Hello friends. A question... Could cramp be caused by lack of salt? For the last couple of hours I've been getting cramp in my hands and toes. So I've got an oxo cube dissolved in boiling water to give me some salt. Does anybody have any ideas?

@mo53 I get cramps quite a lot and not been able to pin them down to anything... often when I wake up and stretch my legs out... other times it wakes me up and I is in agony.... :arghh:.... being LCHF I drink quite a lot and peedle quite a lot and wonder if I washing my salts away, so I tend to cover my greens with salt, pepper and butter...
Hands in not good. Mine sometime "lock" if I do something repetitive... and I really don't want to go where that might be going.
I'm liking the sounds of the Oxo cube treatment.
Wish you well.

@debrasue - What you just described sounds yummy. :) Do you live far away from York? If so, could you send me some to sample in the post!!!:D:D
Well, I'd be happy to send you a sample, but I dread to think what sort of state the envelope would be in after 24 hours or so of TLC from Royal Mail!
Go on - if you can operate a jar lid and drive a spoon, you can make this!!

Oh YES - I can relate to the hand-locks and the waking-and-leg-stretching cramps! It's deeply upsetting, isn't it, especially when you're innocently (I assume) luxuriating in the early-morning s-t-r-e-e-e-e-t-c-h....... The dawn chorus in our house is frequently interrupted by the sound of me leaping out of bed and stamping around the bedroom, squeaking "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, owwwwww!!!!" (which doesn't help in the slightest, and only serves to infuriate the other half if he's still comatose).

@debrasue - Welcome, but I seem to remember welcoming you not so long ago? You've come to the right thread if you want a mixture of Humour, Advice, Support, to have a rant/moan, to be serious = it's all here and we are all friendly with it too.:)

Thanks, @liam1955! Yes, I joined the forum a month ago as a Newbie T2 and I've been surfing across the various threads ever since. This one sounds just PERFECT, so I'm very glad I've landed on here now.

Hi, @mo53! I have a tendency to cramp in my feet too, particularly when I go to bed. For me, it seems to be caused by dehydration (because I forget to drink enough during the day) and lack of movement if I've spent a lot of time at my desk, but I also find if I drink an Oxo cube in a mug of hot water about an hour before I go to bed I don't get cramp so often, so I think it's certainly salt-related.
I get alot of ache feet at night. I'm going to try oxo. The cold kitchen floor when I forget my slippers used to get the blame. Poor floor! Ha ha

@liam1955 great to hear that you had some sleep last night! Brilliant! That would have done you the world of good:)
@ickihun , @hankjam and @debrasue thank you for the suggestions about the cramp. The oxo cube drink seemed to help but maybe it was coincidence. I do drink a lot of sparkling water so I'm not sure if it is dehydration. I take a diuretic which at one time caused a potassium deficiency so I had to take a potassium tablet twice a day. I'm hoping that ensuring I get plenty of water and salt will sort it out as I really would prefer not to have to take yet another tablet.
At least the glaucoma consultant was pleased with me. My pressures had dropped a lot! :)
I had to laugh at the thought of the 'no-tella' being posted to @liam1955 !:)

Hi guys I finished my evening meal about an hour ago how long should I wait until i test? I was advised at the doctors after around an hour to 2 hours, does this semester to be the norm?
Than you x

@mo53 - That's good to know your eyes are ok. And how is the cramps today? I read that you drink sparkling water? Do you not find that it gives you a lot of gas? I believe Spring Water is good as it contains certain minerals. But, you really need to drink plenty of fluids after you have been swimming or any exercise for that matter.:)

Going to repair an iPad mini for my niece's son soon. Ordered a new screen and got it today. I have repaired countless tablets and mobile phones and am proficient in it due to my electronics background. My repair costs £18 compared to a shop repair of £50-£90 which is a complete rip off. :)
