Type 1'stars R Us

well i never got me pump it was more of a discussion to make sure i still wanted it and why i wanted it . the whole process is gonna take up to 12 weeks got to see the dietician to make sure i can still carb count properly...***:banghead::banghead:after looking at the pumps what were on offer i have decided to go for the ypso one as medtronic one was very heavy also i raised concerns about once i got the pump they will stop libre but nurse said if i start finger pricking 8 times a day between now and when i actually get the pump i will meet the criteria again to get libre prescribed again maybe a week or so overlap so that made me happy although not looking forward to it .also when i start on pump it will be straight onto the insulin not a week on saline which to be honest i didnt see the point of anyway.feel a bit deflated now but heyho the end is in sight enjoy the rest of your day everyone :)

Awww, that was so frustrating for you Karen, fingers crossed that all goes well in 12 weeks ( September)

Hello friends, I woke up a bit high 14.5 :o I'm not surprised after a two day fight with hypos. I'm seeing my consultant tomorrow, so I have stories to tell him and he would probably breathe down my neck. I'm still cleaning up vomit residue and even the wash didn't take the smell out. :arghh: I hope everyone is doing okay!

@MeiChanski @karen8967 & @porl69 - have a hug, sounds like you’re having a pants time of it just now!

Not long home from a brand new school (to me), and an hour in the car park after work trying to sort out my student loan debacle. It seems I just have to send them a copy of a letter from the NHS confirming they’ll be paying my tuition fees. Amusingly their postcode ends in 9FU :hilarious:

So I’m spending the evening collating paperwork and compose strongly worded letter of complaint about their ineptitude. Like they’ll care... And when I’ve got off my high horse, I’ll be having a bash at installing the complicated version of Spike as opposed to the easy version I’m currently running. I need it’s extra features to run Loop, I understand. The app is built and on my phone, it’s all getting rather exciting! RileyLink should be here in a few weeks.

The massive FotF spike came back into range around 10am and I’ve been steady ever since, I’m still working out how much to give to deal with it. I get up one hour before I need to leave the house, potentially driving 60 miles. I’m trying to dose the instant I see the uptick on my graph, but if I don’t know how high it’s going to go, I don’t know how much to give. Some days I get it spot on, others... not so much. Any ideas, hive mind?

Try washing the floor etc with a strong solution of bicarb. That's the stuff that stops fridges' ponging (pop some in an egg cup). It helps a bit with smells. (Patch test first, just to be on the safe side)

I seemed to have picked up a stinking cold, so come on here and see if I can spread around a little.

Well rude not to share :hilarious:

So that's where my cold's come from! I've been blaming students all day! I have the sneezles, the wheezles, the achings. But, remarkably, reasonably in range bloods ever since last night's rage bolus.

Fortunately, no piano lessons tonight, no walk because it's raining and once I've dealt with two small tasks, I'm taking myself off for an early night to see if I can beat this cold into submission. Summer colds are always worse than winter ones with me.

Happy Birthday, us!!

Thank you, does it work on the under side of the sofa? :sorry:

Tip the sofa over onto its back so that the bottom is sideways up, and then attack the offensive patch. First with the biological washing powder, hot water and a scrubbing brush, then if there's still any pong left, go with the bicarb.

Thank you Wutwo!
When it happened, I sprinkled salt on told of the patch because my scientific mind said it'll soak up the moisture and be antibacterial. :hilarious: I've vacuumed the salt up and viola, a patch is left to attack.

@Knikki hope you soon feel better. It’s very kind of you to offer to share your cold but no thanks - however if it were cake......

Lol, I thought people are supposed to share a little tenderness, not snottiness ;):D but sending you a get well ((((hug))))

Ok ok I know am late to the party ... I assume there is a birthday party with a few low carb offerings, some vegan options and a hot toddy for the colds.

Talking of colds, I am wondering if my sore throat may be a precursor to some sniffs. And I have decided @Knikki is to blame.
Hopefully, it will be a quick one because we are off to the South of France tomorrow. It was going to be a staycation but the weather had other ideas so, last night, we decided to leave the country and spend some time in Euroland before we leave and face longer queues at the boarder ... until my Irish Foreign Birth Registration is approved.

Today was a bit of chilling with some holiday planning. I have ironed everything that hadn’t been and tomorrow I will decide what to be packed. As I am not working, my desk is now piled high with non clothing stuff to pack. Toiletries decanted into smaller bottles, diabetes stuff put aside, camera battery charged, kindle charged and filled with unread books, Fitbit charged, ...

Don't forget @kniiki likes cake, always room for some cake :)
Happy Hols Helen, be safe and have a great time :)

Tonight is one of those nights where I have to force myself to eat food. :o BG has come down to a nice level - 6.6, but I was in double figures for around 6-7 hours. Diabetes was tanking some sugar  I'll let everyone know how my appointment goes tomorrow.
