We don't have an Asda anywhere near here. Who are Abbott please?
Most pharmacies can order the Libre. They might have to make a special order, but they do it all the time for unusual, to them, supplies.

If you get the Libre it gives you a really great picture of the undulating journey your blood glucose levels make throughout the day and night. You can see how different foods and exercise and the timing of insulin doses affects your blood glucose. But the Libre,s accuracy of what your level is at any given time varies between individuals. I used Libre for over 2 years and the sensors always read a bit low. Abbott also says that the Libre loses accuracy at the extremes of readings - both low and high. So best to check with a finger prick if you are going to act on a reading.
If you want to improve accuracy and spare your fingers you can buy add on transmitters such as Blucon and Miao Miao. The former is from the U.S , the latter China. They transmit via Bluetooth to an open source app on your phone - IOS and android. There are also other CGMs such as Dexcom and Guardian 3.
As a relatively long term user of CGMs I would suggest that you start with Libre- it’s the cheapest option, reliable and does what it promises. I hope this overview helps. Cheers. Leeanne

P.S. I forgot to say that the one thing the Libres available at the moment in the UK won’t do is give alarms for high or low blood glucose levels. For that you need the add-ons or the Dexcom or Guardian.

Morning Knikki - you are very colourful this morning.

At a happy 6.00 this morning. After today there's two days at home

Morning @MeiChanski - I haven't had any coffee yet. Ignore me.....

Morning all, can't do work today throat is still bad and I can hardly speak, which is a problem when I am supposed to be front of store promoting a brand, but they will have to get someone else.
Made a cuppa and sipping it very slowly.
Have a great Friday, TGIF

@Robinredbreast - ice-cream, when you're ready to eat. Lines the throat, numbs it a little and is deeply comforting if you get the chocolate. (I favour the Ben & Jerry's vegan chocolate fudge ice-cream, but whatever rolls your sausage)

Rest - watch old movies on the telly, don't bust a gut doing housework. Poorly people need to heal up!

No rest I'm afraid, acting Manager has rang me asked if I could struggle in( first thing she said on the phone was, oh you do sound bad) as they are desperate, so I am going, but if I get any worse I am off home on the first bus !

Morning all - double figures this morning for me so got the trainers on and ran it off, now at 8 mmol/l, off to the Olympicks tonight - Cotswold style, tug of war and welly throwing, should be fun.

Hope today goes well @Robinredbreast and you manage to shake the bug.

@Juicyj - that sounds fantastic fun! I wanna play welly throwing! (At this point I should mention I was banned from playing darts at my local because I was a danger to the drinking public ....)

Huge excitement in our house. We have finally and at last (with today'ssavings from my pay cheque) saved up enough to buy a new sofa and chairs for the sitting room. It has taken ages but I refuse to go on credit. If I retire early for some reason how on earth would we pay the bill? It's wait, save and pay cash for us at this stage of our lives.

Tomorrow we go and choose. Then just before it's eventually delivered I get strong son and equally strong mate round to move existing furniture so the Council can pick it up. Sadly it is beyond being donated. But yippee

Can't I order them direct?

Thanks @leanne, lots of info but I'm afraid my eyes glazed over with Blucon, Miao Miao Bluetooth IOS, CGMs. My mobile doesn't work, would Libre send to a computer?

P.S. I forgot to say that the one thing the Libres available at the moment in the UK won’t do is give alarms for high or low blood glucose levels. For that you need the add-ons or the Dexcom or Guardian.
More info thanks @Leeannea, glazing again

Awoke to an 8.8 this morning. Happy with that and that’s without CGM at moment.
Shopping done.
Off out now to a localish town to hit the charity shops and follow up with a lunch out.
If the sun makes an appearance it’ll be a 100% day.
Enjoy your Friday everyone.

@WuTwo Forgot to mention the shinkicking too - it's quite a good way to relieve some tension !!
