All very strange @Fairygodmother I'm presuming you're on a pump, I'm not.In desperation I’ve changed the NovoSnail vial to one from a different batch, wacked in the dose for supper carb and waited. BS slowly slowly came down to 5.4 - it took over two hours - so I put in an extra 1.5 ready for the second lot of carb only to find that him indoors had already taken half of what I’d saved in hope. No matter, I had a slice of lemon courgette cake hidden in my bag, I’d bought it in a cafe this afternoon when we were out for a very very blowy walk by a rough sea, but Madame BS said thou shalt not so they kindly wrapped it up for me to take away.
Rarely has anything tasted better. I ate a strip of it half an hour ago and have just finished the rest as Madame BS now down to 3.1. It’s going to be a tricky night.
@KnikkiIts what I refer, and others, sometimes, to the various insulins that I use so:
Dulac is Tresiba also called Degludec (long acting)
Aspidistra is Apidra (short acting)
Bit like Nova Rapid is more commonly know as Nova Sluggish or Nova Slow.
good morning y'alla waking 5.1 for me happily enough but again I've briefly dropped under 4 sleeping and come back up again, but apart from that all's well
Halloween, a night you're obliged to hand out sugar sweets to the trick or treaters so I need to buy a bag of Haribo's or something, bah humbug and all that jazz![]()
Child is refusing to celebrate Halloween - I have no excuses to stock up on excessive amounts of sweets for distribution/hording.We are armed at the door with chocolate bars and the like....the only trouble is the curly wurleys keep disappearing!![]()
Love a spot of SoM, I’m back in my goth phase after a few years of trying to be a grown up. Realised I didn’t like it much!Hallowe'en is not a big thing in our house. Probably something to do with the lack of kids in the house. And, now the street.
May also have a little bit to do with me finally growing out of my goth stage ... although I still enjoy a blast of Sisters of Mercy every now and again.
So, no extra chocolates or sweets in the house which helps keep temptation away. And that is something which has improved since the corner shopped closed last year - I used to wander down in the afternoon to take a break from work and a breath of fresh air and end up picking up an Aero or some such.
On a completely different note, I just spotted this - "connected insulin pens". They look like a step up from the Novo Echo pens which transmit your dose to your smartphone app.
Looks neat to me. I now want the same tech in my pump as it must be easier than uploading it to Diasend whenever I have the patience to balance the wireless transmitter over the little window on the back and then realise it has moved and start again and then realise it has moved again and start again and then realise ... Which is never.
I don't know what upload capability other pumps have but this is my least favourite "feature" of the Animas Vibe.
Agreed, it is a very good film. Problem with the pictures is POPCORN. I LOVE popcorn, sweet popcorn. I limited myself to a small portion of it oh and an Iceblast and half a kitkat and kept my BGs under 10 all nightThe film, Bohemian Rhapsody was very good, Rami Malek who played Freddie was brilliant and even though I wasn't a big follower of Queen, I would highly recommend it , I loved it.
10.1 at the moment, that was probably the latte at the cinemaNight all zzzzz

When did we become so Ameicanized with this Trick or Treat nonsense. Sure in the 60's, (yes I am that old) when I was small person we would go round doors ourselves, no parents, sing a song, tell a joke etc and we got maybe some sweets, fruit etc. Halloween then seemed to become a non event up until about 10/15 years ago when Trick or Treat started. All of a sudden we wanted pumpkins as well.
WHY
