How about Mrs Fan- Knee Craddock, I always felt sorry for poor down trodden Johnny,:wideyed:are we allowed to say Johnny or should it be John-Knee ;) lol we have a pair of knees now :hilarious:

Just don’t tell Hamish. Yes, I used to wonder why Johnny put up with her. She wasn’t just strong, she was bossy. She was worth watching not for her cooking but as an early education in how not to be. These days I wonder how many husbands used to behave like her when talking to their wives.

Good morning teabags, have a good day whatever you’re doing.
7.4 this morning, not too bad but could be better. Foot on floor shot’s in, cat’s had breakfast and now snoring, tea’s poured, birds at the feeder: a proper Sunday.

Fan-Knee was quite a formidable character :wideyed::nailbiting:
Hamish needs a friend FG, a female one, with a good Scottish name :D

Oh yes, if the other knee has to be replaced it’ll be called Morag - initially Moragony. I’m hoping it’ll be a while before she joins the family but I’ve an appointment in October to see if she should be hovering in the (bingo)wings or ready to swoop in.

Morning all, coasting along at 8.9 this morning so it's eggs and bacon for brekkie - enjoy your Sunday :)

Cough cough splutter splutter, think I have have caught the lurgy that @porl69 had a few weeks ago. My coughing sounds like a wounded baboon surprised you cannot hear ot down in Englandshire. Add to the mix my sinuses are blocked as well, so raging sore heads, its not been the best couple of days.

BG have been surprisingly OK ,not brilliant but I am happy with them without any major adjustments.

If its not any better tomorrow looks like a wee sick day for me, my first in years.

Off back to bed to watch some ****** TV

Semi-frantic prep for the Easter kite festival here.
Like packing 12 months kite ideas into one week !!
And they say Necessity is the Mother of Invention - or it that of copying and making use of whatever might work.?
Below is my 'answer' to making the side spars of a kite flex - recognise the prime components?

Fairygodmother, my neighbour here at home, had her first hip replcement done a few years ago and had a bit of a time with it, which influenced her decision to defer going on the waiting list for the second. At the time, the second was pain-free, but the consultant said she'd start to feel it very soon; especially when the replace became painfree itself. She was undeterred and decline.

When she eventually went on the list, due to the escalating pain that developed, as predicted, not only did she then, rightly, join the end of the queue, the criteria had changed, meaning her hip had to be worse than it would have been in the first instance.

By the time she had the other hip done, alst autumn, she was almost constantly in real pain and unable to do lots of the things she likes to do. Ironically, the second replacement, although different, was comparatively a dawdle, and she has just come back from a 6 bweek walking holiday in Australia, New Zealand and the Cook Islands, saying how wonderful if was. She was completely pain free.

Soooooo, I think what that ramble is saying, if the Doc says it's time to think,............... don't leave it too long. My neighbour rues the day she declined the invitation to join the waiting list.

Fingers crossed it will be a 24 hour thing. I know exactly what that cough sounds like

I think you’re right. And I always promised myself I’d celebrate being a septuagenarian by going to NZ and S Pacific Islands. I just want this one recovered before I have another - they say it takes a year before it’s properly tickety boo.
Glad your beighbpur’s had such a wonderful time!

I'd love to travel more but the dogs wouldn't cope well without us at all, and anyway we wouldn't leave them. Dizzy is too old, too dependent on my husband (who serves as guide-human when Dizzy's only eye is out of commission, which happens more often than we like), and the youngster - I just couldn't leave her. She's my little girl and I need her as much as she needs me...

Luckily I grew up with a Service dad and we lived all over the world, but I'd love to go back and see those countries with adult eyes.

I felt sorry for Johnny Craddock you could see that Fan-knee ruled the roost

Robs I’m surprised ‘Johnny’ hasn’t been starred out too lol

We have a (16 year old?) Cairn terrier, which couldn't be left behind. (Long story in which we never planned on owning a dog.)
LOL, quite often i'll be loading up the van & he'll jump in & refuse to get out if he thinks we're leaving without him..

What we did do was get him a pet passport.
Last year he did the Dutch beaches on a camping trip with us. The hound's quite happy with the consistency of the van to retire to after investigating different & varying dog friendly locations.. We go slightly off season, so the weather is pleasant. but not hot.

Though, sometimes i get the impression he's wanting the "the next quantum leap home" & jump out the van into our driveway..

He'll be doing France with us this year.. :p

You're right, she had a wonderful time. She usually does at least one big, long haul holday a year, but for a couple of years, she felt she had to cruise because she just couldn't cope with all the travelling, packing, unpacking, moving baggage and all that. She enjoyed cruising, but not as much as being more of a free spirit.

Hopefully, when they're looking at the nameless knee the surgeon will be able to guide you in terms of when you're ready and when to get on the list.

@Jaylee - that sounds a wonderful idea but Dizzy has such limited vision - blurred tunnel vision in one eye and the other eye had to be surgically removed a few years ago. We worry about him all the time. He gets ulcers at the drop of a hat in that one eye, and then he's blinded for a few weeks until we can get it healed up. Added to his woes is his appalling arthritis that limits his mobility (he gets daily painkillers). He's 13 now, but still has a huge zest for life, and enjoys himself a lot so while he's contented and happy, we'll just wait.

Thanks for the terrific idea though!

You're a rider...? I was brought up around horses. (probably over 20 years since sitting in a saddle?) Riding whilst hypo was interesting. LOL, the steed would lose focus too...
Yes @Jaylee most weekends are on the pony, can't seem to load a pic I'm afraid file too big?! All the time outdoors in extreme temperatures makes the bg difficult at times..... never mind fighting your way through 9 layers to administer insulin in the middle of winter
