Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Let me take you back (cue wobbly lines on the screen)
On 27th February, I visited the diabetes team and they recommended I tried Humalog. They wrote a letter to my surgery to prescribe it on 28th February.
I regularly checked to see if this prescription was available over the next 2 weeks.
On 18th March, when I checked online (again), I noticed all my pen prescription items had been removed so I phone the surgery to complain. They were apologetic, said exactly the same items would be returned to database for me to request when I next needed and the Humalog would be available the next day. They clarified I definitely did not want the pen items prescribed.
On 19th March, the surgery pharmacist phoned to ask what was it she needed to do. I went through it all again. Once again, I emphasised I only needed the Humalog to be prescribed and nothing more. She guaranteed 4 vials of Humalog would be available from the dispensing pharmacy the next day.
(Wobbly lines to indicate returning to present day).
I have just returned from the dispensing pharmacist (I gave the surgery an extra day to sort themselves out or phone me if they still did not understand). Upon request for my prescription, the pharmacist presented me with Glucagon, pen needles, Lantus cartridges, NovoRapid cartridges and 5 vials of Humalog.

Do you ever think no one is listening to you because they have a bottomless bucket of money?

Meanwhile, the Fiasp I was forced to return to whilst I waited has been behaving itself perfectly.
Come on Helen, tell us what you said to her!

On the plus side @helensaramay you have an extra vial of Humalog. As you say makes you wonder if anyone actually pays attention, its not that difficult surely

My local pharmacy is also a bit of a joke and any time I pick up a presciption I have to check to ensure they have given me right thing. Only reason I stick with them is they never have issues getting Libre whereas my previous pharmacy did

Woohoo....just back from the DSN....HBA1C - 47 :p:p. She said I must be having loads of hypos, I politely asked her to look at Diasend and Carelink :)

Hi @porl69 , well done that man your figures have really come down, a brilliant effort. Hopefully that is the pump as well as your hard work that is driving them down

Oops... in handing out much praise and encouragement this afternoon, I referred to the "crack team" who'd done a great job and done twice as much work as I had anticipated they would do. (valeting a car - thought they'd only get half the job done, as we were also on standby for another job, which in the end some others did as they'd finished what they were doing.)

An indignant "Oy" from the back of the car and an outraged face appeared. Couldn't think why for a moment, then it dawned on me the phrase "crack team" needed explaining... and it transpired this student though I'd said a word starting "cra" then ending in p before team and was about to give me a good telling off for inappropriate language.

If only all misunderstandings in my workplace were sorted out so easily and with as much hilarity! We downed tools for our unofficial afternoon hot drink break, much refreshed from our fits of the giggles as well as our drink and biscuits. The car got finished and keys returned to their owner with time to spare as well.

And no bs spikes from the frustration? What a total pharmacist ****s up!!!

Good evening everyone.
Thank you for all today’s posts, it gives me a good bit of reading at this time of day. It’s the first chance I get to log in on workdays.
Trials, tribulations, successes, highs, lows, frustrations and Wispa.
@Cumberland . I’m certain Wispa could have been the key to Agnetha’s heart.;).
A rollercoaster day for me, couldn’t quite get the balance right.
But as they say “ diabetes is like a rollercoaster, it has ups and downs, whether you choose to scream or just enjoy the ride is up to you. “
It is sad we’ve lost some regular posters, but we’ve already got some new posters joining in. Life goes on.:)

Well I went out for the day without my Omnipod controller, had to happen sooner or later! :banghead:

No dramas though, I’d only got hard boiled eggs for food, and when I dipped a bit I just took three glucose tabs instead of the usual two and a half hour suspend. Felt quite uneasy though!

@helensaramay Just reading another thread you comment on and the line "try out a new sport (last one was flying trapeze)" :wideyed:

Wow  that avatar of Kim Possible really does suite you :hilarious:

Evening, just mooching, and finally won this morning battle of the "oh hell Im low and need to eat the fridge" didn't help that most of this whizzy, magic tech was between 2 to 3 points out, but then again if it was right all the time it would be A) boring B) not give me or anyone else something to moan about.

Oh and it was Devils Food tonight:-

Heavy on the Jalapenos..... Extra hot!

You're definitely not the only one. I am quite strong-willed (or so I like to think), but good old fish and chips is one thing I really miss on keto, so I'm going to have some come my birthday in a month's time.

Good for you I’ll come and join you

A year ago to this very day we lost a few very regular posters on this forum
Amongst them Debrasue, Sable Jan, Chris Lowe, Cojaluma and Eddie1968

They all had a run in with a real nasty person on here and decided to leave en masse

They were all good people who became good supportive friends I’ll never forget them
