Well the UTI’s got the better of me. I expected greater things from my immune system, giving it a real talking to, and probably left it a day too long; had to visit the local (to where I am at the moment) minor injuries unit to get a fix.
Two hours in the waiting room. Lots of things going on, from a glitter covered dad with his son’s damaged tendon to a big bloke whose phone was playing jingle bells. That’s how they/we party here.
I got to know the loo there very well while I was waiting, so it was even more of a relief to see a doc.
Anyone taken MacroBID, real name Nitrofurantoin? There’s an alarming list of possible side effects
Hi Fairygodmother, nitrofurantoin is pretty standard fare for a UTI, we give it out all the time so hopefully you'll have no problems! All antibiotics can upset your stomach a wee bit and I think I've seen further down the thread you've already experienced the interesting side effect this particular one has on changing the colour of your wee(!) but usually it's bearable considering the symptoms you're treating. Really hope you feel better soon!

Good day y'all :) 11 waking, but I'd eaten a big tea so my own fault... I've just dropped the young un and friend off and tidied their mess from a sleepover, mowed the front lawn which involved moving a broken Saxo forward, then back to mow under it, got a rabbit to clean out and I think I'm going for a cycle ride, living the dream :p

I started a thread in the blood monitoring section asking if a Libre and a tens machine would have adverse effects if used together, and am going to wait till the sensors last day before trying (shoulder therapy) but thought I'd ask here too :)

I am at the hospital tomorrow morning seeing about cataract in my right eye 9am so no sleeping in

No sorry never used a tens machine.

The only thing I would be wary of is if the machine vibrates to near the sensor then it might just shake its innards enough for it to throw a wobbler, those sensors sometimes seem a little delicate, but yep good idea to try it out as the sensor is ending.

Afternoon all, not done much been to John Lewis ~other stores are available~ which was rather fun and got a free coffee and a cake which was also rather nice, had to drop 2 units in of Aspidistra to catch a spike, which even if I do say so myself worked rather well :)

Another fun day on rollercoaster

Went for a walk round one of our local parks. Got to about the furthest point away and thought mmm this does not feel right. 4.2 on Libre and going down. 4 jelly beans did not cut it at all, 10 mins later its now 3.7 and still going down, Finger test suggest its actually 3.2. Last resort time, small bottle of full sugar coke and 10 mins later back to 4.6.

I hate being out and about with low BG as I will always panic and out has to come emergency coke if it falls below 3.5. Now paying for it, back into double figures and feeling ****. GRRRR

Hope you have all had a good day despite the horrible weather. Is this not summertime?

Afternoon comrades! Exterior painting complete, no naughty graffiti to be seen. New curtains (I say new, I bought them about six years ago) hung in bedroom, photos I printed (in a darkroom and everything) in about 1991 finally framed and put on the wall. BG steady in the mid fives all day, so I suppose I’d better have some breakfast, beginning to get a bit peckish now.

Fired up a new sensor, installed it last night to give it time to soak. Final reading from old one was 4.9, first reading from new one was 5.1 so happy with that. MiaoMiao with Spike allows you to skip the hour’s warmup, making the soak even more important. But no gap in readings, which I like!

PSA: People that have ordered or are using a MiaoMiao - @Knikki & @himtoo IIRC, don’t use acetone or nail varnish remover to clean the residual sticky off the thing. It eats the plastic. Tac-Away wipes do the job just fine.

Weekend report: high!

Been an odd weekend, pub meal Saturday night, was just under 4 before bed, ummmed and arrrred about correcting but didn’t, thinking meal was a slow burner so to speak....18.4 in the morning! Oh hum! packing now for trip to south of France - hoping hot weather and dipping in the sea might do my sciatica some good, it’s a bit better but still catches me at times. Internet access will be iffy - I may be off line for a while! Have a good week all.

Thought my tea was burning as I could smell smoke, but I have one of the most hyper-sensitive smoke alarms going and that was silent (Battery tested recently so I know it's working).

Then I remembered the neighbours across the alleyway had been creating a pile of stuff at the end of their garden and shot to the front door to check - yep, it's a bonfire with attitude. The last two windows which were slightly ajar were shut most speedily, but I can still smell the smoke two hours later.

They do most carefully site these bonfires at the far end of their garden, which is too close to my fence and front door for my liking. Plus, the wind's blowing the smoke my way.

Meh. I was trying to have such a gentle, relaxing day at home as well...

Evening all :) the day panned out alright really, 14 mile scenic bike ride, a couple of Dextrotabs and home cooked chicken Dopiaza with a home grown ghost chilli, fresh steamed veg and brown basmati rice, 'around' 100g carbs, 4u Humalog and steady away, with a portion to freeze for another day :)

Hi @slip. Similar weekend here with unexplainable highs. Spent most of Saturday mid teens for no apparent reason. Resisted correction dose as I was busy doing stuff. Knew full well that the slightest correction dose would have seen me come crashing down in no time.
Enjoy the South of France and I’ll keep my fingers crossed the sea works wonders for your sciatica.
Don’t forget my postcard ;)
