Gosh sounds awful @Mel dCP - this is where support is so vital. It's just a massive overload, when faced with the sheer scale of 'everything' it's easier to walk away when overload happens, the trick is getting intervention which allows for a sense of normality without intrusion. It's no wonder so many younger folk suffer as a result.

Rob Halford of Judas Priest is still around as I think the group is, he also sometimes teams up with BabyMetal group.

Your going to love this if you want to get past the intro flick on to about 1.00 minute

Did not expect to find a post about Babymetal on this diabetes forum! That was a great collaboration though, and Babymetal are such a joy to listen to, I'm sure it's not possible to listen to them without smiling.

Another thought: how does he get his driving licence and convince the DVLA he’s well controlled? They’d contact his GP or the Consultant. Do you check licence and insurance holder when you do an MOT at your garage?
We are assuming that he has actually informed the DVLA...

Cake in our house lives in the fridge because the fridge doesn't have mice.

Re miaomiao charging - just hook yourself up every week or so while at a computer?

Yes. I wondered that too. I had an old-style licence for years and years that allowed me to drive til infinity and beyond and then I mislaid it ☹️The reissue was a plastic card, hoops to jump through, all the usual T1 stuff. It never occurred to me and I just wasn’t advised that I now had to inform the DVLA til I lost the old one. I wonder if the young’un knows.

To be fair to him, the Diabetic Teams don't do a good enough job of making this clear to people who were diagnosed at an age when they were far too young to be thinking about driving. I was 16, so it was mentioned, but when I went on Bertie, the two others who were my sort of age, but much younger when diagnosed, were driving around quite happily without any idea that you were supposed to tell the DVLA.

One of them also didn't know that you aren't supposed to just chuck your used needles in the bin.

EDUCATION! Oh I do sound like a stuck record :P

Straw poll as I'm curious on what the consensus is amongst other Libre users - how long do you insert a new sensor before starting it?

Are you of the camp following Abbott's official guidelines and starting straight away or do you allow a 'settling' period and if so how long for?

Tried both ways and didn’t find a difference so now just whack in and use. Well after I’ve sprayed copious amounts of Cavilon on to try and prevent the dreaded rash. To be honest if I can just keep it on for the full 14 days without itching myself ga ga, it’s a win win!
