Morning guys and wishing you a great day. I will try to catch up on posts later on, if possible, you have been so busy :)
It is raining hard here and I have an appointment with my Gp this morning, about how things are going. Never met him before, but spoke to him via telephone last week. Also daughter and baby Cleo will be coming round this afternoon <3
Just gave Pebbles cat a rub down to get her dry, as she was a little on the damp side after being out :cat:

Morning everyone,

I actually slept properly last night, and didn't wake up and use the Libre. However, this morning it shows two hypos during the night, I woke on 6 though, so I think that might just have been me lying on it. I took a lower Levemir dose last night as well, so it seems a bit unlikely.

Anyway, those exact same conditions will never occur again, so I won't worry too much about it.

Well after a couple of really good days back to normal, for me. Bed with a 8.4 and woke up at 3.20 am with a 10.6. little correction dose and woke at 7am to an 8.1.

lets see what the day brings.

Hope you all have a great day

Probably just a bit of post-fire stress, it'll probably go back to the new normal in a couple of days.

Must have been a night for roller coasters - I woke at 4am with a BG of 10. Dialled it up on my pump and dosed with the recommended amount of insulin. Then woke with 2.9 at 7am.
This seems to be becoming a habit - I have worked out the guilty party is smoked mackerel faux carbonara which causes a double spike so trialling some double dosing to handle it. In the meantime, I am confused by the night time crash when I inject. My basal is higher overnight (which is fine because it keeps me stable when I don't eat the faux carbonara) but I seem to be more insulin sensitive when correcting which doesn't make sense.

Ooops, nearly forgot the morning greetings
Good morning one and all - I hope your day is fun/productive/not too bad (delete as applicable).

Don't know about pumps but could it be that your pump has put to much in with out realising it?

Yeah Pasta will spike at some point seems very slow to digest in most people :)

ON a side note Spike starting 7.7 heading up and Etch A Sketch in with 2 units and coutdown before

Morning all! I went to bed a little high at 8.2 with just under a unit sloshing around (plus basal) and that brought it down to mid fives. Then was woken around half five by my high glucose alarm that chimes when I go above seven, so whacked in a couple of units using my dawn phenomenon dosing chart and I’m now in the high fives again. I’ll boost the omnibot a little in the small hours to stop that rise for tomorrow.

@helensaramay - would be interested in your recipe for faux carbonara? I made a fish pie last night but instead of a celeriac mash topping I put peas in instead for the carbs. I did an extended bolus over 4 hours for the fish, but I think it was too long, causing my bedtime rise. I’ve got the other half of it tonight, so will try it over two hours. White fish and prawns cause quite a rise, but salmon doesn’t...

Doorbell just went and it was a shiny new sharps bin, like Christmas only bright yellow ;)

Bore da :)
Woke to a 6.8 with a straight(ish) line thru the night. Happy chappy this morning with that. Currently sat on a 7.1 - **** these spikes lol.....trying for a 100% in target day today - I KNOW T1D will defo throw a spanner in the works at some point. Work is pretty quiet so won't have any stress to deal with - again, that will soon change

It is very simple - use creme fraiche instead of eggs.
I usually griddle some courgettes, then fry some smoked mackerel for a couple of minutes, add creme fraiche, lots of parmesan and lots of black pepper. Serve with pasta or alternative.
I would love to give you a proper recipe with quantities but it varies every time depending on what is in the fridge.
Sounds awesome and like the way I cook :D

My fish pie is some veg stock with soya cream, butter and herby goat cheese boiled down into a thick sauce (onions fried in the butter first if you want), with a pack of fish pie mixed fish and a pack of king prawns lobbed in, with peas. Some mash on top if I can be bothered. And some dill.

Morning
4.5 at 5.30am
Had a punnet of strawberries for my lunch yesterday and I had no intention of eating the lot I just did.
I have eaten more strawberries this year than I've eaten in my life and I can only assume its the weather that's caused the little darlings to taste so nice.

Happy times and places

Tony

Strawberries yum yum

Well that worked out better than I thought and running mid 5's

Out of interest, I have done a search but what extra do you get if you subscribe/buy the MySugr app?

Is it still basically a diary to track things or can you do more with the caculators that it has?

Morning all, got the all clear to leave hospital as soon as my paperwork comes through woohoo!! Also on a nice note I have received confirmation that I will be getting the Freestyle Libre on prescription :)

Very good news. Freestyle Libre makes such a difference.

Great news all round Nicola, out of hospital and getting a Libre.

I got the libre about 10 weeks ago and I think it has def made a big difference to my BG. I am still not great but have seen a big improvement.

After doing finger pricks for more years than I care to remember, my poor fingers are starting to recover , slowly

I have been using it since the very beginning and I don’t remember how but somehow I have a lifetime free pro subscription. There was originally some sort of offer on.

I can’t recall what the basic version offers, but I can tag all my entries with a few dozen different things, have a bolus calculator, can add food photos, it seems very comprehensive. If you want to post a screenshot of the data entry page on yours, I can do one from mine and we can compare? The T1 version of you show me yours... ;) It also links in to the Apple HealthKit, so the trace from my Libre via Spike appears in the graph window too. And you can generate really comprehensive pdf reports, very attractive and easy to analyse.

I am now 85% in target and going well.....6.8 and dead level. Only gotta get to 11pm lol

Excellent figures well done

Despite having the libre and being fairly well behaved most of the time I find the best I can get in target is around 60%. Virtually no matter what food I eat i will spike by around 4 points, which invariably puts me above my target

For around 35 years plus I had always ran high, I am guessing around 9 or 10:inpain::inpain: and only recently seemed to have settled down to about 8. Baby steps.......

I find that if I check the libre and it is around 4.5/ 5 i start to panic slightly but I am getting better with this "low figure"
