Type 2 Diabetes cleanse

Hi @grownmenchoppingitup and welcome to the forums.

A lot of T2 members here have put themselves into remission and reduced or eliminated their medication by reducing the carbohydrate in their diet. But they usually have to keep to a low carb diet to stay in remission so am not sure whether the condition is exactly reversed.

Hopefully there will be some T2s along soon to give more detail.

If this is for yourself, can I ask how long you've been diabetic and how long on insulin?

Once more, welcome.

What is an effective cleanse to reverse Type 2 Diabetes ?
Hi and welcome.

What worked for me was a 20g carb a day keto way of eating. I was diagnosed in December 2019, and I've been in remission since summer 2020, according to the new definition of remission.

I normally go 16-18 hours between eating anything substantial. I wouldn't describe it as a "cleanse" - it just removes the things - carbs and sugar - that cause elevated blood glucose. I am still diabetic - it's not a cure, but 95% of my symptoms have gone and all the ones associated with high BG.

Best of luck

I do pretty much the same, and it works well for me.
