I'll take a big bowl of porridge over lasagne any day of the week :***:

In the porridge wars, I do like to take the side of porridge enthusiasts, as I like it myself, but I'm not absolutely sure that porridge and lasagne are very interchangeable, as meal choices.

Ones a bit breakfasty, the other not so much. :)

I'll take a big bowl of porridge over lasagne any day of the week :***: - hope it was nice though!

I'd happily take the first for breakfast and the second for tea, every day of the week, or I would if I could use minced chicken as I try limit red meats :)

A decent Monday all told,, some work worked, the gym gymmed, myself and the youngest to the hospital to meet the new grandson, eats eaten and I've discovered a guy on here who used to clean windows :D:D:D

Perhaps not but that's the length I'd go to I think to dodge lasagne and have something else. It's up there just below nuts (including the fake ones [peanuts, cocount]) on foods I can't get on with!

Who sets the rules on when we can eat stuff? My dear gran was known to occasionally have a bowl of cornflakes for supper. :D

Me too once upon a time but alas not onymore

I have ne or two Weetabix for supper, pre Tresiba they'd fit in ok but with Tresiba I need a u or so of fast acting, doesn't always work out mind but it's a learning game, or that's what I tell myself when I get it wrong.

Talking Tresiba, it's an odd one but I seem to get a drop about 6 hours after injecting, intuition is telling me to move my basal to the morning and not wanting to start messing's telling me not to :)

The joys....

There are many variants of lasagne - I am partial to a seafood lasagne or a mushroom and kale lasagne or a roasted veggie lasagne. Italians may not find them very traditional but I don't eat meat but like the pasta and cheese sauce so why should I miss out? And why can't you have chicken mince?

Yeah that's true, in fact I do stuff like chicken breast in Bolognaise sauce, I've just never minced it but I could chop it fine, I bulk my food out with veg as far as it goes.

@kev-w ,

Moving our convo over from the other thread about windows.

I once cleaned this flat in a complex.. (Elderly sheltered residence.) the front was easy, but the back needed a climb...
Giving a satisfying squeak as I dried/polished the edges on a double glazed wood frame.
The window opened & a resident asked if I'd heard a woman scream...? :D

So you wouldn't bolus for them before - you'd have had the Lantus soak them up? That's interesting re Tresiba and your experience with it as generally when it's mentioned on the forum it's about how flat it is and irrelevant when in the day you take it happens to be.

Time back I used to clean a biggish detached house, split upstairs/downstairs, elderly spinster lived upstairs, vicars daughter in a trust property, first house of the day, first window onto the hallway soaped up and mid clean with the squeegee and out of the bathroom she walked bless, starkers with a frozen shock horror look as she tried covering herself top to bottom to top, time stood still before a record breaking descent back down the ladders.
I sacked that day off :)

Lol, when I left school I worked briefly at a fruit veg/"Interflora" florist... I used to get out with the delivery guy. But this one job they sent me on a walk up the road on Valentine's Day...
So I buzzed this flat (city centre.) with a bunch of roses & gypsophila...

& this woman in her late 20s/early 30s? answered the door breathless, wearing nothing but a slipping duvet... Reflecting on it now..? Her "partner" must have been expecting the flowers & sent her down for the surprise?

You do what you can to cover others modesty inadequacies.. :nailbiting: whilst she juggled with the flowers & the post she'd picked up before opening the door..

If you wish me to recount the time "Damion" from the Omen followed me about a house whilst I did the interior? Lol, I can go on.... :D;)

Now I live in a flat no window cleaner ever turns up offering to clean the windows, but when I lived in houses, I remember the sound of the ladders being put against the window, and panicking.

Morning

5.8 on waking. Gave my usual ‘foot on the floor’ dose of 1.5 units before getting out of bed. It usually keeps me steady but dropping quickly today.

4.1 already- why??!

Another one of those mornings where I am now panicking that I will be late for work but can’t go anywhere until it stops dropping (have to drive).

Not how I planned my Tuesday morning.

p.s no hypo awareness means I feel absolutely fine at 4.1

Not sure on the driving thing the DVLA is one of the slowest to change anything unless it generates revenue for them ;)

Morning

Really screwed up last night was really tired so switched the alarms off went to bed somewhere around 7ish. Woke up 17.8 and when I looked at the overnight graph I had hit 22 for a couple of hours ~sigh~
Well some magic aspdistra left to do it's stuff for an hour or so plus toast and back in normal levels.

Hey oh load up some film an SD cards and out for a while..... :)

Morning all!

@kev-w & @Jaylee - this convo reminds me of the time my husband went around in a Reliant Robin sign written with “Hugh G Rection Scaffolders” and his actual phone number...

@Knikki - what cameras are you using? I still have a load of 120 rolls of Velvia in my fridge. Film where people keep butter, and insulin where people keep eggs...

@CranberryIce - hope your levels have come up quickly enough for you not to be late. I’m quite happy at 4.1 - as @helensaramay says, if there’s no IOB. From what I’ve read on the latest DVLA stuff, they will be accepting CGM readings of 4 and above in the future, just not yet. Until the rules get updated, we’ll still have to be able to prove bloods at >5 but I think change is coming.

Broke my unicorn this morning, after 36 hours. Just suddenly soared from 5.1 to 7.6 in the space of ten minutes... I’ve noticed this the last couple of weeks, not had anything but black coffee as I don’t tend to eat until mid afternoon. I wonder if it’s the caffeine? But it doesn’t happen every day, and I drink a LOT of coffee, all through the day, every day, up until about 7pm. No problems with sleep either.

Good late morning y'all :/ a self inflicted lo for me, I'd woken up around 3am to a 10,3, simples thinks me and takes .5u correction to stumble out of an overslept in bed at gone 8am, I've had exploding porridge again and an egg jumped out of my hand to smash on the floor, and to cheer me up even more I forgot to put coffee in my stovetop so brewed a cup of hot water instead.

The joys but I'm alright now, 5.6

Tresiba? Yeah, a mostly flat line for me, but a drop off too, it's consistent which Lantus wasn't towards the end for me, Weetabix supper was always based on where I was on that day, sometimes none if trending high, 1 if under 7 and 2 if under 5 usually gave me a good wake up, 'usually' being the standard I aim for, if that makes sense.

This is good news! I used to be wary of ever being under 5, but now I'm keto, I'm quite happy in the 4's and occasionally high 3's...

Hi @kev-w, The bad diabetes gremlin worked overtime at your place it seems. Do you ned to put a sign on the front door -" No gremlins allowed - but will make exception for the good diabetes gremlin in 3 days" - to allow for clean up and mental relaxation !! It could be worse. I put my breakfast in the coffee cup with a raw egg, dropped the cup and slipped on the mess !!! Deadlier than banana skins !!
