Hi Kim, yes this is a good place to chat. Sorry for awarding you a funny emoticon but I have a very vivid imaginationI haven't tried golf myself, my husband and I are keen hillwalkers, hikers and swimmers. Until recently I travelled locally on my bicycle and played badminton but gave these up two years ago when my circumstances changed. It's good to have another person who enjoys humour - pun anyone?- to chat to, I'm really amazed that we've not been shut down on the fasting BG thread- the mods used to be very strict about posting fbg levels only on there and although I'm a culprit myself I do think things have been getting out of hand recently. There is also a thread called "Good Morning" on this forum which is a nice friendly place to chat, you will be very welcome there too. Hope your knees are none the worse today?
Harleylooyar! as one of my little friends once wrote - at last the quest is over! I'm really envious at the thought of these chips enjoyHi everyone, I just got back from Morrison's and I finally found a celeriac! Ironically Morrison's is our nearest supermarket but it's in the opposite direction to everything else so I have to make a special trip there. I just have to pop out to top up the electric meter but after that I'm free for the rest of the night so I'm going to try celeriac chips woo hoo!
How about starting a new thread @Hiitsme for general questions, most people don't like starting new threads every time they want a bit of reassurance or to ask a question and not everyone likes using the search facility. Most people want a person they "click" with ie a real human to answer them. You could have a think what to call the new thread then we could ask the Mod's permission. I wouldn't worry about your HbA1c being a little higher this time, I was thrilled with my 40 and I regularly get a reading in 7s -especially after dinner or if I don't get my usual exercise that day. Seems to me that you're aceing it x
Oh sorry did I give you a scare with my suggestion? Yes, you are quite right, this thread is for chatting about our type 2 life, I was just trying to be creative and involve you. I'll go and stand in the corner lol PLEASE don't stop posting and using the forum - my badBut that is what this thread is for or am I mistaken. This was the thread I was told to use so have been using it. I suppose I will be another who feels not able to use the forum. So many people no longer seem to be around and some of them have been really helpful in the past. I don't know how to ask the Mod's permission and yes you are also right in that I don't feel comfortable in starting a new thread.
@13lizanne and @Hiitsme - hope you don't mind me comming into your conversation? But, Yes I agree with your idea to set up a thread were sensible questions and answers can be asked from other members and encouragement given to help those manage their diabetes. As this thread is mostly banter/chat now. Hope you did'nt mind me saying?
Thanks. The sleep study test has hours and hours of data to be analysed so that's why it can take ages. The data includes ECG, EEG, EMG, Oxygen Saturations, Chest and Breathing Movements, Eye and chin movements and more. I don't expect a quick reply and the letter said roughly 6 weeks max.I don't know whether to say 'No news is good news' or 'How dare they keep you waiting', you choose.
Enjoy your meal.
