Ha ! Humour trumps everything !! I can see the start of some Dalek jokes ! I call my Animas pump, Limpet.
I liked @mountaintom ‘s nickname of T1000 best!

Talking of Daleks, we were saying only last night how amusing it would be if they spoke in regional dialects, which sparked the very silly game of “DALEK DIALECT”, basically saying “EXTERMINATE” in a variety of silly accents... Some wine may have happened along the way ;)

:borg: INSULINATE :borg:

Ha! Sounds like DP is an airliner due to land at X hours !

It is! And sometimes subject to delays, but it eventually takes off and heads for the stratosphere

I have weddings and a birthday party to come...

How do people cope with ‘food pushers’? I have lots of them in my family. They just don’t understand the need for me to pre-bolus.

Depends on what is being pushed :shifty: if it is anything Tuna based then a polite 'No thanks' however anything else is fair game, eat, enjoy inject later.

It depends whether I want what is being pushed.
If I do, I bolus in front of them and then eat straight away.
It is not always possible to pre-bolus. For example, if I am eating out (or round family and friends), I don’t know how much to bolus until i see the food and there is no way I am going to stare at my food for 30 minutes whilst everyone tucks into theirs.
It is only with the advent of Libre that we have become of the short term spikes from mistimed pre bolus and there are some 50+ years people with diabetes who are still going and they never had today’s technology for the first 30/40 years.
As long as I usually pre-bolus, I don’t stress.

If I don’t want what is being pushed, diabetes makes a good, polite reason to decline.

Yep back in the day before all this technology made things easier to deal with, I never worried about it, if I was high later on just inject more.

@Fairygodmother the nerf gun sounds good an always is a way of making sure I get the cake :smug:

Thank you for all your suggestions :)

nerf gun it is....!

Evening @Knikki .
Gotta ask you a quick question.
Do you listen to Liza Tarbuck on Radio 2?
Sounds like we’ve been on similar rides at the fairground today.:)
Maybe tomorrow it’ll be a more sedate ride.
Imminent house move is proving to be challenging, little tasks evolve into big tasks it seems. Diabetes is just going to have to take care of itself ( like that’ll happen :banghead:).
Enjoy the spag bog and wine. Don’t come near me if you’ve been eating garlic bread though:).

Just roasting some broccoli “rice” to have with a vegan curry for dinner. Levels been ok until about an hour ago when it looks like I’ve had another dollop of DP... can’t decide whether to kill it with insulin or rum, tbh.

Supermarkets best lasagne for me @ 70g carbs (a 700g portion as in a meal for two), potato salad @ 30g and steamed broccoli. carrot and sugar snap peas, just waiting the pre bolus out as it cooks off in't oven, not a bad days bloods as far as it goes, dipped just under 4 after breakfast and the dip seems consistent so .5u less bolus next I think :)

A chilled out Saturday night with my youngest, she's non hormonal at the moment but that can soon change :)

Good morning all from a wet and rainy East Mids.
Woke up feeling very hungry but BS was 13+. Oh well, seems I’ll be in need of extra insulin to start the day:banghead::banghead:.
Must be all the hassle of hopefully moving house this week affecting the equilibrium of life:):).

Hope all you guys have a good Sunday.

Morning.

No not listened to Liza Tarbuck, so far today has started on a high 12.5 ~sigh~ going gym later.
The garlic bread was lovely :D

Awoke with a 7 and a straightish line on the Libre. However am feeling gutted, as the irritation that has been getting increasingly worse seems to have hit a new peak. After less than 48 hours wear I wanted to rip it off during the night, the itching was so bad. Have just had a 2 week break to help clear up the marks it leaves and had mixed feelings. On the one hand I was more relaxed about levels between meals, probably as I am using my new found knowledge the Libre gave me. On the other I missed those directional arrows.
I know where this is ultimately going. I will be leaving this fantastic invention behind. Hopefully they will hurry up with the implant they are developing.

@Knikki . The Liza T thing is that she does a Saturday evening radio show and people call in to tell people what they are having for dinner. Spag Bog is , it seems most people’s go to meal on a Saturday night :):).
Patiently waiting to come crashing down now from such a lofty start.
Gym later unless the OH finds another wardrobe that’s needs putting in a suitcase.:banghead::banghead:

Have a good un.

@therower Arh! I see the thing about Spag Bol :hilarious: its quick easy to make and tastey especially with extra garlic thrown in and garlic bread :hungry:. Not going to be bothered by vampires all this week thats for sure :)

As for crashing bag down.........yep now 3.9 but the cereal spike will hit in about 2 hours, catch that and alls well with the world.

Although Farther Jacks outbursts are more fitting me thinks :hilarious:

Hi Becca - Adhesives are usually an issue for me - even Micropore tears my skin, but totally counter-intuitively, the Libre hasn't created any reactions yet. To be fair though, my use has been quite intermittent.

Have you tried a sensor on a different site? I have heard of others having a better time if they move them around a bit, rather than just stick with the arms.

Of course, Abbott only really want the arms to be in play, but sometimes needs must (says she who has been known to hide a sensor under a bikini, rather than have paler circles on a suntan. Ahem.).

I feel your pain, or should that be itch?

Good morning y'all, woke around 5am with a blood of 12 so I had 1u and went back to sleep till 9am and re-woke at7, 2.5u later and I'm at 5.7, which to be honest is far too many number sets for a Sunday morning :)

A wet rabbit to clean out shortly which will be fun :) then I'm taking the young un swimming, she says she's up for it as long as I do the rabbit on my own so we shouldn't row :) then this aft I'm going to mums old house to see what mess my eldest left yesterday when she had a 'baby shower' as it appears one of the kids fell in the pond, but anyway...

I wish the sun would come back :p

congratulations <3

Morning,

Managed 1 of 4 family celebrations without binging on carbs and mostly staying in range.

I have weddings and a birthday party to come...
