Type 1'stars R Us

For me May seemed to take forever this year. Anyway onto June!
Woke on an 11, possibly due to lie in?
 
Morning! :)
I woke up on 4.5 and I realised it’s my bf’s birthday tomorrow and not the 6th June. Oopsie but I was organised and got him a card prior to finding out it was tomorrow Apparently we are seeing his family tomorrow so my introvert self is hissing.
 
Who doesn't love a round of chicken catching in the nettles before coffee? Perfect start of my day I'd say :hilarious:
Either the fence is a little too short or I left their feather wings a little too long. So if they think I'm late feeding them, one or two chickens flap over the fence when I come out. Not a problem really, except the nettles have grown pretty high by now and I usually feed my chickens while waiting for the coffee to get ready before having gotten dressed, so wearing only my underpants and a t-shirt. And I tell myself every time I should at least get shoes and something to cover my legs before diving in the nettles but I just don't listen to myself :banghead: I'm starting to understand what my parents and teachers meant when they nagged me about being stubborn.
At least it's said nettles are good for arthritis, and it seems to work, as I don't have that :)
 
Everyone is saying it is sunny but I'm looking outside with my iced coffee (extra ice today) and the sun is barely showing. Could anyone adopt me please so I can feel some vitamin D. :hilarious:
 
We are going to have a BBQ. I hate (insert your own profanity) BBQs. Husband loves them.
 
We have spent a fortune and got a new three piece suite. It will be delivered in 5 weeks or sooner but we will get enough notice to organise son & his mate to come and shift existing furniture to front of house so that the Council can collect it (for a fee). It is in shocking condition and no charity shop would take it, I know.

Also, new tattoo studio opened in my local shopping stand. It has a website so I'm going to check it out. I can ask my daughter in law to take a look too; she knows a good tatt when she sees one (gifted tatt artist in her own right).

Other than that we got a new stock pot (for the tofu), a shallow stove top casserole pan, a milk pan and a small frying pan that I fell in love with. Husband and I agreed that we might as well as not get them all at once, so we did. Ages since we had new pans!

I have just done all my laundry and gardening before the local BBQ and bonfire devotees get going! I've discovered if I'm up as early as I usually am, get going on the quiet gardening, then do the noisy gardening when there are signs of life all around, by the time I've put my stuff away, and the laundry has dried, I'm safe from the music not of my choice and the smoke. I also usually hurriedly make sure the windows are all closed!

Horrid feeling this is a rogue batch of Novorapid. I've been running in low double figures for two days now, no matter how much of the stuff I throw in. Given long distance walking and gardening usually drop me quickly, and they really haven't (15 miles walking yesterday on full doses of NR, 5 hours of gardening this morning, likewise, and needed a correction dose about 2 hours ago, - normally I'd half the dose until I've stopped these activities, not need correction doses!) I'm going to start a new pen from a new box at lunchtime and see what happens.

Isn't the traditional trick to put it out of the front with a sign saying "For sale, £50", and see how long it is before it disappears? This apparently works better than "Free to a good home".
 
I had a hypo from my coffee and cream earlier, I guess I didn't need novorapid for it which makes me a bit frustrated because I'll have the same thing tomorrow and shoot up. Diabetes needs to make up it's mind. :hilarious:

I was very excited when my book arrived through the post today. Upon receiving it I noticed the book was badly packed, it was loosely chucked into a paper envelope with nothing to protect the book from bumps and moisture. There was even a hole in the envelope:o So far Amazon and other online shops and certain sellers/companies on ebay pack their books perfectly. I’ve sent photos to the seller and said it was absolutely unacceptable to pack books this way. Like what if it rained? Or moisture soaked the envelope? I even suggested how to pack books properly. Call me silly but I feel like the book has it’s feelings battered around in an envelope so now they want me to return the book by circling the return address on the envelope, part of me feels a bit sceptical because what if it gets lost in the post and how do they know I’ve posted it back because there’s no proof of postage. Also I don’t like returning stuff because it’s always a bit awkward and I’m not the sort of person to complain. But anyway thats my rant about books
As for diabetes, it’s being a good boy today even after the hypo, it raised to 6.2 and stayed there until I had a banana. I had to force myself to eat that banana, I’m still fullish from coffee and cream from this morning.
 
I'm surprised at the seller, and hope it all gets sorted out.

I have filled in the online form with the British Heart Foundation for them to come and collect all the spare furniture from my ex-office (now craft room again). I asked for a Wednesday morning, preferably during June and they will phone me next week.

That makes me feel better because all the furniture is in very good nick, and I very much didn't want it just wasted. I filled in a form for a different organisation a couple of weeks ago but never heard a peep from them. They were a small local concern that I wanted to support. However, I'd rather support a nationwide charity than none at all.

Once that furniture has gone, I can deal with the re-arranging on the sitting room (to include taking some stuff up to the craft room) so that by the time the new suite arrives it should all look a lot more open and spacious down here. Or so goes the theory .....
 
We were trying to work out the last time we had actual new - properly new, not just new-to-us furniture in the sitting room. It's so many years we couldn't count it back! Even the bedroom stuff was my mum's. I kept hoping that before I retired I'd have enough to buy us a new carpet or two, but it isn't going to happen. Still, they shampoo up nicely :) And if we had new new ones I might get irritated if the dogs threw up, or there were spills. This way I'm totally chilled about it all.

Just finished a cuppa, need to get a shower ( it's very warm here), bring washing in and think about dinner, but no idea what I am going to have yet ?
 
Sitting on my sofa, back door is open, the sun is shining through, all is quiet except for the beautiful bird song, isn't nature lovely :happy::joyful:
