Yep - toesies showing for the summer means we have to have lovely nail varnish! Of course, we can still put the DM's on over if we want, but with the go-to-work berks - got to get me some nail varnish.

Afternoon

Just been pub lunch with some family, which was very nice although the old man was complaining about not hearing people, then moaned about his hearing aids its like when I go round to his house and he has the TV or radio on I can hear it from half way down the drive :hilarious:

Managed to carb guess lunch, yes will post in the T1 food thread later but after driving around for most of the afternoon now sitting in the mid 3's so sort of hypo territory, guess I will just have to go find some chocolate :joyful:
Wot no Jaffa cakes?

Yoyo this afternoon, dropped as far as 3.7 so took it as a brilliant opportunity to drink a bottle of elderflower cider. It worked a treat. Chinese 5 spice duck with chilli plums and beans for lunch cooked by Mr B while I marked exam papers. Planted some sweet peas while the sun was out earlier. Love Jaffa cakes and pasties especially love the smell of the West Cornwall Pasty shops but I suppose it's like a lot of things, the smell is often better than the real thing. Love the smell of fish and chips but can't stand eating them.

Thanks for all the hugs, everyone!

Just completed an unintentional afternoon/evening basal test... it would seem the morning Levemir does last 18 hours for me, and that the current 2x per day times are not actually as way out as I was wondering. It was only unintentional as I was out at a relatively unusual time, not too active, but had kept testing to see if I needed a snack as I wasn't going to get to eat until past nine.. I'd been a slightly high, but steady number for 6 hours so decided I might as well keep going, as I wasn't hungry!!

I'm back down to a more preferred number now I've pre-bolused and have eaten a small meal.

Morning friends :)

I woke up a bit later because my bf made me watch another episode of Breaking Bad and wouldn't let me sleep until we've finished that episode. :hilarious:
I woke up on 9.7 and I'm figuring out what to have for breakfast but we do need a food shop run today - how does homemade beef burgers sound? :hilarious:

I am having scrambled tofu with small pieces of seitan stirred through, and tinned cherry tomatoes with parmegan on top.

But first - strong black filter coffee to bring me round.....

But - a happy 5.3 to start the day after totally guestimating insulin for dinner.

I went hypo after dinner yesterday because potato me forgot to reduce insulin after rage cleaning. It was worth for shiny floors and clean laundry. I usually clean in small intervals but the full works is making my diabetes scream "where are my extra oreos? no oreos, more hypos"

I have boring tasks this morning - ironing, the next batch of sorting/donating etc After that I want a shower and hairwash. Meanwhile keeping an eye on a bruise that has developed under my big toe nail. I can't remember it at last week's foot inspection. (I do feet weekly, get rid of hard skin, check I haven't trod on anything sharp I didn't notice etc) I'm going to take a close up pic each night for the next week and see how she goes.

I make my own beefburgers and they are lovely, especially with lots of fried onions, or is it lots of fried onions with the burger :hungry: Enjoy your day:)

Morning everyone, just having my first cuppa, then another and looking forward to seeing my baby granddaughter today, as it's her 1st birthday tomorrow, but I wont be able to see her tomorrow because of 2 appointment's. So, i need to remove nik naks that are within her reach to make it Cleo friendly <3
Another double figure BS this morning, so :eek:.
Have a good Monday folks :)

Indeed, my bf puts a slice on cheese on top of the cooked patty in the pan. He was sad because I said no to buying burger buns and he didn't realised he is the only person that eats the bun. (I don't think it's worth 240kcal for a bun) :hilarious:

Morning.

Hovering round the 6.0 mark thinking about going to the gym but prefer to be up around the 8.0 before doing that. Will do some more work on the Wedding Album.

Might go have a low carb brekky like 92g carbs instead of 99 :hilarious::hilarious::hilarious:
@Knikki that’s nearly as many carbs as I have a day - did you leave out a decimal point?

I’m lazy and buy steak burgers which we have with fried onions and a ‘plastic’ cheese slice on top in a ciabatta roll - although I dont eat all of the roll as it’s too much.

It's a beautiful day outside, :)

Does anyone think it's better to store textbooks on a shelf with a book stand or in magazine holders or lay it on it's back? My book and textbook collection is growing and I don't think we are going to ikea any time soon. :hilarious:

@MeiChanski - as long as the textbooks are out of range of the coffee mugs (in the event of spillage) I don't mind where mine go - I have needlework, crochet, cookery and bookkeeping text books all sort of jumbled up in the hall bookcase. There are a few other text books in there too - depends on what grabs my interest when I'm oozing round Amazon.

On the floor beside me is a small pile of mags - Vegan Living, World of Cross Stitching and Vegan Food. Also - a needlework basket (lid down), my personal A4 recipe folder of tried, trusted, wanna try recipes.

The books are safe - the mags can turn to papier mache if necessary, but books are kept safe!

WuTwo - I had a similar injury, about 6 months after diagnosis and saw the walk-in podiatrist for a check over.

She was unconcerned, but happy I'd rocked up. Her advice was to photograph to toenail, weekly, but to eyeball it daily. She considered there would unlikely be anything to notice more frequently than that, but if I did to high-tail it back to her.

The idea of weekly pic was to watch the diagnosed bruise creep up the nail bed (which it did).

I hope it goes and you don't end up losing the nail, or half of the nail as it was in my case.

@DCUKMod Thanks for your post! The advice is much appreciated and I'll keep it well in mind. It's simple enough to check a toe after bathing each day, and that's what I'll do.

(I say simple enough but thank heavens I'm flexible. My eyesight is such that a close up peer at my toes involves sitting on the floor and bringing my foot nice and close to my eyes. My vision is clearest without glasses, but then I focus about 6" from my nose! This is gonna look hilarious :hilarious: )
