Because you were more active over the weekend and used up your "glucose reserves"?
Because you had a wee tipple on Sunday night?
Because one of today's emails was ... unreasonable?
Because your spreadsheet crashed and you hadn't saved your changes?
Because your diabetes likes to keep you on your toes?

I was going for, I am wearing blue socks today and yesterday was black socks:)

I've never managed a single holiday where my BGs have been stable. For some reason, the first few days of a holiday are filled with hypos and the last few days filled with highs. Could do without the stress of dodgy BGs on holiday!

Ha ha riding that particular wave at the moment! I am in this country, so not in the heat, but have been low since Saturday morning. Have drastically cut back my bolus, but still scoffing myself silly. Don’t want to alter the basal, as by the time the change kicks in the wave will crash and normal service will resume I am sure.
I am active, walking. But am always very active at home. Am just putting it down to being very relaxed.

Nice to know I’m not the only one then! Good idea about keeping basal the same, I usually try to adjust, without success. Think I’ll try your tactic next time!

I have a special basal program for climbing including raising the basal before climbing and reducing it afterwards.
The effectiveness of this depends on how hard I climb and I do not always know in advance how hard I will climb or how much time will be spent gossiping with my climbing pals. As I have not climbed this hard for months, the impact on my BG was more pronounced than usual: hence the extra rise and subsequent fall.

Swimming is not my thing but through my recent physio, I have gained some massage and stretching techniques and continue to strengthen my elbow through (low) weights at the gym.
Thank you. The challenge with exercise I guess is to make it as interesting (non-boring) and engaging as possible without allowing it to become too unpredictable to manage BSL-wise. Exercise with meaning - health, psycho-social etc. Happy travelling !!

Good morning y'all, a waking 4.5 and dropping, 2 Dextrotabs and a coffee bringing me upwards and a pre bolus for porridge and hovering at 5.1, I'm finding getting up 15 minutes earlier to be stopping the waking drop and a bit of DP helps when my feet hit the floor.
There's a wind warning out today which will be fun as there's rain forecast for the rest of the week so I'll have to get some work done but so far it's not looking too bad.
Enjoy your days :)

Had an appointment at the diabetic clinic yesterday. Arrived at 10.15 and got to see a doctor at 11.25, chatted about my BG numbers for 15 mins. I don't know what I expect from these appointments but I come away feeling disappointed. I did learn that my c-peptide was low (192 no idea of what unit was used) and that my Hb1Ac was up 48 (6.5%) This didn't surprise me as my motivation to eat healthily, stay low carb has all but deserted me. I'm not chuffing down bread and spuds but I certainly not doing as well as I could. Can't be bothered

I've had 2 bad nights but last night I ate a twirl and some pringles before bed determined to get some sleep.
Obviously I'd be high this morning.......
I was 5.3 .....and I slept
I should be happy but I'm bamboozled....time for a rethink me thinks....

Have a tremendous Wednesday everyone

Tony

@kitedoc is the change of pump just normal run of things or because the pump your currently using now not supported?

@kev-w I see porridge is back on the menu, you settled on a particular brand or going for another round of trying different mixes?

@Cumberland teeth out? hope everything is now sorted.

YYYAAAAWWWWWNNNNNNNN could get used to this "not working lark" (holiday) Last night ended on a 8.0 started the day on a high 3 low 4 now waiting for the breakfast spike and all is well with the world.

(You know autocorrect really isn't :hilarious: )

48 is still an amazing HBA1C... Gotta be happy with that Sue :)

Morning :)

Welcome home @karen8967

Yikkkkesss @Cumberland <3

Waking bloods 4.7

Insulin resistance seems to be backing off... now thinking it may have not been linked to my cycle but due to lack of sleep and work relaxed stress :/
thanks cranberryice its nice to be back got a day of washing in front of me then back to work in the morning so back to reality :(

@Knikki :) porridge? I'm, back on the standard Mornflake oats and don't see a spike now I'm on Tresiba, I had tried oat bran and rolled oats and they did help whilst on Lantus although the oat bran was less carbs so if anything I'd drop :)

I'm sat at 5.1 now after the standard 60g porridge jug, eggs and bread and will have a snack before I leave as I've half a Libre man of insulin left :)

Was carnage yesterday for me, got home from gym 6.6 and stable so awesome, pre bolused correctly for what I was about to eat and waited the usual 15 mins, then BANG a huge argument with the Mrs, she storms off I scan and its 11.2 and sky rocketing. Had to wait about 1.5 hours after injecting for it to come back into range and then be able to eat dinner.

Had not eaten any food since 1pm had a heavy gym session, was starving and couldn't eat until 10pm when things had settled down.

Morning everyone,

@SueJB raises an interesting question about staying motivated, once we're in maintenance mood, rather than target chasing. Though that is a very good HbA1c, and one to be proud of.

Overnight wasn't great, but it wasn't the end of the world either, just some sort of middling slightly too high blood sugar. I corrected about 7 am, but then had to post-bolus my breakfast, as I had reached the high 3s. Which might allow me to have a hypo free walk later, which would be nice.

But then again, it might not!
