Morning my pancreatically challenged chums hope you all had a good night
Well after yesterdays adventures of day 1 on pump with the constant drops I went to bed with lots of trepidation.
But I need not have worried this pump lark is easy. Went to bed on a BG of 4.1 took 20 g of carbs though to be safe. Think I woke up every hour on the hour and tested. A slight rise to 6.9 at one point but mostly around BG of 5. Did wake at 5pm with a drop to 4.0 and diagonal going down on Libre so couple of jelly beans and woke at 7.30 to a 5.5 Perfect.
Off for my diabetic eye screening at 9 am so hope you all have a lovely day.
PS love Wispa Cumbs, the dog, oooh and the chocolate
@Cumberland super cute, with a very shiny coat, and an identification tag nearly as big.
Good morning all
Well chest infection is back with a vengeance. Bloods all over the shop at the moment and am barking/coughing constantly!
@smc4761 good luck with your screening today. Hope your pump behaves for you. Have you a name for it as yet?
@Cumberland Wispa is cuteness overload
Morning all, wet and windy here in Somerset, bg behaving fairly well. @smc4761 good luck, @porl69 hope you feel better, nice work on the photo @Jaylee, @Cumberland you must be in love already......
Sorry you have been having some pumping challenges.
I do not remember what basal insulin you were on before starting the pump. However, I was told my Lantus would remain in my body for up to 4 days. Whilst this was at a low level it could result in some hypos for the first few days. This matched my experience.
Therefore, my advice would be to do a temporary basal to take into consideration the left over slow acting insulin rather than making big changes to your basal program.
@Jaylee
Thank you very much for your intervention it’s much appreciated
Wispa sends you her best wishes
Good evening all.
@smc4761 . Pump challenge sounds daunting, think I’ll stick with mdi. @porl69 . Hope you’re feeling better in the very near future if not already. @Cumberland , was thinking I’d missed out on seeing Wispa but thanks to @Jaylee all is good. An absolute cutie for sure. Coordinated socks and wallpaper. As a wallpaper printer I’ll be pushing the designers at work to consider a new sales promotion .
@helensaramay . Let me know if you want some wallpaper to match those lovely socks..
Anyone been watching Baptiste?

@Cumberland Wispa does look very nice, I will keep an eye for you when ever we are in Keswick
@therower Baptiste? Nope believe it is ment to be good.
Still not sure about pumps and if anything like today would having been pushing the pump sliders to 11
A day full of technology frustrations that are still ongoing, so I is hitting both wine and chocolate in a bit.
@Knikki . It’s better than a lot of the stuff we usually get offered up on TV.
It’s a follow on from another series a while back called Missing, which was captivating.
Not for everyone I guess but we’re not soapy addicts in this house so we have to justify the TV licence somehow.
