Good evening y'all (& happy birthday Porl :) )
A bad hypo in my sleep leading to a discipline breakdown treating it and my young un's got no Kit Kats left, leading to a rise that rose a bit more, corrected and ate with insulin and back up it went, another jab and I'm sat at 6.2 with a line in a southerly direction as I went for a walk/stomp for a couple of miles. as I didn't get my swim in.

It's a load of Mels cat some days....

Ditto! Where did the last two days come from. Did manage my swim though. Awoke very low on a 4 and just had my 10 carb brekkie. It rose enough to drive and I got in the pool on a 7 with a horizontal line. Half an hour later I got out to check and it was on a 13 with a rocket next to it. Took 2 units and got back in. 2km swum and back home on an 8. It’s now a 6.
Sugars usually start rising at 3am and as soon as I get out of bed zoom away. Not yesterday or today. For goodness sake!

Afternoon all...

Well first day back in work after two weeks, wedding and being away, apart from one glitch, bloods have been fine, today :banghead:, all day in 10 - 13 range apart from a hypo lunch time (which I was glad of)……...really do not know why, it not like anything has really changed, still eating the same stuff ~sigh~ sometimes this TID malarkey frustrates the living s*** out of me.

@Scott-C Yep well the Witch Craft while useful has been a PITA today :hilarious:

Well sat here on a Saturday night, drunk but not as trashed as last Friday :hilarious: and have just tried a Salted Caramel Chocolate for the first time and I'm surprised to report, it was rather enjoyable.

Something else to try out now :)

@Mel dCP hows the concert?
Have you tried the Sea Salt chocolate?

Not yet - tried the chilli but didn’t like it much
I thought the chilli was nice - the flavours went well with each other. The flavours for the wasabi just didn't complement each other in the mouth though.

Day of the 2 hour education session for the Tandem Slim pump and a farewell to the Animas Vibe pump.
Mixed feelings but I know change is inevitable. I really must give the new pump a fair go - which is the Aussie way.

Thankfully didn’t happen. Doesn’t always, there is no pattern to how my levels are following swimming. Pleased to say however that have had a straight line on my Libre for about 9 hours of 5.5-6.2. Result!

Good morning y'all :) a waking 4.9 for me tho I did have a Dextrotab at 6am, I'm a bit annoyed with myself not swapping cartridges earlier and it's a mystery why it stopped working having been kept in a Frio wallet.
Not a bad looking morning here :)

was 3.2 before bed, had a couple of glucotabs, as I knew the jacket potato I had for tea was still to work it's magic, the low was due to the 'fat' delaye caused by a rather nice steak cooked in butter. Now the last few nights I've been waking early morning with a slight feeling of being low but not enough to warrant me to do anything about, and so been expecting to be slightly higher come breakfast due to a liver dump - but thats not been the case, had some good readings in the morning - 5.7 today. I bet if I knock back the night time levemir it will go up the swanny !

Edit: perhaps I should actually do a blood test if and when I wake early doors! (before you all say it!:hilarious:)

Did you really think pure sugar (glucose tabs) would be better for one's teeth than .... pure sugar (sweets ... or "lollies" as an Aussie)?
I think someone suggested a glass of water next to the bed to rinse your mouth out after treating a night time hypo to reduce the risk of tooth decay.
Hi @helensaramay, I looked up" Sugars and dental decay" Shielman A. Lancet Feb 5 1983 1(8319) and without quantitative ratings, (which suggests qualitative ones) the worst to least worst sugar for tooth decay are sucrose (table sugar ) then glucose, then fructose. And there is no difference in rates of decay between white or brown sugar.
Looking at carefreedental.com "What happens to your teeth when you eat something sweet? (up dated August 2016) it states that the process of plaque formation starts as soon as the sugar (sucrose significantly worse than other sugars) contacts the teeth. Regular rinsing and brushing is advised and trying to avoid food containing sucrose in particular.
I asked my dentist in jest which form of sweet when eaten was associated with the most frequent and early visits to the dentist. His immediate reply was that the really sticky sweets (I shall not name the culprit he mentioned but it is white and mint flavoured). The stickiness leads to fillings coming out and needing replacement !
He even said there was a sticky substance like the afore-unmentioned sweet (lolly) which is used to remove strongly attached dental crowns !!
I leave each person to their own hypo food choice!!!??

Bore da ffrindiau!

Had a couple of high alarms in the night, not sure if it’s the beginning of resistance week or the vestiges of the three tons of fish I had for dinner. Took small corrections to deal with those, and now I’m at 3.7... so I’ve turned off my pod for half an hour.

Did I mention I had my first pod failure at the weekend? Had to change it in the car in a multi storey car park in Cheltenham...

Salty chocolate is amazing. I usually have 100% cocoa stuff, and often put a sprinkle of pink salt on it. Really gives it some oomph.

I am now attached to a Tandem pump. the T-slimx2 (X2 means second model , I think) here is sunny Oz.
The educational process was very well done, both with pre-session video presentations via email (and a quiz to answer correctly enough to be able to move through the 5 modules)!! and my DNE (Diabetes Nurse Educator) and the Pump rep spend 2 hours with me (methinks they took pity on a slow learner)!
Comparison: Pump Length cm bare/in belt accessory Width cm b/b.a. Thickness cm bare/casing plus clip
Animas Vibe 8 / 8.4 5 / 5.4 2.2 / 3
Tandem.T-slim 8 / 8.5 5 / 5.5 1.5 / 2.2
More later when I have had time to work it out and have learned enough from my mistakes to say something profound.
