Hi. Firstly I had to jion again with new password, now I have to keep logging in with my email and password every time, bothering my eyes as couple weeks ago had second eye op and it's frustrating. Don't know what's going on. Bye the way I'm gonna try your crab and Spring o ions on lidl bread when I can get out, lidl is 2 buses away from me and still got bad throat & chest, and some nasty side effects came out yesterday, from steroids I think. Anyway good health and bgs to you all

@ickihun - Thank You my Dear Friend for your kind words. We are so 'fortunate' in having this 'on-line family' who care for one another - we are so lucky!.. Have got to ask you about the Canagliflozin, how are you with taking it? I have rang and got appointment to see my GP next Week (13th), I am happy if my blood sugars both before and after remain 10 or under! Today's was ok at 6.2 - better than yesterday's (before bed was 9.7) but, have not got anything -YET to see, but think I might break out in the rash = Again??? Do you think I should apply the DAKTACORT Cream? even though there is nothing to see only a slight stinging sensation. Thanks for any advice. William x

I've messaged you William :)

@kjc2011 Can you tell us the sort of things that you are having for your evening meal? It sounds as if you may be having too many carbohydrates
Hi on Monday I had gammon fried egg and heinz baked beans around half a small tin 2 hours after I was 11.2 and the other day I had chicken drumsticks with corn on the cob and was 10.4 tested bother days 2 hours after eating

Sounds like the baked beans and corn on the cob might have been the culprits, what were your readings immediately before eating?

Possibly beans and corn as you say. I haven't been advised to test before meals but seems like I should it has taken 6 years to be issued rest strips off my doctor and been told twice daily first thing morning and then 2 hours after meals bit wary at the min using too many strips and running out too soon I have N point, enter with my nurse on Monday next week to have BP check and discuss readings i'll see what she advises regards teeth g before meals it seems the sensible thing to do then I know what to avoid and what to have in moderation to help stop this from happening. It's really silly they don't advocate testing on non insulin dependent it helps so much, it's helped me take control and begin to understand within a week. Thank you for your advice and enjoy the rest of your day xx

Well just back from a 40 minute walk and had a roast chicken salad for my dinner, yum! Having a nice relaxing day with my 10 year old nephew enjoying my time off work during half term hols, and still have another week off after this week ☺. what's everybody up to today hope you're all having a good day xx

@kjc2011 the reason that we test immediately before and 2 hrs after is to see what the food does to our BG levels. A reading afterwards doesn't mean anything on its own

. Fingers crossed. Today finding it easier to get the forum! Hopefully every thinks back to normal. Just indulged in turkey breast and homemade soup! I'd love a big key lime pie! I could eat the lot! Got to try and get some of this weight off I've put on since first eye op/flu virus ect, not been mobile. Good day to everyone

Well the Mr Magoo style glasses that I was prescribed on the 22nd February (and the thing that started this whole T2 journey off) have just been placed in the glasses for Africa box in Specsavers.....after seeing my optician today and having a re-test my prescription has literally halved.

Hi everyone,
Hope you're all having a good day, hugs and best wishes for those who need/want them.

I'm having fun and games with the weather today. Forecast for rain today so I didn't put washing on this morning, by late lunchtime we still hadn't had any so I put a load in. Machine pinged to say 'I'm finished', you guessed it, here comes the rain!! Waited to see if it would blow over and gave it half hour after it did. Went and sorted the washing out, got the peg bag and wiped the line, by the time I came in to get the clothes it was raining again . Since I've decided to leave it til tomorrow, not a raindrop to be seen. Someone up there is having fun with me.

@maureen5752 , that's been happening to me and a few others for about a week or so. Mods are aware but haven't received an update yet.

@13lizanne - Just to say Thank You to my wonderful 'girl-friend' Anna, who is tip top No.1 :) - (I spat my dummy out and had a rant today).

So, today my FBG started at 7.7 (which is fine and dandy not to be in the 8's)
Pre Brekkie was 7.0 and Post Brekkie was 6.3
Pre Lunch was 6.3 and Post Lunch was 6.1
Ive just tested again and Im 5.6

Onwards and Downwards !!

Edit - just a general question - but is that downward pattern throughout the day usual ??

Hi @Lindy1706 - I am surprised that the Optician did not tell you initially to come back once you had got your blood sugars under tighter control, and then test your eyes? High sugars can make vision 'blurry' and can last for up to 3months.

We did go through all that @liam1955 but I desperatly needed a pair of legal driving glasses and some reading glasses desperatly as nothing would work at all.....The prescription that we did in February was put into the 25 pounds frames so it was not too terrible.

@kjc2011 There is sugar in Baked Beans and I believe in Sweet Corn too. Always check on the tin, but you can always rinse the Corn - as for baked beans! - hmm
