I'm making parmigan, seitan steaks, seitan bacon and tomorrow I want to make some banana chocolate chip cookie things. Sort of welcome back to my mate at work who has been on holiday. I have missed her!

In the meantime - the day after my tattoo was done. In a month or two it's gonna look great; looks really raw and new at the moment but I've had enough of them to be able to know that he's done a good job with it. It's a difficult place to tattoo on older skin but he took such incredible care I don't think I've got any colour bleed that will notice. In the meantime, still a bit bruised and has scabbed up nicely.

Good morning y'all, it's a dull start to the day and did we have rain last night. Supposed to be going out this afternoon to a possible village fete, but hoping for better weather, so we need lots of positive vibes for good weather over the weekend !
Went to bed on 6.5 and awoke on 9.8 :wideyed:
Happy Saturday y'all :)

Good morning everyone have a great weekend regardless of this rain which hasnt stopped since yesterday afternoon

Wellies are useful but I'm afraid @Robinredbreast that's as positive as it comes today

Morning guys - shopping all done & dusted, looking forward to brekkie.

One of my weekend favourites - cashew & hazelnut butter on toast :hungry:

Vibing like mad for you and the fete - such fun - everyone knows everyone and it's so relaxed (except for the cake competition!)

Right - gotta head for the kitchen and cook for a few hours - yum!

Oops... turns out a 2-hour pre-bolus is slightly too long. Woke up at the usual time, basal, bolus + extra for the slightly too high fasting number - thought I'd have an extra ten minutes before getting up properly and promptly fell asleep again. Woke up again on a 3.8. .

Also turns out the moment a student went to announce to Main Colleague "I think Japes is having a meltdown" and all students were taken off me for ten minutes whilst I tried to sort me and the muddle out in peace was the precursor to the brewing cold and sore throat which is making its presence felt this morning.

I am taking all this as a Sign to have the laziest time possible between this afternoon's party for my favourite 10-year-old (12-year-old sibling will also be grateful for my presence for a bit - we can introvert in a corner in peace, and watch the younger raging extrovert 10-year-olds enjoy themselves) tomorrow's church in the morning and the evening confirmation service with the 12 year old being confirmed. The 10-year-old may be sat next to me for supervision purposes (question answering/observation comments etc) though as I won't be on the organ stool, or in the case of the church we're going to the piano stool, it may be me who needs the supervising. There are Reasons I'm best off occupied on the organ stool.

Next job is to try to delete the jam reading from Glimp without throwing away all my data. :banghead:

I'm not sure whether Glimp has this, but maybe worth having a hunt around in Settings for something along the lines of what xDrip+ calls Calibration Data Table. With that I can long-press the sketchy calibration and it gives me the option of deleting it. Or, if I do another calibration quite soon, it'll over-ride the earlier one.

Gah! I’d forgotten how exasperating the student loan people are to deal with...

In the space of a week I have had:

Letter one, arrived Monday - we’ll give you a reduced amount of student loan because you get an NHS bursary for your course. Fair enough.

Email arrived Thursday - URGENT! We need evidence of something or other which you need to phone us to find out what. So I ring them to be told it’s not actually that urgent, and to expect a letter asking from some confirmation of my bursary. Ok, I can deal with that.

Letter two (same day as email arrives) - exactly the same as letter one. So I accept that and do nothing.

Letter three, dated the same day as the email was sent and responded to by phone, arrived this morning - you’re not getting anything at all.

So I try to phone and sort it out, but their lines are only open on weekdays. When I’m at work and can’t just nip off to make lengthy and frustrating phone calls.

:banghead::mad::banghead:

Popped a new Libre sensor on this morning only to have the blue filament housing sitting proud of its surface - I poked it in with a pen and am hoping for the best. Not looking good, says to try again in ten minutes. So that’s another office-hours-only phone call I’m going to have to make  It’ll be a long and boring spell sat in a school car park after lessons on Monday afternoon sorting all this stuff out!

Hope you’re all having less frustrating mornings!

I'm having a pause while the seitan bacon is in the press. (Well, alright, it's wrapped in greaseproof with our heaviest chopping board squashing it). Once it's out of the press it just goes in the oven and slices into rashers when it comes out again.

That leaves the banana chocolate chip cookies for tomorrow, and the deep dish quiche I've put off until Wednesday and then we can have it fresh for dinner.

Have been in and out of the house in between showers and bg is going up and down today as much as I've been going in and out. Can't account for some of it; some of it due to rage eating before setting out walking on a 4 which I knew could only lead to trouble..... My exciting Saturday will continue as I stick my head in the oven in a (possibly) vain attempt to make up for months (okay years) of neglect in cleaning the inside. Outside, fine, inside, no-one else sees it....until we have an everyone bring something meal like we did Thursday night and someone does

If it is at all affordable get one of the travelling oven cleaning people - everyone I know who has been lucky enough to employ one says that they do a fantastic job for not too much money. Thankfully ours is one of self-cleaning ones but I remember cleaning the previous one - really hard, dirty work.

I really should clean mine / investigate costs to get someone else to do it.

Has anyone else with the libre noticed the time in target goes up quite slowly when your in range but comes down very quickly when you go out of range

The post office must be making heaps of money !!

Dunno whether to be pleased its Thiem that is through to the final with Rafa, or really sorry it's not Djokovic. I wanted it to be Roger but that was not to be. Looking forward to the final tomorrow!
