@WuTwo feel free to post away and enjoy the very friendly banter on here.
Had my first decent walk today with new pump and of course it did not go well. BG had been very high all week, woke to a silly BG of 15.2 at 3.30 this morning, correction dose to bring it down, which I did but not by much only to BG 13.1 at 8.30.
Funnily enough the rest of the morning was actually OK by my standards, around BG of 7.5. Had lunch and bloused for that.
Went for a walk around local country park so nothing too strenuous, i was birdwatching so did not walk fast at all. I had started with a BG of 9.0 After about 25 minutes I did a Libre check BG of 7.6 and heading down. OK so had small bar of chocolate about 25g of carbs. About 20 minutes later gave another check, oooops 5.8 and heading straight down. Out with tester for finger test, BG 4.6. I am now about 30 minutes away from car in middle of some woods, not good. I am always prepared, so down about 200ml of full sugar Cola and back to car with a BG of 5.4
Of course the sugar demons have now kicked in and 1.5 hours after Cola I am now at BG of 11.1. Not great, but if I am out and about, I dont take any chances and will worry about the highs later.
Looks like a wee temp Basal may be needed if I go walkies.
This is going to be fun next week as I am off to Outer Hebrides for 5 days of walking, birdwatching and photography. In the middle of nowhere, where I may not see anyone for hours on end, I hope.
Seriously thinking of going back to MDI to be on safe side, for the 5 days
