My last replacement one was one of the newer models of the 780g and it was in a sealed box (the plastic wrap seal stuff) so I can only assume it’s brand new

I feel for you @Nicola M I really dislike tech failures. I realize things aren't perfect and I'm happy we have them in the first place, but it can drive you nuts when things go wrong. About 10 days ago I had 3 Dexcom sensors from 3 different lots go bad. The first one almost from the start it started me off 5.6 points higher than I was, calibrated it half way because I know they don't like huge calibrations to have it within a few minutes revert to the really high number. It just wouldn't take a calibration. Finally after many many repeated calibrations it finally took it, to have it do the same thing 2 days later. Called Dexcom, because it's weird that it kept reverting, to have them say sensor error we'll replace it. Next one, same thing, but I wasn't going to try hours of calibrating again.. 3rd one says I'm under 2.2 (40) when I am 6.1(109). So then I am wondering if it's me somehow except I wear a Libre to for swimming and it's behaving fine. So the 4th one I switch the transmitter and delete the ap from my phone and use the receiver to start one and it has been working fine for 5 days. So I think somehow the ap on my phone got corrupted? Or it was the transmitter I replaced, but it seems like it is more likely the ap, but? I've got to still call in the 3rd one so I will see what they say. It was a very frustrating experience and I want to redownload the ap onto my phone but am almost afraid too, but the phone ap is much better than the receiver alone.

Lol......... Mercury must be playing with me. Now my Omnipod PDM said error yesterday, I thought it said metal error (my glasses weren't on). Then today I got the same message and realized it said meter error. Both times I hit OK and it went away and my PDM worked fine. But I called Omnipod thinking uh oh, my newly already replaced a few months ago PDM is fritzing. It turns out meter error meant the "test strip didn't read/work" Only thing is I never use that part of it and had even forgotten it does that. They are sending a replacement. But at least it still works and I will save the old one as a backup and I guess with some pods so I have a back up since they are discontinuing my eros model at the end of the year. Sooner or later I will have to switch to Dash.

Good Morning @Marie2 Happy Easter Weekend to all those that are off work or on holiday. After a cracking start to the week here sunshine wise, it has been wet and miserable yesterday and so far today. Hoping for better things tomorrow.
Just got back from 3rd swim this week and preparing for the weekly shop. 100% TIR steady as she goes for 2 days so had been doing a little dance. Then I had 3 alarms in the night for lows. Go figure! Luckily caught them before the dip but swimming has just put me up. Did it put me up the previous 2 occasions-No! Anybody who thinks you can crack this disease is having a laugh. Onwards into battle I go.

Went to my opticians today for a routine eye check and she took a look in the backs of my eyes, she said I most definitely still have signs of maculopathy but thinks the hospital will say I still don’t need any treatment, it’s no worse than before but not better either. My appointment with the hospital is in 3 weeks. Slightly disappointed but also happy it’s not worsening

@Nicola M I am so sorry to hear that, eye stuff is always so scary. Hugs your way. There are several types of Maculopathy, my eye doctor that treated my Glaucoma recommended taking an eye vitamin with extra Lutein to help prevent Macular Degeneration.

Hi everyone, hope you're all well. Have a good weekend.

First occlusion with tslim pump yesterday evening. Talk about bad timing, ok there's never a good time, but you know what I mean. I'd just got in from quite a distressing time with a friend, and was totally stressed out, so when bloods started rising, I though it was due to stress, and just gave a correction dose to compensate. Then the pump alarmed with an occlusion, so I'd got no idea how much correction dose had been absorbed. It all settled down after a few hours, but don't you just love technology at times!! Great when it all works well, but when it doesn't..........!!

I sympathise as I, also, get occlusions with T:slim, sometimes within 12 hrs of a new cannula. Those unexpected highs take a few hours to come down. When occlusions occur with my pump, I look at the pump history to see the amount of insulin that has gone through. I also carry insulin pens with me, so that I can inject when necessary. I think that I have had fewer occlusions since I downloaded newer software a couple of weeks ago.

Just seen this piece via the homepage here: https://www.diabetes.co.uk/news/202...for-3d-printed-tissue-diabetes-treatment.html. I've no idea how long it will take for this to reach fruition; I assume they're targetting beta cells. I suspect I'll be too old by the time it's freely available, and according to my consultant, he's very pleased with my control (I'm less impressed) so I'd be unlikely to be at the front of the queue on those grounds. However, I think it's the most exciting prospect for ages for anyone likely to benefit if it all works out.

Good morning everyone. Hope you all have a nice weekend. Pouring down here, grey and misty.

Had a hospital appointment this morning, and bp taken with automatic machine was 199/81. Asked for it to be taken manually, as have had high readings with automatic machines before, (and it's fine when taken manually), but was refused on this occasion. I know there's been another thread recently about this, but it just makes me cross when the patient isn't listened to. Nurse just kept saying it's far too high!!

Sorry to hear this.

The nurse or HCA should take it 3 times and cannot refuse if you ask for your blood pressure to be taken again. It should be manual as it is usually more likely to be accurate.
A lot of us suffer from “white coat syndrome” and they know this.

This sort of thing makes me so cross. I hope you can get this rectified. Good luck.

@Hopeful34 That's just really weird. I don't get why they wouldn't want to retake it manually. Do you think maybe they didn't know how? Because it doesn't make sense. But sometimes you get people with a one track mind way of thinking and even though they might get told something, they just won't budge from what they think is the right or only way.

I have major white coat syndrome. They had me bring in proof of readings at home so they could document it into my chart. When it's really high they usually wait to take it again at the end of my visit so I've had time to relax more. That works to some extent. Manually doesn't make much of a difference. If I get used to a specific doctor and don't feel that it matters it can be normal, in a recent colonoscopy and being knocked out it was normal. When I was really completely tired from a horrible night and not caring, I was at normal. Worse thing to do is let me watch the machines numbers while it's taking it.

It feels too much like a test I'm going to fail. But I periodically test at home and it's fine.
