I am fed up of hearing people **** off type 2 Diabetics saying we are all overweight and its life style causing this horrible disease i would like to point out it has took me almost 18 months 4 my gp to listen to me. In my case it's not about how much I eat cuz my stomach is huge n the rest of my body is in per portion. Two facts are i suffer from bile salts malabsorption eseophagutis gastritis chostocondritis high cholesterol and reason i fat is cuz of bile salts which caused onset diabetes and it also runs threw my family rant over

I agree. It is very annoying when people make assumptions regarding "lifestyle". It's lack of education. How much did you know about diabetes before you were diagnosed ? I'll be honest and say until I found out I had diabetes, I was ignorant about many things too. Unfortunately, there is a correlation between type 2 diabetes and obesity etc. Obviously this is not the case for yourself. Education is key, but we should respect that non diabetics are not going to trawl the internet swatting up on the disease !

Have you been seen by a specialist for the costochondritis? I finally got that part of my problems smoothed out by cortisone injections and after several treatments I've not been bothered by the condition since, and the gastric reflux is kept in check with a proton pump inhibitor.
You do have to keep on at some of these GP's but persistence usually pays dividends
