Eugh. That's my keyword for the last 24 hours.

Can't drive to an appointment because of a sudden drop that I caught early because of the shakes - eugh.
Kept slowly sliding down afternoon and evening despite moderate amounts of biscuits and glucotabs - eugh.
Went to sleep with a 5.6 and woke to an 11.7 - eugh.

Some days I just want some headspace from diabetes. You can plough all your effort and brain power in and get diminishing returns.

Liked out of empathy for you

Morning all. Woke at 7 on a 9.4, unimpressed. 3u and it’s only come down to 8.2 so had another 1.5u so suspect it’s the beginning of the regular (but not regular enough to adjust Tresiba for) monthly insulin resistance. Being a spectacular nob, I hadn’t actually set up the alarms in Spike properly (it’s a bit techy and complicated - while I love my gadgets, I’m no programmer) so again slept through it oblivious. Lower back is howling too, so don’t expect much sense from me!

Hope you’re all well, hangovers and hypos notwithstanding. Like @db89 I’d really like just one day off from T1.

Just reading about Dr Thomas Willis (1621-75) who added the word “mellitus” to the “Diabetes” already coined by the Greek physician Aretaeus in the first century. He also referred to it as the “****** evil”.... ya know how we’re always saying we need new names for the different kinds of D? Reckon T1s should claim this one ;)

Grrrrrrr:banghead: so after my standard size porridge my bloods started rising, usually this requires a unit or two and I'm trending high at the moment, so I had 2u and dropped to 3.4 at work in 2 hours....

Meh.

Porridge has a mind of it's own, and refuses to conform to the behaviour ascribed to it in books by dietitians.
