Honestly folks, I am struggling to leave the side of the log burner :joyful: when I summer coming??! Not that I'm not deeply relieved for dry weather what with animals and all but please God :stop: can the freezing wind leave and could we have a few degrees warmer!?

Runs offs for a few Hail Marys! Just for good measure...... Also to consider if sleeping by said log burner is socially acceptable :hilarious:

@Knikki . If Jaffa cakes work for you then they must be an ideal hypo treatment and they provide happiness as well. That’s gotta be a win win.
Bit of a spike after roast beef dinner. Asked wife what time we was eating. About 5 she says. I pre bolus at 4. Somehow dinner was dished up at 4.30.:banghead::banghead::banghead:. I have severely reprimanded her and told her she’s got to buck her ideas up.:):):)
I’m hopeful the nose will stop bleeding soon and she’ll unlock the back door and let me back in from the garden.
Dexcom is steady at 7.6 which is good for me, if it stays on the same course for another hour I’ll be good for bed without a few crafty carbs.
Not keen on Jaffa cakes which will leave more for Knikki. Peanut butter......again not a great hypo remedy but it goes down a treat when things go low ( along with a few jelly babies :) )
One more week at work then a holiday to savour. It’s only Ourgate but it’s still a holiday.
Roll on Easter.:):):)

The lurgy has now kicked in with a vengance. Upped my Basal to a temp basal of 130% until 10 pm tonight, but my BG refuses to drop below 10 GRRRR.

Think may have to go up to 150% overnight

Evening all.

Your friendly what's it from "The House Of I Don't Give Flying Monkeys" as I sit here running at a ...hang on need to check...... 4.5 with a north east arrow.......I have just scoffed another Jaffa Cake :joyful: because I was 2.4 round half hour ago, I now realise just what a wonderus small bundle of absolute happiness they are :joyful:.

I really don't care if they are not the ideal hypo treatment but they work for me so I is a happy person......:joyful:

Everyone else all fine on this Sunday night?

I'll be honest with you buddy...
I drink milk in that state. I'll woof a Didgi... Somtimes it's better to have a steady ascent. I'll even eat a nana, if available.
So long as we come back to where we should be.

Still standing! ;) "Flying monkey" my local A&E.... :D

Yes @Jaylee most weekends are on the pony, can't seem to load a pic I'm afraid file too big?! All the time outdoors in extreme temperatures makes the bg difficult at times..... never mind fighting your way through 9 layers to administer insulin in the middle of winter

Lol, in can't seem to find nothing to prove my background.. But yep, brought up in the West Country everyone around me had a horse, including my folks.
When I first met my wife. A group of us decided to holiday, backpack/camping in Ireland.. My wife (then girlfriend.) & I broke from the group & I decided to rent a couple of "nags" for a hack... That's when I found out my "future wife" had no experience with horses Inspite of being brought up in another rural part of the UK? (You learn something new every day.)
Probaby the last time I rode.. :(

At least we didn't hire a canoe like the rest.... Dave nearly drowned.... :nailbiting::D

Part 1 of extra organist's duties done and no need to think too much about the next round until Tuesday. Which is, from my point of view as an organist, a very easy funeral. No-one I know, canned music in and out, two well-known hymns I know off by heart, so can sing loudly as well, (Family members have been known to disown me for singing loudly at funerals... I just point out it's professional solidarity with the organist.)

I succumbed to some pizza from the food after the children's work at church this afternoon to everyone's shock and amazement. I am not renowned for eating anything at that point normally, as long as I've got my coffee, I'm fine. I didn't own up to the fact I was planning on a long walk for a bit of a Think about Life and the Universe once we'd finished, I'd gone home, and had my real meal (excellent chickpea curry which was a freezer find when I was concluding I needed to defrost it soon, so needed to eat up stuff soon as well) and I'm on a lovely pre-bed number right now after walking off my gloom, doom and despondency. (Nothing major, just a few things I needed to get my head around before making a decision or three.)

