Morning all,
Hair cut done, laundry drying, gardening done ... for now.
I have an injury from the latter. Whilst cutting out a dead Hebbe, I got stabbed in the ear by a vicious rose bush. Despite a lot of blood, the cut was not that deep which is good because I have no idea how I would attach a plaster. Now the bleeding has stopped, I can hide the injury behind my hair.
I am back to one pump as I wait for the real Medtronic trial. This could be as early as the week after Easter. I am quite excited but still trying not to get carried away. I may find problems with it once it has insulin in.

I have no idea what I will do for the rest of the weekend but the sky is blue so it should be outside.
@helensaramay hope your gardening injury is improving. Are your tetanus jabs up to date because even the smallest cut can cause issues if done whilst gardening.

.............and a Partridge in a pear tree and possibly very low carb o_O;):p
We had two tables - one for the ‘allergics’ etc and the other for ‘normals’ and they were both full although keeping the normals away from the allergic table was difficult!
Unfortunately my mother, who was the T2 diabetic, followed the eatwell plate as advised by her DN nurse and GP which we now know is not the healthiest for diabetics but, being ‘old school’, she thought they were correct so did as advised. She was also told that it was a progressive disease so just accepted that the only way to control her blood sugars was through going on insulin when the other drugs eventually stopped working. We are so lucky these days that technology allows us to research and give us the tools to make informed decisions about our health.

Has anyone remembered ‘Lassie’?

Yep, my sisters fave!

What about Elstree Studios answer to Godzilla?

"Was Dulux killed the beast...." ;)

Aaaww, don't talk about Lassie, it set's me off, even thinking about it, especially when she was hurt or held her paw up :bigtears::(

Lol, my mum & I used to play guess where the dog trainer is off camera... :)

Enjoy the weekend. I should go out in the sun but am going to Argentine tango instead.

I'm not over my virus yet (still have the cough) but have been back down to 100% basal for a week now. I was dancing last night too, so I hope the virus won't make me feel a lot more tired than usual. (For no apparent reason, I was absolutely exhausted on Tuesday afternoon and had a nap which didn't help much. I was fine the next day - apart from the cough.

I've enjoyed reading about the golden oldies on TV. Did anyone mention:

The Wooden Tops
Robin Hood
William Tell
Sir Lancelot ?

I vaguely remember an American series but not sure what it was called. The song was something like "Dan, Dan, Dan, highway patrol man".

You haven’t told us what you finally did with the fridge food last night @helensaramay. Was it pink? Was it good? Share the recipe?
Ah, talking of a recipe ***** and Johnny Craddock suddenly leapt into my brain, not a good part of the Memory Lane to have a property.

Oops, the Craddock wife’s name’s been automatically modded. Can’t think of a woman further from naughty than she was! Tweed skirts, sensible woollies, sensible shoes, and a tough hand with the steak and kidney

PMSL. I so much want to offer an alternative approach to avoid being modded but alas I fear I would be sent to the naughty step.

@helensaramay . Your gardening injury bought back a similar and memorable occurrence many years ago.
The factory where I work had a very “ awkward” FOC union representative. My refusal to join the union didn’t sit well with him and he let it be known as often as possible.
Anyway one sunny day he decides to nip home to see his wife. On the way he sees a rose bush in full bloom and decides to smell the roses. What he hadn’t allowed for was an errant off shoot that poked him straight in the eye. Ouch and then a quick pop into the local GP resulted in an all clear but keep an eye patch on for a few days.
Being a true union man he returned to work immediately upon leaving the GP’s fully resplendent with eye patch.
Now within the factory we had a very artistic guy who had no trouble fashioning a rather cute looking parrot out of masking tape on paper.
Placing it was easy, a caring arm around the shoulders and parrot was placed firmly on the blind side of our new Long John Silver lookalike. He had no idea it was there has he strutted the factory floor or when he went to the local CO OP to get some snack and he didn’t even twig on when the MD decided to come down and have a chat with him.
It was all very childish but kept a lot of people happy for the day.

He found the parrot only when he removed his overalls at the end of his shift.

I buy digital music and that way I can have it on my phone as well as my laptop (which both cast to the Marantz player and the OMG!!! speakers). I need the music on the phone at night because I'm not the world's best sleeper and my husband wakes up with noise. I use good earbuds and can listen to whatever I want.

The card I put in the phone is 128Gb and I'm seriously thinking about upgrading to a 256Gb - more room for more toys!

I stream music through my phone. Something the music industry started to get right a few years ago. Vast majority available to listen to on demand in good enough quality.

There's lossless for anything I want to listen to closely through my wired earbuds but most of the time Bluetooth is pretty much there now with aptX.

The film and TV industry are going to have to converge in a similar fashion at some point.

We record and store the TV box series we buy on our server, and then I can stream from that to my phone. Great at night with the earbuds. Or I just can cast it. I love that we can cast stuff these days. So simple!

We put a spare drive in the server that is the backup drive for laptops and phones - very useful!

I went down that route for a while but it quickly became obvious that there were going to be two limiting factors: disk capacity required and upload speed. It's simply not workable to stream a BluRay topping 35Mbps with higher resolution 4K ones on the horizon wherever you are without a fast uplink. Fortunately, the cloud came about and solved both of those issues.
