Thank you sir. It was only a try dive. Loved every second under water. The instructor knew a bit about T1D as well, wouldn't take me down below 10! I was 10.1
Love the term “ try dive” .
As for the instructor knowing a bit about T1D , my only concern would be his / her knowledge of not drowning :):):).

A few of the instructors said I couldn't be diabetic as I am not fat!!! Soon put those right with a few choice words and explanation

but I am still not convinced enough by the accuracy for the cost.

Can we tempt you to try running libre with one of the transmitters, blucon or miaomiao?

The calibration routines which xDrip+ runs are extraordinary. Sure, I still get sketchy results now and then, but hey, it's cgm, and I don't expect it to be perfect all the time, because biology can screw it up, but after using it for a while, you get used to the quirks and just kinda know when it's wrong and when it's right. This morning, it was 0.2 out against a bg test.

I'm running a pretty decent sensor at the moment which I trust, the calibrations are holding well, and my bg meter history for the last 7 days shows 1 or 2 tests per day. I'm perfectly happy bolusing from it. I wouldn't say the same for libre reader scans, but xdrip has been tested so much in the field by so many people and by me in my own life I trust it.

I was nowhere near tempted until my latest Glimp experience (i’m an Android gal so no xDrip+ for me) which is certainly better than the LibreLink (i’ve been running both some of the time so have a chance to compare). However, I still find it lacking and not accurate enough.
I work on a network performance management tool that allows the user to do all sorts of alerting, baselining, graphing, etc which I would like to see on some of the CGM apps. For example, alert if I am below 5.0 and the trend over the last 15 minutes is falling faster than 1 unit every 30 minutes.
I think one problem for me is that I am rarely “stable”. My BG falls quickly when I do cardio and can rise quickly when I eat (if I haven’t pre bolused far enough ahead). As a result, I usually feel hypo or hyper before the alert (which is one reason why I want the combined conditions) and the poor device isn’t sure what to use for calibration.

If I could get the NHS to fund the Libre, even occasionally, I would think more seriously about getting a Miao Miao to “play” with.
Spike does that - it’ll give you a “rising fast” and “falling fast” alert, and you can set the conditions for it to go off. Only available on iPhone though.

Mels cat to the weather, my working day didn't last that long and there'll be some not that happy at being cleaned in the rain customers, but my bloods have been ok, a little rise after first course of breakfast so didn't eat any bread, a slope down from not eating the bread let me eat it, and a couple of handfuls of nuts just then 5.6, I think I'll get the gym done nowish as I've the little un here for 10 days so will have a busy evening when she gets home from school....

If this is a sign of things to come I'll happily take it :)

Wishing you a good, well balanced diaversity Kev with many more to come :)

@Scott-C . It’s still frustrating that we still have to prove ourselves. Having data as proof is becoming very beneficial to both parties.
Just wish that sometimes they would have a little more faith in us.

I'm fairly optimistic about it. Cgm is a new thing for them as well as for us, so it's a learning experience for all of us.

We're further ahead in the curve because we're wearing it all the time so we're bound to know more about it.

All the docs I've talked to, at hospital and also GPs have been willing to listen.

At my last GP checkup, she said, "so maybe 40 is going to be the new 50."

Progress in small steps.

Evening everybody, how are you all, I hope life and diabetes have been treating you well ? I am feeling a little better in myself, but the new job has to go, I dislike it so much (and I am being polite here) and the company too, so looking for another job and have been looking online and applied for one this afternoon.
Made a chocolate cake for my daughter today as it's her 18th birthday tomorrow (@ 8.42 pm) and erm, it's gluten free too o_O

Have to agreee.
When I first showed my consultant my Dexcom he was really interested and genuinely took a great interest in it. I was even asked to make an appointment with a DSN to have a chat about it. I’ve already said that it turned out to be one of the best chats/ discussions I’ve had with someone about diabetes. The chance just to say how I live with T1 and control it was refreshing.
The DSN wanted to know anything and everything but at no point tried to give point me in any direction.
I think from how I felt and what she said that we both benefited immensely from just having what was basically a chat.

@Robinredbreast . Lovely to have you back. Sorry to hear about the job, but you’ve got to be , if not happy, at least comfortable doing a job. The chocolate cake sounds yummy, best we don’t mention it to @Knikki or @porl69. They both have a sweet tooth.
Hope you and your daughter have a lovely day tomorrow.
Colour on forum changed a few weeks back, can’t recall the reason but apparently there was one.:)

The staff must of have good old chin wag about changing the colour, goes to show how long I haven't been on here. Well. I might post a photo of the said cake, it's not decorated yet, but her name will be on it and an 18th candle, she is working a half day tomorrow, so she will get her other prezzie's when she get's home ( Her main present is a 42 inch TV which she would like mounted on her bedroom wall, so her boyfriend has been roped in to do that) ;)
How have you been keeping ?

Dexcom has the fast rising and falling but it ignores the starting (or ending) values.

I wonder why there is more on the iPhone, most techies I know are anti-Apple because they stole one of the open source Linux distributions and I’d expect the geeks writing these apps to care about these things as much as the market share.
You can set threshold values, too. It’s quite useful.

No idea, it’s one guy who wrote Spike, although he has a small volunteer team on board. It’s a really powerful app, which I’m beyond grateful to have free access to

Wow its been a busy old forum these past 24 hours. Congrats to all on you amazing HB1AC figures. I can only dream about have anything under 50 never mind mind 40's. Respect to those who can do this, it takes a huge effort.

What i am finding is with all the new tech out there, use mere plebs are becoming very clued up on our type 1 perhaps more so than the doctors. We live with this condition and all that it throws at us and we still come out smiling at end of it. We know our own bodies and the how we react to certain situations. Doctors may have the books and the theory but we live it.

Been playing up again all day and night with a couple of hypos and generally running low, well low for me between 5 and 6 and that is despite taking about 20 % less Levemir at night and about 5% less Levemir in morning, for past few days

Libre has been a great tool for me as constant checking , about 15 times a day gives me the knowledge to adjust my carbs and insulin as required

When I first showed my consultant my Dexcom he was really interested and genuinely took a great interest in it.

I had an amusing conversation with a dietician from my DAFNE course who asked about the libre/blucon/xdrip rig, "is this, you know, legal?"

As a middle aged guy who is now thinking ahead to how my retirement is going to pan out, I quite like the idea that I'm running some dodgy, cutting edge, illegal stuff on my arm!

The next edition of Grand Theft Auto is going to have a character wired up with this sort of stuff...
