Have you tried the generic "sticky stuff remover"?
Some people call it nail varnish remover which is weird because nail varnish is not sticky once it is dry.
I find I use mine for removing sticky labels and the like more than removing varnish from nails.
That's nails of the finger and toe variety; not the hammering in wall variety. Unless they are covered in sticky stuff, I guess.
Hi
@helensaramay, I think most nail varnish removers are acetone-based. Acetone will attack certain plastics so would be wise to avoid it splashing on one's Libre, pump etc. It is also very flammable and defats the skin terribly.
In Australia we use Orange Power Sticky Spot and Goo Dissolver made by Planet Ark. It is made from oranges, a renewable resource. It will leave any oily residue on skin and plastics, which can be removed with soapy water.
If that is too much to carry with one's travelling kit, I rely on the Alcohol-based gel I carry for hand and skin cleansing as a less good alternative.
There are also hand washes in paint and hardware stores designed to remove residual oil and acrylic paint off one's hands.
They can work but contain more chemicals and some contain pumice which may or may not be too abrasive on soft skin.
An example is Septone Eliminator which will lift the materials in paints, resins, sealants, adhesives and body fillers off skin.
It is my go to hand cleaner for supaglue, epoxy glue, oil-based paint and heavy rubber based adhesives and occasionally very sticky dressing adhesives.
