good morning y'all a waking 5.1 for me happily enough but again I've briefly dropped under 4 sleeping and come back up again, but apart from that all's well

Halloween, a night you're obliged to hand out sugar sweets to the trick or treaters so I need to buy a bag of Haribo's or something, bah humbug and all that jazz

All very strange @Fairygodmother I'm presuming you're on a pump, I'm not.
Yesterday 7.30am fbg =8.5 Wacked it 1Novo as I was driving. No food, coffee & cream
10.30am BG =7.3, Liver dumping??? No food
13.15pm BG=10.1 Wacked it with 2Novo, meat and cheese lunch, 5g carb
15.30pm BG8.6 Wacked again 1Novo

Woke at 4am this morning or rather the middle of the night BG9
Real wake up 8am 6.9
Another shaky head moment but worried that I can't get Madam BG down to acceptable levels

@Robinredbreast cracking painting of John Wayne, it looks great as it is even though it's not finished! Your son is talented.

@smc4761 the straw that broke the camels back scenario, bawl away it does you good sometimes!

7.5 last night, 8.5 this morning, and was pretty steady and level over night.

Its what I refer, and others, sometimes, to the various insulins that I use so:

Dulac is Tresiba also called Degludec (long acting)

Aspidistra is Apidra (short acting)

Bit like Nova Rapid is more commonly know as Nova Sluggish or Nova Slow.
@Knikki What a plonker!! You can tell I've not been doing it for long

We are armed at the door with chocolate bars and the like....the only trouble is the curly wurleys keep disappearing!

Morning teabags! Had a great night’s sleep with good levels and no alarms, and feeling pretty jolly today.

Having a little trundle to the seaside this morning to meet a friend for coffee, and me and the teenager have a date at the cat cafe in Liverpool this afternoon. Looking forward to exploring “the city I’m from but don’t know very well” with my boy. I was adopted as a baby and got in touch with my birth family a few years ago - so while I’m from here, I don’t know the place very well. It’s an odd feeling - like home, but I’m unfamiliar with the geography. If that makes any sense.

Wishing you all a smooth sailing kind of a day

Child is refusing to celebrate Halloween - I have no excuses to stock up on excessive amounts of sweets for distribution/hording.

Love a spot of SoM, I’m back in my goth phase after a few years of trying to be a grown up. Realised I didn’t like it much!

I have to physically plug my Omnipod controller to my PC when I want to upload to Diasend. My phone transmits my Libre results automatically to both that and the Libre sorters, which I’ve got “shared” with my clinic. The Libre scanner needs a hard connection to upload as well.

Agreed, it is a very good film. Problem with the pictures is POPCORN. I LOVE popcorn, sweet popcorn. I limited myself to a small portion of it oh and an Iceblast and half a kitkat and kept my BGs under 10 all night

Was awoken my my Pebble buzzing my arm off early hours with a high 12.5.....went down stairs for a 4 unit correction dose and went back to bed, woke at 7am to a 11. Pretty strange night. And now my alarm is going off for a 3.9 grrr lol

Glad you enjoyed it too. I only have a drink at the cinema, I had a sausage sandwich and a yogurt before I went, 6 pm showing, but some women behind me was irritating me with her noisy wrapper, grrrr

Going to check my Bs now as I can feel it going up on this forum

I had some very surprising news today................. I have an African niece, born to a very close relative of mine, well there's a it's a lot to take in..................... so a nice cup of tea I think is in order.

Similar to my experience yesterday @SueJB, maybe it was the cold.
No, I’m not on a pump, I wish I were. Today’s been better; I had a couple of corrections to make during the night, and I could blame the cake response to Novostacking - I can really recommend lemon courgette cake Knikki, yummy, I think it’s made with polenta - and I decided the wooden mallet approach was called for this morning so 1.5 units for DP and another 2 as soon as it got to 7.9, then 1 for a 10g carb breakfast and a stack of masochistic jelly babies to hand just in case.
Stayed more or less in range all day with fewer corrections
.
It’s also warmer, the sun kept on shining, and since it wasn’t raining I had more exercise.
Cheerful but hoping it gets more predictable soon. May go back to the 8 evening units in a couple of days. Maybe I’ll have enough ammo for a pump though I’m not sure if I’ve got subcutaneous lumps or old-lady orange skin.
Talking of which I’m going to make a trivia version of Arancello for Christmas. And the hallowe’en treats have been chosen so that leftovers are perfect little hypo-cure bags.
Keep flying everyone ‍

Mine is the opposite, spent an hour this morning carving a pumpkin and decorating the front garden with skeletons, cobwebs and lights, she's now out with grandma now for a cookery lesson and back for 7pm when havoc will ensue.. I am a dutiful mum so oblige, however alter ego mum is thinking what a waste of money on this commercial enterprise, but until she leaves home I have to play along !!! I doubt there will be many sweets left after the whole village comes to visit though, so that's a positive.

I haven't had any halloween visitors since I moved here, there aren't really any children around. But there's a shop down the road that sells fancy dress costumes, and all the students go in there to buy stuff, it's quite cute really, but they are buying it all for parties, not for trick or treating.

When did we become so Ameicanized with this Trick or Treat nonsense. Sure in the 60's, (yes I am that old) when I was small person we would go round doors ourselves, no parents, sing a song, tell a joke etc and we got maybe some sweets, fruit etc. Halloween then seemed to become a non event up until about 10/15 years ago when Trick or Treat started. All of a sudden we wanted pumpkins as well.

WHY

I don't know. I don't remember trick or treating, but I do remember ducking apples, can't remember whether there was a pumpkin there or not, though, just the apples in the bowl of water.

Perhaps we should reintroduce that, instead of sweets, tell any callers they can try and get an apple out of the water.

I think it was when retailers realised they were missing a trick and there was money to be made !
