This is where diabetes stops being physical and becomes emotional. It’s a very clever and devious bu**er. It wants you to feel the way you do at the moment. If it can drag you down it will.
13.3....... it’s just a number that you can’t change now, but you can learn from it. What caused it, if anything. If you can’t figure out how it’s happened you’ve learned probably the most important thing about diabetes...... sometimes it never adds up, never makes sense and things just happen. Believe and accept this, smile and remember you’re far stronger than your diabetes.
Positivity is the best way to deal with diabetes.
Diabetes control.... 80% mental/emotional 15% medication and 5% winging it. This is my belief.
Chin up Sue. Give us a :)

what an afternoon ive had noticed an elderly neighbours blinds havent been opened for a few days have knocked a few times on my way home from work ,well today i called the police they broke in and found she had passed away .they asked would i identify the body as i was the last person to see her alive as i had done a bit of shopping for her last week as her carer was away .the one saving grace is that she was in bed and looked so peaceful .had to give the police a statement and although she has lived 2 doors down from me for 30 odd years i didnt know her surname or any health issues apart from she never went out its really sad and when ive thought about it i dont really know much about any of my neighbours not because im standoffish or anything but because everyones so busy with their own lives .xx

Bless you Karen x

@Just catching up with your news @karen8967 . What a shocker for you. In the words of my OH, "That'd take the edge off your day".

It's so good that you cared enough to call for help for your neighbour. Well done.

Fangry is a good word for it, but it avails nothing except to push up BSLs due to the stress. Exercise is one way to walk/dance/whatever away the annoyance of it. Just don't overcorrect and end up on the hyper/hypo see-saw !!
Humour is always the best medicine!!

Morning all Swim fit this morning. Have been within the blue line for 48 hours solid. But it is swim fit this morning, so will end up above that blue line and blousing. If I take extra before I go in I go low if I don’t I go high. So no brainier really, high it is!

Good morning Diabetnam!

Took that old Libre off last night left it on for about 17 days? Though it stopped @14. (Experiment.)
Still stuck firm like the proverbial to a blanket.. I was expecting a mess under the sensor?
Was perusing some "how to" vids on YouTube before installing, one young lady's was already starting to peel & was in a bit of a state when removed...
Mine? Apart from a slight dark "plaster ring" around the edge. (Removed with soap & an abrasive flannel.) You'd never know it was there..! ;) I was sort of expecting to see evidence of a "full on" immune system assault?

All in all. impressive.

Good morning @becca59 . We’ll have no blousing around here young lady.:).
Feel free to bolus but getting in a strop and waving your clothing in our direction just isn’t on.:)

Have you considered extra prior to swim fit and just the smallest amount of carbs? I have in the past had similar issues and found just a small piece of something like malt loaf or peanut butter really can help.

Enjoy your workout.

Morning, hope you have a better day than yesterday, @karen8967 as bless you, it's sad when someone dies on their own, but from what you said, it sounded peaceful. RIP
It's a very dark, wet and windy start to Friday, I am having a new lock fitted on my lounge window this morning, as I have had a temporary one for well over a month.
HAPPY FRIDAY guys:)

Morning all, been busy at work recently so haven't had time to post - and it's still busy but thought before the proverbial hits the fan this morning I'd at least say 'Hello'!

I've been playing around with my 'blouse' (bolus - as a man I tend not to wear blouses!) - and it's certainly been play around with my levels! sometimes for the good but most the time for the bad..........a bit more tweaking needed. New Medtrum sensor has been ok but not as accurate as I'd have liked or expected, at least I can calibrate it to bring it back into line.

@becca59 That's an impressive picture you all set up to go shopping? ;)

@SueJB Have a hug and welcome to the sometimes frustrating world of T1D. Try (easy for me to say) get angry about most of the time if you think back to what you have done/eaten over the last few hours you can usually track down what caused the rise. Hope your OK? :)

Morning @karen8967 had the best idea with that coffee, certainly starts the day off better :)

Running low again even though I lowered my morning shot, it will spike in a bit so will catch that :)

Happy Friday everyone :)

@therower re blousing, in my defence it was early and I was rushing lol! Thanks for advice re keeping my levels down. Ironically I had a nibble of banana before getting in as I felt I was sitting a little low. Am still in the blue at the moment. Keeping my beady eye on it. It often rockets about 10 o’clock.
@Knikki yes, finally been able to put avatar up. (See soapbox) I was on a bitterly cold Norfolk beach at the time.

@slip . Playing around in your blouse?????? No harm in that;););).
It’s the pencil skirts and stilettos I struggle with.:banghead::banghead::banghead:

Good morning all. Well that was an interesting night! Lots of alarms for lows, so I hope that there was still some Tresiba floating around my body last night. Went thru jelly babies like there was no tomorrow :). Am now on a 13.4 so Tresiba theory out of the window lol. Increase in the bolus wizard for breakfast. Will be doing a basal check on Saturday evening/night as I will be sure that Tresiba is fully out of my system. UNLESS Wales convincingly beat Italy then I may have to wait a day or two :)
@becca59 your avatar pic is brilliant, thats me dressed for Spring :hilarious::hilarious:

Hi @Jaylee, have you tried some surgical spirit on cotton wool to remove the sticky stuff.?
It might be kinder on your tender skin than alkaline soap and an abrasive flannel !!
But not fit for consumption !!
In desperation there is also whiskey, um for adhesive removal --- what did you think I meant !!!! !!
