He may be wrong about that. Whilst I'd agree that sub-3.5 mmol/l overnight is probably a little low, there's now been a load of work done that shows that non-T1Ds regularly end up between 3.3 and 3.7 for long periods overnight...it showed him as below 3.5 all night which as a non-diabetic he wasn't. He also told me the sensors are heat sensitive
@Knikki, have you had rises in bg as you would normally after a hypo that show you really were low overnight? I ask because mine sometimes shows hypo overnight when I know I wasn't; also saw a consultant yesterday who told me he'd worn one to see what it was like and it showed him as below 3.5 all night which as a non-diabetic he wasn't. He also told me the sensors are heat sensitive but the conversation then went in another direction so I didn't get to explore that....
Sorry to hear this, never a good start to the day. Must admit I always double check with my monitor when Libre shows below 4 or above 10 as I've found that at the extremes the sensors seem, for me anyway, to be less reliable. I'd also second @Juicyj, jelly babies live in my bedside cabinet
I hope so Alison, but it’s a postcode lottery.
I had to read, reread and then expand the text from my message to understand what relevance this had. I'm afraid I live in a disposable world and that seems to include my own thoughts.
Now, I understand you are not suggesting sultanas distract from the spirituality of yogabut are an easy mouldy clementine carb replacement .
I must admit, I have used dried fruit (apricots rather than raisins or sultanas) as hypo treatment when I was in the kitchen and fancied a change from GlucoTabs.
But, yesterday, I didn't need a fast fix so went for a couple of small crackers (not the ritz variety though) and some peanut butter.
Hopefully, today's breakfast of mango will be less eventful.
Good morning all. Woke to a 12 this morning. No alarms as the misses gave me a roasting for them going off the night before (oops). Steady on a 9 now
Well said @tim2000s with regards to the pump, do you want to come with me to my pump meeting
FairyGodMother - You have an LE postcode, don't you?
Thanks Tim that's really interesting. Just goes to show I was right about one thing - the more I learn the less I think I know!He may be wrong about that. Whilst I'd agree that sub-3.5 mmol/l overnight is probably a little low, there's now been a load of work done that shows that non-T1Ds regularly end up between 3.3 and 3.7 for long periods overnight...
And the Libre is definitely sensitive to temperature. It contains two thermistors (temperature related resistors) that produce values that are included in the Algorithm's calculations. Hot baths, and to a lesser extent, hot showers, definitely affect it.
Morning all, I found myself at 2.4 at about 11 pm last night, this has been happening a bit too often recently. I think I might have to make a phone call. I think it happens at the time the evening levemir dose starts to say hello, and as the bolus says goodbye, with it's little kick in the tail.
I think I'm going to have to make a phone call............
Yep, I get the panic thing, not funny at allI do keep jelly beans beside my bed and normally use these if my BG is around 3.5 as i find they are a little slow at bringing BG up quickly. My go to thing to increase my BG, is a cup of warm coffee with 3 or so sugars well stirred for the instant hit followed by a couple of biscuits. And within 5 minutes it was on the up
My really bad hypo a couple of weeks ago had my BG at 2.3, this mornings BG was 2.1 hence the reason i was maybe panicking slightly, which of course does not help
I get that kick in drop too Alison, I’m also using Levemir. It usually rises if left to itself.
Yes, some nights it just goes down a little, but I'm not too keen on going down to 2.4.
I had gone to sleep on about 4.8, and assumed that would be ok, but then I woke up, and libre showed 2.9, and blood test 2.4. I'm not going to wait for that to rise.
I only had 3 units of novorapid for the evening meal, so there wasn't really any fast acting hanging around.
It’s a right old bullbaiter isn’t it! Makes one concerned about going to sleep and it going too low. Do you have a bit of carb before sleeping? I find that doing so is another concern as recently it’s only been taking about 10-15 grams and to raise bs to levels I find unacceptable.
I was going to comment about @smc4761 s pump dilemma, and was going to say log everything on the libre and then when push comes to shove it's all there in one place, they can't refute the data when it says if you don't correct you get DP, and if you do your control is good - but then @tim2000s has put it more succinctly!
@Cumberland nice pics, takes me back to when I were a lad on a school field trip up there aeons ago!
Good day all.
