Type 1'stars R Us

Morning everyone.

My blood sugar yesterday, was terrible, but fortunately you didn't get to hear about it.

Today is nice and stable.

Congratulations @Juicyj for completing the run, and @Cumberland for winning against the bad diabetes gremlin. Enjoy your last week of work before your holiday @porl69

Is it today you're having a meeting at work @Cumberland ? I'm not clever enough to go back and find the conversation in the thread, if so hope it goes well for you.

Now is that just a coincidence. Or could I start taking my weekdays Levemir at 8pm thus making it the same number of hours between Levemir doses as I have at weekend eg 11 hours instead of 9

I would say this is because your 9am dose is still working slightly combined with your 10pm one over night, but your 7am version has run out by the next morning hence the rise, so don't move your 10pm one, do the morning one at 9am everyday and see what happens, it of course could just be the stress of having to go to work........!:D

I woke at 3am not happy lay there for twenty minutes feeling fine but wide awake went downstairs and did a test.
4.0 not that low so 2 jellies and off to bed no sleep to be had.
5.30am 5.3 happy days
Tired but hearty stayed in the 5s then all of a sudden 3s then food.

Happy Mondays

Tony

afternoon peeps , good to have forum back

Had a good BG overnight and woke after a flat night to a 5.6. great start to week BUT

Had 2 small slices of toast 28 g of carbs, and 2 poached eggs so took 7 units of Novorapid, my ratio is 1:4 taken 25 mins before I ate. 2 hours later 7.7, which is fine. Its all uphill from there 10.7, 3 hours after jab and finally 12.3, 4 hours after jab WTAF.

This is really frustrating the life out of me GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR:(

Taken a correction dose about 1.5 hours ago and it has dropped but only to 9.9.

One day i will get the hang of this

Did the message board have a hypo by any chance? :p

6.3 waking for me, a little drop to 3.8 pre breakfast and a steady enough day for the rest, I miscalculated my food last night and ended up eating near on 600g mince in a chilli :p bloods were ok but there was a plateful.... 'twas butchers mince with a reduced sticker on it and it was cheap so I didn't look at the weight :) :)

Woke to a Lo, a full-on one - I blame myself for believing the rough division of the evening meal and overdosing for it.
Back to today, correction plus liver dump and I didn’t get down to a better figure til 2.30 - so late lunch! Hungry! Just one of those days.
At least the sun was shining and mud pie making began again today so lovely friends and new bowls to decorate
Great results for you @Cumberland.
More congratulations @Juicyj.
Commiserations @smc4761.

A small win to start the week - better result than the football. :)

As predicted earlier in the weekend my few days of flying low with my bolus seems to be about over. Libre is now out by about 2.5mmol.

I’m keeping positive even if the football sucks lol

About 2 weeks ago I was at clinic and doc estimated my HbA1c would be around 64. Previously it had been 69. I had put a huge amount of effort and I was completely deflated when it would only be 64

This afternoon I have logged onto mydiabetesmyway, which has some of my medical records and was delighted to see that my HBA1c was 59. This was down from previous reading of 69 Whoooo Hoooo. This is the first time in my 37 years of being diabetic that I have been below 60

All of my cholesterol's are down as well, as is my blood pressure and weight from my previous appointment 6 months earlier.

Feeling a lot better now and feel that all of my effort has been worth it.

Just got to keep it going now. My new target for my next appointment is going to be 53.

Apologies for blowing my own trumpet but below 60 for first time ever is a major milestone, its only taken 37 years 4 months and 29 days

You are fully entitled to blow your own trumpet

Massive congratulations well done

In bed before 7pm

Huge insulin resistance the past few days...but managing to stay in single figures mainly.

What is causing your huge insulin resistance?. Hope you feeling OK

Normally happens around this time in my monthly cycle.

I am ok thank you, just means I have to be extra vigilant and more correction doses. Have slowly increased my basal dose for this week.

I have heard of beef mince, lamb mince and pork mince. I may also have heard or turkey mince.
But butcher's mince sounds like the sort of thing you will run out of supplies soon :)

Curiousity got the better of me. I googled, It could be a brand, though I quite like the idea of it being a Yorkshire specific term for a particular type of mince. But I couldn't find any evidence of that, not that that means it isn't.

You got an HbA1c of 59 then? much better than the guesstimate by the doctor. Well done.

All that effort has been worth it then, after all.

Great work! Onwards and upwards (or downwards in the case of your HbA1c ) - feel free to blow your own trumpet on parade for the rest of the evening

Just beef mince but from the butchers counter instead of pre packed, a little better quality and a little dearer and a mark down bargain at half price :)
