Type 2 Life

Morning everyone, back home again after a peaceful, relaxing holiday amid gorgeous scenery. Hope everyone is doing OK. Hope your pain is not too bad today @liam1955 and @eldergarth and @ickihun s barbecue is a success!
Welcome back Anne clad you enjoyed your holiday off to docs today for some answers but it's not looking good at min after recent test results

Will try the rest of the strips (waiting for testing solution that I ordered to check the machine). I have more strips in the post for the codefree, so will use them up and by then I will have an appointment with the diabetic nurse and will ask her for any free sample meters. I liked my accu chek but liked the cost of the testing strips for the codefree. Thanks for your advice

@eldergarth try not to worry. They will seek out the problem and offer help. Don't panic yet. The nhs is very good when you have a common problem. I'm hoping it's nerve trapped or similiar and you'll be back to your energetic self again. I was suffering for a few months then gone. I was on crutches and in a right state. Fingers crossed for you.

@13lizanne, pleased to hear your holiday was good....starting with the lurgy just before you started it wasn't nice so hope it cleared quickly

If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours

App still playing up....can't do likes, thought I could do replies again but won't connect and I someone had replied to @13lizanne so tapped to take me to her post and the app thinks admin have deleted the thread )which I know isn't true cos I can "swipe" my way back..
I am doing "multi-like" to you all.
Have a good day everyone and hope the weather is warm and dry if not sunny...
Enjoyed our walk (with Nina) but wasn't feeling as woohoo as yesterday. Needed crutch again but not too heavily reliant on it

Same here. I use the app n my iPad, but can't do likes. Please fix it techie people

Afternoon all,
Hope you're all doing better than yesterday, especially if it wasn't a good day for you.

Routine monthly weight check with my DN this a.m., another 2 kilos off. Both of us are well pleased, she even said she was proud of me . I'm being a coward because I won't say yet what my weight was and is now. I will, when I feel more comfortable with my results.

@Lindy1706, I'm collecting mine together to go as well. Lovely feeling and enjoying getting some new items in smaller sizes (not too many because I need/intend to go lower).

@liam1955, Hi William, hope you're feeling a little better today and that it's sorted quickly. Good luck with the review. It is nice to know that I can have an occasional apple, will try different fruits as well. Have been eating grapes, raspberries, strawberries & blueberries all along and appear to tolerate them quite well (as long as I have my cheese as well).

@13lizanne, Hi Anna, glad to know that you are feeling better and that you enjoyed your holiday, was concerned that it would be spoilt by illness.

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone, Karen xx

Does ibuprofen increase BGs then, @ickihun? Any ideas on codeine?
Good luck with the r-ala - let us know how you get on.
Hugs x

The cheap Ibruprofen tablets are coated with sugar. I could take kids sugar free liquid nurofen but much more expensive. My gp would prescribe me tablets but still not sure sugar free.
Co-codamol has been prescriped lately so I cannot see my gp doing them if it goes against specialist care. Also I've never heard paracetamol or co-codamol being a problem for diabetes.
I've had no problem this morning and I didn't take canagliflozin.
Low carb ice cream is made and currently freezing as we speak.
One blueberry and other strawberry.

Ah, yes - I'd better get onto the icecream-making; the family are coming for a BBQ on Saturday evening. Bon appetit!

Good Afternoon, my friends on www.diabetes.co.uk type 2 life forum,

I haven't been feeling mentally very healthy with my schizophrenia that runs alongside the asperger syndrome and adhd, having disturbing hallucinations, paranoid delusions and thought disorder as well as attempts of deliberate self harm. Alotof this hasbeen building up in me over a period of time and a good friend had to take me to a and e at my local hospital last night. a very nice psychiatric nurse assessed me and made me a cup of tea and offered me a sandwich. they didn't hospitalise me because of pronounced vulnerability issues in my AS and ADHD so the psychiatric nurse submitted a report by email to my care coordinator.

My carer brought my shopping and I ate one bowl of crunchy nut cornflakes with semi skimmed milk and just now I've drunk one mug of coffee with 1 x 5 ml spoonful of red mountain coffee granules, 3 Silver Spoon 0 calories artificial sweetener tablets and a splash of semi skimmed milk. My blood sugar just now at 3:52 pm was 5.7.

Have a lovely evening, my beautiful friends.

Ah Johnny, what a difficult time you are having. How are you feeling today? I'm glad that you have a good friend who cares for you and I know that you have a lot of support from your carer and service providers. You are doing well to stick to your sweeteners instead of the sugar you used to use in your drinks and your blood sugar is reflecting the hard work that you are putting into controlling your diabetes. Well done on that. I hope that you also have a lovely evening my brave friend

@maureen5752 & @Sable_Jan - Hi Girls. Just to say went shopping and into Superdrug they sell CANESOASIS at £5.49 , their own brand is £3.99 and Home Bargains sell CYSTOCALM at 89p - I checked all boxes and the contents/ingredients are all the same, 6 sachets, Cranberry flavour, so I bought the cheapest from Home Bargains and going to try it and see! Will let you know my results after experimenting.
