There are plenty of other places, some of them can be a bit cranky, so try somewhere else. You might find a different dog that needs a home even more.
Thanks @Alison54321 I definitely want to help a dog into a new home... ie mine and thought the Blue Cross were good. I understand from what they say that it's a first come basis but also to do with matching dog to human..................... all of which I understand and agree with. What peeeees me off though is that the dog is still on their website as being available. Not to worry, I will rehome a dog but I'll just have to keep working in the meantime. Pants!!

That made me giggle, you'll be using bounder, cad and rapscallion next :hilarious:

I have ended up changing my night time Dulac to a morning Dulac which at the moment seems to be working (no doubt spoke to soon) and while my over night is still going low I am not dropping into the below or less than 3 area for long periods, which I was.
So, still experimenting because only been doing this since Friday and Dulac does take time to work. Watch this space.

As for pizza well :joyful: is all I can say to that :)
I'm confused @Knikki I thought Dulac was a guy who illustrated books

Good late morning all.
I’ve been doing the 7.5 of overnight Levemir, dropped it down from 8 and the last 7 days on the magic screen show me 50% above range. I’m seriously not pleased. Imagine what dropping from 8 to 6 as advised by the DSN would have done. It seems even a 0.5 drop won’t solve the occasional swoop down in the early hours, which I don’t mind btw as it doesn’t swoop down lower that c3.4. Grrrrrrr.
I spent yesterday fighting recurrent highs and Novoslow. Sitting waiting for a dose taken an hour ago, plus DP dose, to take effect. Yup, it’s a new vial, new needle. More grrrrrrr. Same yesterday, so tomorrow I’ll be upping the DP dose by 0.5. I WANT A PUMP.
It’ll be an ‘interesting’ appointment with the DSN on Wednesday.
@Fairygodmother I'm wondering about Novoslug, today I've corrected 3 times today with barely a blip of a movement on a baby's bot. Is it always so lethargic? I think I might want a pump but I might be too green

In desperation I’ve changed the NovoSnail vial to one from a different batch, wacked in the dose for supper carb and waited. BS slowly slowly came down to 5.4 - it took over two hours - so I put in an extra 1.5 ready for the second lot of carb only to find that him indoors had already taken half of what I’d saved in hope. No matter, I had a slice of lemon courgette cake hidden in my bag, I’d bought it in a cafe this afternoon when we were out for a very very blowy walk by a rough sea, but Madame BS said thou shalt not so they kindly wrapped it up for me to take away.
Rarely has anything tasted better. I ate a strip of it half an hour ago and have just finished the rest as Madame BS now down to 3.1. It’s going to be a tricky night.

I’ve just looked at today’s record and I’ve had 11.5 units of NovoSnail and 6g of carb. My ratio’s normally 1:1. Definitely something odd going on.

@smc4761 - I’m thrilled for you! I cried when I got the ok. Which was embarrassing because the phone call came in Ikea... do expect some major apprehension and “am I doing the right thing here” wobbles between now and then, even if you’re certain it’s absolutely the right thing. It’s a big change, but I’m sure you’ll love it.

Still on a fair bit more insulin than normal here, but no spikes or drops while I’ve been wandering around. Had a Greek mezze lunch, so total carbs guess, but that went ok - more salmon for dinner tonight and I’ve dropped a little low. Wondering whether to correct or not...

Edit: I corrected. Because I want sleep.

The film, Bohemian Rhapsody was very good, Rami Malek who played Freddie was brilliant and even though I wasn't a big follower of Queen, I would highly recommend it , I loved it.
10.1 at the moment, that was probably the latte at the cinema  Night all zzzzz :)

I recommend a night of climbing to balance out some of those levels.
I was 7.0 when I jumped in the car, 5.5 once I arrived, 6.4 mid way through, 6.4 when I left, 5.1 when I went to bed and 4.0 when I got up. I'm pretty chuffed with my basal juggling (a bit of up, down and shaking it around) to achieve that.
The climbing was good too although there were a couple of "so difficult it was funny" routes as we teased each other for cheating in order to get to the top.
Rocking and rolling the basal, love it !!

Ugggggh, your pizza experience has reminded me of this Kenny Rogers song

"You've got to know when to hold 'em
Know when to fold 'em
Know when to walk away
And know when to run
You never count your money
When you're sittin' at the table
There'll be time enough for countin'
When the dealin's done"

Perhaps T1D makes us gamblers too :D:D:D:D

It is a good philosophy, sometimes discretion is better than valour, knowing when to keep to things in moderation rather than trying too hard and risking too much.

Have you tried using different bases for pizza? I’ve had good results with a slab of pan fried tofu, 90 second bread (30g almond flour mixed with a beaten egg and salt & pepper in a plastic takeaway container; nuke for 90 seconds), fathead dough, slabs of aubergine or beaten chicken.

Had a bit of an odd one last night, was running steady in the 5s after a dinner of roasted salmon, and then whoosh. Six corrections in a couple of hours stopped it running away, but 5.3 units is quite a lot for me... not quite sure what’s behind this - o don’t normally need to dose for salmon, maybe I do now? But I didn’t eat 5u worth of ANYTHING...

It’s resistance week, but my specific shark week basal programme usually covers that. Weather getting colder? Being away from home? The abscess (now very small)? Or the fact I’m allergic to mum’s dog and parrot? I was expecting to be using less, as I’ve been busier than normal. I’m chugging through about 30% more insulin than usual even for this week, so much so that I’ve got to change my pod this morning rather than tonight, because it’s almost run dry.

Ah well. Day out in Liverpool today, meeting my son under the clock at Lime Street Station - he’s getting the train up from his dad’s on his own for the first time. All part of my campaign to make him a bit more independent and less reliant on being driven everywhere.

Hope you all have a good one ❤️
Commiserations , Mel on the BSLs. I certainly find staying with relatives, no matter how congenial, to be a stress. And no doubt having your son do his first solo train trip can be a stress, whether from worry or excitement!!

Massive fan of Queen. (Well, more the earlier stuff.)
I'm looking forward to seeing this film.. There was talk of Sacha Baron Cohen playing Freddie? A while back, (I felt he would have been pretty close & a dead ringer.) then it all went up in the air regarding the rest of Queen's members wanting a little prominence in the script.. & it sort of fell by the wayside... I'm looking forward to witnessing the final result..

Turns out the other parent chickened out of sending him on the train and drove him here *eyeroll*

I hope you enjoy the film Jaylee, Queen and their music, were and still are Iconic and Rami Malek, I thought, was brilliant playing Freddie. I am not a big Cinema goer, very loud and a bit impersonal ( I remember the good ole 'going to the picture's era :joyful:) but at £7.50 for a ticket, that was a good deal.
