Type 1'stars R Us

Morning everyone, enjoy the day. Didn’t get to the dump yesterday, him indoors took the first load though while I cleared up what he’d left on the soil and went on to dig out revealed weeds.
Did go shopping for food and fuel: popped into Asda to use the loo and found strips of plants reduced to 50p - not in the loo, tho a bit of living greenery would be nice in any supermarket loo, especially if it also had good scents - anyway, back on track, got lots of cheap plants to fill all the new spaces.
Planting today, and back still aching from yesterday.
Oh, yes, 6.6 this morning.

Morning all.
Went bed last night high as a kite:) administered novorapid to combat over exuberant pre Father's Day celebrations.
Surprisingly Dexcom line looked like an Airbus a380 coming into land at Heathrow for a perfect touchdown.
Sometimes "winging it " is the only way to go.
Dexcom and BS were spot on as well (day 16 ) looking good for a 3 week'er.:).
Don't forget it's Father's Day, it's once a year, if the kids ( or grandkids ) get you something totally inappropriate it's because they love you, their DAD. ;);)

After completely misjudging a take away meal - it seems I had a similar experience, with the exception that 'my' plane was still in flight on waking. We live and learn!

I’m still on a good streak although woke at 11 this morning. Feeling pretty rubbish tho. I went to a kids party yesterday and spent most of it explaining diabetes type 1 to another Dad and I’m exhausted by that. I seem to be good for 2 weeks and then really foggy and down for the following 2 weeks. But it’s Father’s Day so I’ve gotta smile.

Hi @urbanracer . I think it was more luck than anything for me.
Look at it this way.
You're still flying but at least you can start to come in for a safe landing now. You could quite easily have crashed and burned during the night and spent all today trying to repair all the damage.
Living and learning is what makes us human. Bloody boring if we were all perfect.

Morning comrades.

@Robinredbreast - sending massive cwtches (Welsh hugs) to you today xxx

@therower & @urbanracer happy landings!

I woke at 0520 with a 6.9 and foolishly thought I wouldn’t take my stupid o’clock foot on the floor dose as I’d had some wine last night. Schoolboy error, woke up at 8 with a 9.1 :banghead: Aggressive 3u correction... Otherwise smooth sailing overnight. Nearly-fifteen-year-old had an Indian takeaway last night, I’d made a mushroom stroganoff and had that with roasted cauliflower rice and fried sprouted mung beans.

Off down to Somerset a little later to see my dad, he’s dead set on having a barbecue with cake, even though I don’t eat meat. Or bread. And it’s raining. So I’m making a “no-tato” salad with roasted radishes, some little lemon cakes with almond flour and a tinfoil parcel of salmon to take with me.

Also, it’s B*ll*cks the cat’s birthday, so there’s going to be some tuna later.

Love your cat’s name Mel. Just out of interest, does he still have them? Or is the cat a she? Even better.

Morning y'all :) I woke to a 9 so all's well, invited to middle childs for dinner with youngest child, and the eldest's going too to help cook. which is cool as they know what I will and won't eat :) like 2 starters and no pudding.

My morning's a trip to the car boot sale, a visit to the crem where my dad is then, provided my bloods are ok I really need to go swimming as it's 2 weeks since this body has exercised and my insulin requirements are increasing with the inactivity. And I'm sure there's the beginnings of a paunch :(

Porridge, bacon sausage egg and a hash brown I think, (the hash brown's food of course :p ) as the cheapskate found a £3 tray breakfast for 30p in the shop last night for his treat :)

Have a good one!

Hey @Tony337 . Just a suggestion but how about joining ....smug and git to create a bespoke word.
Smuggit. meaning. A type 1 diabetic of long standing.
" oh hello newbie, sorry I can't answer your question but I'll tag a smuggit who can help"
:):):):):):)
Love this.....
If there’s such a ridiculous thing as a diabuddy then smuggit is a winner...
When I typed smuggit the spell checker changed it to smug gut which made me laugh out loud which I don’t do very often.....

Happy times and places

Tony

Son of mine bought me a bottle of aperol and cava for Father’s Day now I tried this in Gran Canaria in may and liked it but I fear it’s a bit on the sweet side so I’ll let you know how I get on.
Aperol spritz here I come......

Breakfast of champions!
Love your cat’s name Mel. Just out of interest, does he still have them? Or is the cat a she? Even better.
It’s three years to the day since he permanently mislaid them - he was a local stray, and we nicknamed most of the according to their physical characteristics. He had the biggest clangers I’ve ever seen on a cat! Then he kept coming into the house, eating Fidel’s food and spraying up the curtains. And having the most distressing infected wounds from being rubbish at fighting. We contacted the vet, and between us decided to do a “trap, neuter, release” for the sake of his long term health. So we caught him, they did the do, and we kept him in overnight to recover. Went to release him the next day, and he just curled up on the sofa and went to sleep! He’s completely in love with my husband, and grooms his beard with his claws...

And that’s why we have a cat named B*ll*cks. In other “naming local strays after their appearance and them moving in”, there is also Hitlerina... a tiny little girl cat (abandoned by the horrible neighbours when they moved away) who looks very much like Hitler, actually does Nazi salutes, and invaded the house, but I’ll save that for another time. She’s now called Ira, and the salutes have been renamed as high fives :)

Happy Father#'s Day all you dia-daddys out there!
14.5 on first test due to taking a day off diabetes= not testing and guessing bolus doses whilst eating carbs (the writing off of the day was justified as a cure for hangover and luckily I don't usually mix up wine with sweet cocktails but just had a Friday feeling).
So toffees and Ritz crackers are not very rock and roll but I am back on it this morning and loving my keto porridge. Not a very Smuggit tale.

Awoke to a 4.6 and a bad headache bad start to the day

Hope you all have a very good day

@Mel dCP . I'm there now in some idyllic Welsh valley admiring all nature has to offer when all of a sudden the tranquility and peace is broken............" OMG look at the clangers on him as a leather clad biker roars by ":)

Good morning all and happy Father's Day to all you dads.

Was at a friends last night and couldn't resist a pavlova so went high over night and woke at 3am tested at 15 corrected and woke at 9.1, still coming down but managed to cut down a really tall leylandi hedge so expecting that to drop further now.. Highest I've been in a while, mental note that guesstimating can go seriously wrong but it was worth it !

Hope your numbers keep improving for you and thanks for the Father’s Day greeting

My son is living and working in China so not able to see him in the flesh (sigh)
