Thank you, she’s a local dog and the breeder works at the hospital I used to work at and I know her by sight

So many puppy farms around and people saying they would bring puppy to ours to view which we declined

So we know that Wispa came from a good home we saw both parents and in an ironic twist she shares the same Grandmother as Banger (bless) and that they were cousins as Wispa’s father was the brother of Bangers mother.

Some rain overnight, Yes, the stuff we have seen twice since Christmas.
And a nice, cool 20 degree day.
I spent most of it in a room with other healthcare consumers looking at the second draft of a revised Australian 'Charter of Patient Rights'. We were quite vocal with the 2 poor presenters in term of ideas and not accepting any watering down.
For example we wished for patients or their representative to not only have access to read their clinical record, particularly in hospital, but to also write or have other record like auditory etc in the record. For example If I read my record and noted something I could write." I note that it has not been recorded that I am also allergic to Drug X" - that could mean the difference between life and death !!
But you say, you just tell the nurse or doctor. But what if they get distracted? As one participant said,' The nurse wrote the information I gave him on a serviette and dropped it on the way out'!!
The response from the People in Government was: "Well he would need to ask the clinicians and hospitals."
To which one of us said: " But they will just see it as extra work. And anyway have you ever seen a policy that bans people writing in their own notes? And by what legal right could they do so?"
The chilling thing is that there is a 'record-keeping mantra' taught to clinicians, I was told: " If it is not written down, it did not happen". So if the clinician does not write something in the record, how can the patient later prove that he or she did say this or that etc? Or that this or that happened".
The meeting required a 130% of usual basal rate - that seemed to keep me under control, except verbally. !!!!!
 
@Cumberland No, no dog. Lots of relatives and friends with dogs. Have a friend with 4 rescue greyhounds. Wispa would be able to run around under their legs all day. Or she would if they stood for long enough, they are very sleepy dogs!

My Bolus dose has also been almost halved as well, which has resulted in me being highish most of the day, around 8--10. I will run with it tomorrow and if still same will change my carb ratio gradually.

Really surprised by my overnight figures which seemed pretty spot on

Actually, I used to edit a lot of dog pics... Just be thankful i didn't go overboard..

Back from my diabetes appointment, in and out with Dr T and then talked to DSN, who is lovely. My next diabetes appointment, is within the hospital grounds is in April, DSN told this one is to fit a CGM for a 2 week trial, then, if I like it and it is beneficial, my June 26th appointment will confirm that I will get one, so all in all a good appointment. I bused up to the hospital because the weather wasn't nice, but walked back with no rain and with some breaks in the clouds too, very windy though.

@smc4761 . Pump challenge sounds daunting, think I’ll stick with mdi . @porl69 . Hope you’re feeling better in the very near future if not already. @Cumberland , was thinking I’d missed out on seeing Wispa but thanks to @Jaylee all is good. An absolute cutie for sure. Coordinated socks and wallpaper. As a wallpaper printer I’ll be pushing the designers at work to consider a new sales promotion .
@helensaramay . Let me know if you want some wallpaper to match those lovely socks. .

Still not sure about pumps and if anything like today would having been pushing the pump sliders to 11

A day full of technology frustrations that are still ongoing, so I is hitting both wine and chocolate in a bit.
 


Hi @therower like all things new the pump is going to be a challenge. Then again it has taken me months to tweek my MDI to a decent level and even then I still get it wrong sometimes (well my body does) Think the difference with pump is you can make minor adjustments at any time, without having to keep taking correction doses, you can also adjust/drastically reduce basal should the need arise

Reading numerous forums most folks who go on pump say they would never go back to MDI and control improves. I could certainly do with better control

@Knikki . It’s better than a lot of the stuff we usually get offered up on TV.
It’s a follow on from another series a while back called Missing, which was captivating.
Not for everyone I guess but we’re not soapy addicts in this house so we have to justify the TV licence somehow.
 
@smc4761 . Yes it does seem that people who move to pumps never look back ( have heard of one or two that don’t get on but few and far between). Like most things diabetes it takes time, effort and input. I’m sure you’ll have it cracked in next to no time.
 

Sounds like my sort of TV - I've not watched The Missing though so I've ordered the first series of that to watch. I'm usually a bit behind with series - I'm just going to finish Rellik tonight which was on a couple of years ago I think (but I've still enjoyed it ).
