@helensaramay your down south ain't you? Should not be to hard to find you striding through town with climbing rope over the shoulder biting the heads off jelly babies while hitting the spittoon as you enter the gym ;):hilarious:

I'll be round in a bit for slice of the lovely looking bread :joyful: Does it come with mum's home made jam as well?

And on a side note I'm sat here with brew eating the last of the wedding cake while the champagne cools before hitting the hot tub.:)

@helensaramay They don't have a drool option in the "like" list. I'd have selected it. :hungry:

I adore fresh bread. My husband makes ours most of the time. There are times when it is wonderful having a husband who retired years ago! (He took early retirement and decided to become a house-husband).

@ Mel dCP outrageous behaviour. And awful that you do not actually feel safe. As someone mentioned last week, awful to think these cretins are the future.

Late to this party, I'll have sourdough, jam & fizz please, and an almighty bottle of wine, huge bar of choclit and an escape route for you, @Mel dCP - what an utterly hideous experience. Agree with everyone who's said there's a duty of care from employers to staff.

Thanks for your lovely messages, hope I didn’t worry anyone too much. I don’t think I’ll be returning there, apparently they have huge difficulties retaining supply staff. The worst bit was getting a telling off from the head because I was behind the desk rather than among the kids on the floor. Hey ho. Tomorrow is another day, in another school. Bloods stayed steady in the 4s and 5s, so looks like even my adrenaline was too scared to make an appearance hahaha.

That bread looks amazing @helensaramay !

Good evening all.
@helensaramay . I see you’re at it again. Trying to lure us in with your homemade wares. :). Bread looks delicious, give yourself a pat on the back.

@Mel dCP . No one should have to put up with what you are having too in order earn a living let alone educate people. Get out of there , you’re far far better than they deserve.

Mel, my first thought was that this was an April Fool - no phone connection but posting here - but if it’s for real then no, don’t go back unless it’s to put some sedatives in the canteen foods, no doubt high fat high sugar, no veg, no fruit? There was an interesting behavioural experiment back in the days that found changing a diet could change behaviour. Don’t think diet’s the only factor, but hey ho.

A lot of these kids have been so badly let down by the system - and they’re frustrated and angry. I had a few English classes where they’re only being entered for Foundation Level, and the highest grade they can possibly get is a D. They know they’ve been written off. Problem is, when you go into a classroom cold, you have no idea which kids have what issues, or who is likely to kick off. They’re angry at you because their regular teacher isn’t in, yet gleeful because they think they have carte blanche to behave as they want. I often hear cheers when they see they have a supply - not because they’re pleased to see me, but because they feel they have total freedom to run riot. I actually feel safer responding to 999 calls than I did in there today. @Fairygodmother - if only! I was using the laptop they’d given me to use for the day, so I had internet.

Late to the party fellow teabags and what a party.

Mel, no job is worth that hassle. Sure the kids may have had a rough time, haven't we all at some point dont remember things like that in a classroom though. Dont know why teachers put up with such ****. Big hug from me.

Helen, bread looks fabby doozy.

Was going to go for a meal to celebrate my beloved birthday to a carvery style place. As luck would have it when I checked on the website for menu there was a PDF of the nutritional info. BLEEDIN HELL, I never knew the carbs in some, sorry most of their meals was so high and I am talking seriously high. Battered fish and chips, 146g of carbs, Hunters chicken and chips 160 g of carbs and more for some other popular dishes. Even the saturated fats were ridiculous per portion. Fish and chips 237% of your daily allowance.

Decided to give it a miss and have a lovely Indian buffet instead, only a little rice and no nan bread, how good was I

Those are huge totals in the restaurants! Shockingly so.

Morning all - an amazing 4.4 this morning which leaves me a totally happy bunny.

Long day at work today but I've got it carefully planned out so if I can only get to follow the schedule it should flow quite nicely.

Had a really early night last night and I'm still sleep-drugged with it. When I've had the coffee I'll wake up a bit, and then I'll geel great. Certainly Dizzy had a much happier night

And now - coffee .......

Morning peeps.

Sorry to hear about your woes at work, Mel. I worked in children's residential homes for a spell and eventually got to a point where I decided it wasn't worth crushing my sanity any longer.

Helen, your bread looks totally awesome!

Recently, my nights have been routinely disturbed by xdrip alarms, so I'm grateful not to have been woken last night for a change. Off down to Looe for a job today. Shame the sun isn't out like yesterday.

Have a good Tuesday peeps.

Yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyaaàaaaaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Morning.

It's stopped raining here and I can hear, but no see, cloud to low, the RAF trainers flying around. Years ago you would see Harriers, Tornadoes and Helicopters flying too but not these days, they are rare :(

Still sat here laughing at the incompetent Westminister while looking at a lovely view out this here holiday shed.

Have a fun day.

Morning all, can't remember the last time I got wet cycling in to work, probably when it last snowed back in Jan! Obviously other than today! :meh:

Less said about BGs the better, beer and pizza...........not a good combination...........oh well knuckling back down nicely now.

Nice looking bread Helen - I'm actually thinking you bought them at some local farmers market...........:angelic::playful:

Mel I'm not surprised if they have trouble keeping full time staff let alone stand-ins!

Morning all! Different school today, let’s see how that goes, eh?

Bit low at 3.8 this morning but up to a nice 5.1 for the journey to work. Have a good one, all

Good luck Mel.
What would you have done to change things for yesterday’s lost kids?