Hi,

It don't normally eat prior to a "gig" myself... If you can belt out "Smoke on the water" with a sense of irony. You maybe hired...
It will be a humanist affair... But not just yet! ;):)

I want Alter Bridge - It All Ends Well from the Fortress album. My dad had a couple of Louis Armstrong numbers (I wanted Basin Street Blues for him but it was gently pointed out that it's a bit long .....) and Mum went out to Eva Cassidy's Over the Rainbow.

Hugs to the llurgy ridden - be well soon!

All of us - stay level if we can and I wish you jaffa cakes (Oreos - my particular choice), peanut butter - whatever you can find in the fridge - if you do happen to dip a little much.

Traditionally (well, for most of the 60+ Sundays since I went on to insulin) I've run high all day on Sunday when I'm playing. Breakfast is 4 hours before church, so I've little if no IOB by the time I get to it. The monthly two hours worth of children's work in the afternoon always ends with masses of the kind of food which I never touched in my misdiagnosed as T2 diet/meds "controlled" days, and still don't if I'm still running high from the morning. It was nice to be low enough to glance at the pizza and have a piece this time knowing full well it was going to get walked off. Just wish the adults would stop trying to tell me what I can/can't eat.

Always as well to be prepared for funerals, I find! My music list and full instructions have been a work in progress for the last 30 years - and I've absolutely no intention of getting them used just yet.

And, yes, I probably could belt out "Smoke on the Water" with the appropriate sense of irony!

Good morning friends

Bright sunny a little bit cool so won’t be wearing my speedos

Have a very good Monday

Spent all weekend trying to get the mower going, as you may know I generally suffer from a bad back - whilst skiing last week I had a 'tumble' (more like full on superman flying through the air crash) and landed on my back knocking the wind out of me - truth be known I wouldn't be surprised if I had cracked a rib! Could I pull the starter cord on the mower? nope! It also has an electric start.............with a dead battery, tried hooking it up to my daughters electric scooter...........with a dead battery, tried charging up both........still dead batteries. At least my BGs were stable and in range. Funnily I was able to start the rotovator up the allotment yesterday evening - pulling the starter must have been at a different angle...........:angelic:

The grass does need cutting so hopefully by the time I get home from work tonight the wife has borrowed the MILs electric mower and done the lawns...............I can only hope!

Morning all! Resurfacing from my family party weekend on a 5.1 after nearly 9 hours much needed sleep. All went well and am now looking forward to a more relaxed week.
@Knikki love a graveyard. Always wander around churchyards in new places. As part of in Bloom work we do a lot of work in our churchyard and it brings me a lot of happiness. Fascinating about the rope and anchor. Did not know that and shall be searching some out. I think my fascination started as a child when I regularly visited my Grampys grave with my Nanny.

Does your sick day plan allow for incrementally increasing bolus as well? And are increases of basal and ? bolus scaled for the fact that most of us find insulin resistance builds as the BSL get higher?

Funerals: My dads finished up with The Chain (the BBCs Classic Formula 1 Intro) - as his coffin moved off and the curtains closed.........and they're off! :D

Hi @kitedoc, yes I have increased Bolus slightly as well although to be fair not eaten many carbs.

Being a numpty I forgot to increase my temp Basal and just had normal levels going through. Woke up early morning with a 6.1 then a 5.2 at around 6.30 am before finally getting up to a 7.4 at 9 oclock so not too dreadful

Hope you guys all have a good day, me i am off back to bed with my hot water bottle to watch a box set of stuff

Good morning all.
Last funeral I went to was for a friend who was really into his fishing and his boat, his last tune was the theme tune to Captain Pugwash....a few sniggers could be heard when the tune started.
Bloods have been ace all weekend. Set change last night, put it into the top of my leg, absorption is not soo good there!!! Been running a wee bit high since the set change last night grrrrr
@smc4761 hope things get better for you soon
