Part 1 of extra organist's duties done and no need to think too much about the next round until Tuesday. Which is, from my point of view as an organist, a very easy funeral. No-one I know, canned music in and out, two well-known hymns I know off by heart, so can sing loudly as well, (Family members have been known to disown me for singing loudly at funerals... I just point out it's professional solidarity with the organist.)
I succumbed to some pizza from the food after the children's work at church this afternoon to everyone's shock and amazement. I am not renowned for eating anything at that point normally, as long as I've got my coffee, I'm fine. I didn't own up to the fact I was planning on a long walk for a bit of a Think about Life and the Universe once we'd finished, I'd gone home, and had my real meal (excellent chickpea curry which was a freezer find when I was concluding I needed to defrost it soon, so needed to eat up stuff soon as well) and I'm on a lovely pre-bed number right now after walking off my gloom, doom and despondency. (Nothing major, just a few things I needed to get my head around before making a decision or three.)
