everyone, blood sugar started going up yesterday, as the neighbours had been painting, and I could smell it. It affects myasthma, and blood sugar as as a result, but everything seems ok this morning, so I'm hoping that they had been painting for a few days, and the smell just reached my flat yesterday, rather than that they had just started. It's only a small flat, so there is a limit to the amount of painting they can do.

Not much to report, apart from that, blood sugar just floating in and out of the target zone, as and when it feels like it.

HbA1c sounds good @kev-w keep us updated on how the rest goes, good luck with it.
