My DSN called again to say my consultant agreed to put me forward for insulin pump therapy so I'll be waiting for a pre-pump appointment, then after a pump training appointment and then another appointment to set it up. :D

Evening all.
A really boring day. BS nothing special, work, well let’s just say my management team couldn’t organise a drunken party in a brewery.;) ( I would have put p’ up but I’m being watched ).
As a slight aside and a bit of information for anyone who is as adventurous as me.
Peanut butter and natural set yogurt does not make for something remotely edible. It seemed a goodish idea at the time:):):)but definitely NO.
Have an enjoyable evening everyone.
@Knikki has been absent for longer than he should have been. Hopefully he’s just taking a break.

I’ve spent the afternoon munching hypo treatments. It has finally settled and diabetes and I can retreat back to base (my bed) and recharge our batteries. Could I ask does anyone know anyone with a pump with intergrated cgm thingy bobby? I don’t know what I’m trying to say but I’m interested in reading anyone’s experiences with it. I’ve only been offered medtronic 670g because it was the only one out of the 3 options with a hybrid closed loop system. Also does anyone bully their pump into submission to do what you tell it to do or not really because your pump is well behaved? I am feeling a bit more positive that my nurse didn’t tear me apart about low carb way of eating. So I guess I could continue it with close monitoring. I told my parents about it too and they are indeed relieved. My mum is happy as well, she spent a lot of time in hospital with me and she has witnessed DKA and severe hypos, the full extent of diabetes. On the other hand, does anyone jazz up their pumps? I haven’t found a sticker or skin that I liked yet. I’m not feeling floral or patterns. Preferably a plain one would be nice. I also haven’t really thought of a name for my pump, how does dobby sound? Derpy dobby doing it’s thing. Anyway, sorry for the long post, your girl has been researching and reading. Good night, friends :)

Good morning, @MeiChanski so pleased you are going for a pump, that is good news :)
BG still being APIA and hoping I get my sensor from Boots at least by Wednesday, but I'm not counting on it !
Off to work soon, it's a nice run, friendly driver and 4 boys, ranging from 9 to 19.
Mist and fog this morning, so I wonder what the roads will be like ?
Happy Tuesday Folks.

Morning chaps, nice on on the pump, @MeiChanski ! AFAIK the 670g suspends insulin when it’s in Auto Mode, but you can’t set the lower level below 6.7mmol. It uses a Guardian sensor, quite a lot of Americans use it, so maybe ask in some of the international FB groups? I customise all my kit - stickers for Libre and MiaoMiao, purple sparkly skin for my meter, and a 3d printed shell on my pod that says “proud owner of a useless pancreas” ;) I wasn’t too keen on the matt finish, so sprayed it up with metallic purple car paint. If I’ve got to wear this stuff on my body, it needs to fit the aesthetic. I’m owning it.

Anyway, just waiting for my ride and off we go to Swansea. I’m driving tomorrow. Bag weighs a ton, most of it iPad and lunch. There’s a lunch provided today but I doubt any of it will be suitable. Had a buffet at the conference on Sunday, and none of it was even marked as meaty/veggie, let alone with allergens. Bloods steady overnight, have done what I’m told with the foot on the floor. Let’s see.

Have a good one chaps ❤️

Good morning all,

I'm not feeling so great this morning, a midnight hypo had me waking up with a BG of 21 this morning. So I am somewhat grumpy, sick & tired!
Why must I eat until I cannot eat anymore when I'm low o_O:wacky:

I hope everyone else is set for a great day

@Manfer87 night time hypos are the devils work - you have to be so self controlled to not over treat those hypos, just when you're at your weakest too!

spaghetti meatballs last night and I miss timed the bolus and probably got the carb count wrong too - if I was wearing a Libre it would have been mountain high valley deep.

Hey @slip

I know right, waking up low is just the ultimate test. I am normally ok ish at controlling what I eat when low during the day.
But that goes out the window when I wake up in the night!

Ah hopefully next time you'll absolutely nail it!!

Good morning all
Pfffft to diabetes!!!!! I had a hypo just before bed last night. I am usually pretty good with NOT over treating a hypo BUT a bar of chocolate and 5 jelly babies later I wandered upto bed! Alarms going off at 3 am with a 17.8 OOPSIE :) woke to a 8.4 after a large correction in the night. Tired and hypo = eat too much rubbish.
So @Manfer87 even us seasoned, so called pros, make big mistakes :)

Afternoon friends,

If we put out some homemade cake, do you think that would summon @Knikki? and sending lots of hugs to @WuTwo.
Thank you all for the messages :) 7.1 this morning, I think my dsn and my suspicions are correct that tresiba is being naughty and pushes or drags levels down, so I'll have to do another basal test.
I think you're right @Mel dCP, I've been scrolling on instagram and so far the Americans quite like their medtronic. I feel the Europeans are leaning towards the tandem and dexcom G6. I did ask about the tandem and my dsn said they have been a bit slow getting back to them and they were not keen on their customer service yet because medtronic have been fantastic. So far I've read the metronic CGM is not as superior as dexcom G6. While I've not had much issue with my libre, it'd be interesting to know if the metronic guardian sensor is as good as dexcom G6. I was attracted to the 670g before DAFNE because their safeguarding and auto mode was the selling point for me.
I've so far found a case for the pump, not so much of a skin so I might do a custom one.
Does anyone think it'll be too much going on? pump, cgm and libre? the full works?

If you have the CGM, you shouldn't need the Libre. And if your diabetes team are willing to refer you for this set up they believe (with the appropriate training) this should be good for you and not too much.

Another CGM/Pump combo is the Medtrum.
In the past they have not had great reviews for their CGM but I heard yesterday that they have a new one coming out which may be better.
I think it has the auto cutoff feature like the Medtronic.
My experience of the Metrum customer support is excellent but I am slightly concerned that i have had to call upon them so maybe their product is not so good?
I was thinking about that all evening, I'm happy to give up the libre because of the pump choice. I'll wait for a pre pump appointment, then once that is smooth sailing I'll contact my consultant about taking libre off my script or he lets my GP know in writing. I'm sure he will because my gp knows about my insulin changes before I get them on my script. I did read about the Medtrum being the tubeless pump with cgm integration. I think it was Medtrum, Medtronic, Animas? and Tandem that have the CGM/safeguarding mode or cut off point with hypo prediction. I think you're one of the few people who has a pump that not many people have. So their customer support is in working order?

I switched milks, I decided to try unsweetened almond milk because the shop didn't have soy. Nil carb content but my BG was rising from the 7.1, so I did a small dose for coffee and rising blood glucose. *kicks my liver*

From scrolling through instagram and looking at our beautiful type 1s with their gear, I feel a sudden onset of body consciousness. I'm sitting here with my belly hanging out in my boxers like what's good? :hilarious:
